Vodyanitsa Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Vodyanitsa build guide for Genshin Impact. Vodyanitsa is a Hydro Catalyst support character. Vodyanitsa's main role is to heal, buff the team, apply off-field Hydro, and provide support for Hydro, Cryo, and Stellar Swirl teams.

Vodyanitsa's personal damage is very low, so building her as a damage dealer is not recommended. Her main goal is to stack as much HP as possible, ideally reaching around 65,000 HP to maximize her HP-scaling buffs. Energy Recharge can be useful if you want to use her Burst, but it is not always required because her Burst is not the main part of her support value.

Best Weapons for Vodyanitsa

Listed below are Vodyanitsa's best weapons for a support build. These weapons focus on increasing her HP, improving her healing, or giving her additional team buffs.

Vodyanitsa Signature Weapon R1
Base ATK: 542
HP%: 66.2%
Increases Healing Bonus by 8%. When the equipping character performs healing, they receive 1 stack of the "Hymn of the Water Imp" effect, which increases their Max HP by 5%. Additionally, every 1,000 Max HP the equipping character has over 40,000 will increase the active character's ATK by 0.25%, up to 5% in total. Hymn of the Water Imp lasts 8s, max 3 stacks. When a nearby party member triggers a Frozen or Stellar Swirl reaction, active Hymn stacks become "Triumph of the Water Imp" instead, further increasing the Max HP and ATK increase by 75%.
Vodyanitsa's signature weapon is expected to be her best option. It provides a very high HP% substat, Healing Bonus, more Max HP through its passive, and an ATK buff for the active character. It becomes even stronger in Frozen and Stellar Swirl teams, which are already her main team archetypes.
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers R5

Heritage

Base ATK: 401

HP: 35.2%

When switching characters, the new character taking the field has their ATK increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 10s. This effect can only occur once every 20s.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is looking to be one of Vodyanitsa's best support options. Its HP substat helps her reach her HP requirement, while the 48% ATK buff at R5 is extremely valuable for the next character you swap into. This makes it especially strong in teams with ATK-scaling DPS characters.
Jadefall's Splendor R1

Primordial Jade Regalia

Base ATK: 608

HP: 49.6%

For 3s after using an Elemental Burst or creating a shield, the equipping character can gain the Primordial Jade Regalia effect: Restore 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 / 6.5 Energy every 2.5s, and gain 0.3% / 0.5% / 0.7% / 0.9% / 1.1% Elemental DMG Bonus for their corresponding Elemental Type for every 1,000 Max HP they possess, up to 12% / 20% / 28% / 36% / 44%. Primordial Jade Regalia will still take effect even if the equipping character is not on the field.

Jadefall's Splendor is another decent HP-scaling option. It helps Vodyanitsa reach her HP requirement more easily while giving her some extra utility from its passive.
Everlasting Moonglow R1

Byakuya Kougetsu

Base ATK: 608

HP: 49.6%

Healing Bonus increased by 10% / 12.5% / 15% / 17.5% / 20%, Normal Attack DMG is increased by 1% / 1.5% / 2% / 2.5% / 3% of the Max HP of the character equipping this weapon. For 12s after using an Elemental Burst, Normal Attacks that hit opponents will restore 0.6 Energy. Energy can be restored this way once every 0.1s.

Everlasting Moonglow is a solid HP-scaling weapon for Vodyanitsa. It provides a good amount of HP and Healing Bonus, making her healing stronger while helping her reach her HP target.
Prototype Amber R5

Gilding

Base ATK: 510

HP: 41.3%

Using an Elemental Burst regenerates 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 Energy every 2s for 6s. All party members will regenerate 4% / 4.5% / 5% / 5.5% / 6% HP every 2s for this duration.

Prototype Amber is one of Vodyanitsa's few viable 4-Star weapon options. It provides HP and restores Energy after using her Burst, making it useful if you want to use her Burst more consistently.
Ash-Graven Drinking Horn R5

Tupac's Grip

Base ATK: 510

HP: 41.3%

When an attack hits an opponent, deal AoE DMG equal to 40% / 50% / 60% / 70% / 80% of Max HP at the target / target's / target's / target's / target's location. This effect can be triggered once every 15s.

Ash-Graven Drinking Horn is a decent free option thanks to its HP stat and passive damage. Its passive deals extra AoE damage based on 40% of the user's Max HP every 15s, giving Vodyanitsa a small amount of extra damage while still building HP.

Best Artifacts for Vodyanitsa

Vodyanitsa's artifact choices should focus on increasing her HP and improving her support value. Since her personal damage is low, you should prioritize teamwide buffs over damage-focused artifact sets.

