Candace Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Candace build guide for Genshin Impact. Candace is a 4-Star Hydro Support Character who focuses on Hydro infusion, Normal Attack DMG buffs, and AoE Hydro application. In our guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Candace, from building the best Artifacts and Weapons to important stat priorities and rotations.

Best Weapons for Candace

Listed below are Candace's best weapons. While weapons are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Candace can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Candace.

Favonius Lance

Windfall

Base ATK: 565

Energy Recharge: 30.6%

CRIT Hits have a 60% / 70% / 80% / 90% / 100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s / 10.5s / 9s / 7.5s / 6s.

Favonius Lance is Candace's best weapon in most support builds due to her extremely high Energy Recharge requirements. It helps Candace use her Burst more consistently while also generating particles for the rest of the team.
Engulfing Lightning

Timeless Dream: Eternal Stove

Base ATK: 608

Energy Recharge: 55.1%

ATK increased by 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56% of Energy Recharge over the base 100%. You can gain a maximum bonus of 80% / 90% / 100% / 110% / 120% ATK. Gain 30% / 35% / 40% / 45% / 50% Energy Recharge for 12s after using an Elemental Burst.

Engulfing Lightning is a strong premium option for Candace, providing a large amount of Energy Recharge and converting part of that Energy Recharge into ATK. It is most useful if you want to improve Candace's personal damage while still meeting her Energy needs.
Staff of Homa

Reckless Cinnabar

Base ATK: 608

CRIT DMG: 66.2%

HP increased by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 0.8% / 1% / 1.2% / 1.4% / 1.6% of the wielder's Max HP. When the wielder's HP is less than 50%, this ATK Bonus is increased by an additional 1% / 1.2% / 1.4% / 1.6% / 1.8% of Max HP.

Staff of Homa is a strong offensive option thanks to its CRIT DMG and HP-based effects. It is mainly used when you want Candace to contribute more personal damage, but it does not solve her Energy Recharge requirements so you need