Tenacity of the Millelith

Tenacity of the Millelith

2-Piece Set: HP +20%

4-Piece Set: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

Tenacity of the Millelith is looking to be Vodyanitsa's best artifact set. The 2-piece bonus provides HP, helping her reach her HP requirement, while the 4-piece bonus provides a 20% ATK buff whenever her off-field Hydro damage hits enemies. This is especially strong in teams such as Skirk Freeze or Vesna Stellar Swirl teams, where the DPS characters greatly value ATK buffs.
Song of Days Past

Song of Days Past

2-Piece Set: Healing Bonus +15%.

4-Piece Set: When the equipping character heals a party member, the Yearning effect will be created for 6s, which records the total amount of healing provided (including overflow healing). When the duration expires, the Yearning effect will be transformed into the "Waves of Days Past" effect: When your active party member hits an opponent with a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Plunging Attack, Elemental Skill, or Elemental Burst, the DMG dealt will be increased by 8% of the total healing amount recorded by the Yearning effect. The "Waves of Days Past" effect is removed after it has taken effect 5 times or after 10s. A single instance of the Yearning effect can record up to 15,000 healing, and only a single instance can exist at once, but it can record the healing from multiple equipping characters. Equipping characters on standby can still trigger this effect.

Song of Days Past can be used in Freeze teams such as Skirk or Lohen teams, especially if another character is already using Tenacity of the Millelith. This set increases damage based on the amount of healing Vodyanitsa provides, making it a decent alternative support option.
Instructor

Instructor

2-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.

4-Piece Set: Upon triggering an Elemental Reaction, increases all party members' Elemental Mastery by 120 for 8s.

Instructor is a beginner-friendly option if you do not have access to her better artifact sets. It allows Vodyanitsa to provide Elemental Mastery buffs alongside her resistance shred, but you lose a lot of HP because Instructor is a 4-Star artifact set. This makes it much harder to reach her HP requirement.

Vodyanitsa's Stat Priority

Sands of Eon: HP %
Goblet of Eonothem: HP %
Circlet of Logos: HP %
Substats: HP % > Energy Recharge

As Vodyanitsa is mainly a healer and buffer, you want to stack as much HP as possible. A large part of her value depends on her Max HP, and you ideally want to reach around 65,000 HP to maximize her buffs. Energy Recharge is only useful if you want to use her Elemental Burst consistently.

Recommended Stats for Vodyanitsa

Listed below are our recommended stats for Vodyanitsa. Build recommendations assume a support-focused setup where your main goal is to maximize her HP.

HP: 60,000 - 65,000+
Energy Recharge: Optional

Vodyanitsa's Talent Priority

Talent Priority: Rechitativ: Sonorous Dawn > Sink With Thee >>> Psyshkhwe Arietta

Vodyanitsa's Elemental Skill, Rechitativ: Sonorous Dawn, should be your highest priority because her resistance shred and main support utility come from this talent. Her Elemental Burst, Sink With Thee, can be leveled after that if you use it in your rotations. Her Normal Attack can be left unleveled.

How to Play Vodyanitsa

Vodyanitsa is a low-field-time healer and buffer. Her main goal is to use her Elemental Skill, Rechitativ: Sonorous Dawn, then swap to your main DPS. Her Skill provides off-field Hydro damage, healing, interruption resistance, and resistance shred for Hydro and Cryo.

In Stellar Swirl teams, Vodyanitsa also interacts with Stellar Vortex and Wandering Vortex through her passive The Last Djeguako Songstress. This allows her to support Stellar Swirl teams by helping reduce Anemo RES and improving the team's overall reaction damage.

Her Elemental Burst, Sink With Thee, can be used when available, but it is not mandatory in every rotation. Since her Burst is not the main source of her support value, you can prioritize stacking HP over building a large amount of Energy Recharge.

Vodyanitsa's Best Constellations

Vodyanitsa already functions as a healer and buffer at C0, but her constellations significantly improve her team support. Her best constellations are focused on increasing her buffs for Hydro, Cryo, and Stellar Swirl teams.

Investment Priority: Constellation 2 > Constellation 6 > Constellation 1

Waters in Full Splendor (C1) gives Vodyanitsa additional team utility by increasing the ATK of nearby party members whenever she heals. This is a strong support upgrade, especially because she heals frequently during her Elemental Skill duration.

Echoes That Pierce the Snow (C2) is her biggest early constellation. It increases the CRIT DMG of Hydro and Cryo dealt by the active character, and it can instead increase Stellar Swirl CRIT DMG when a Wandering Vortex is present or has recently exploded. It also extends the duration of Song of Ages Past by 9s.

Neverending Song of Revelry (C6) is her strongest constellation for full team support. It allows her C2 effect to apply to all nearby party members and also increases Stellar Swirl reaction damage, Hydro damage, and Cryo damage while Song of Ages Past is active.
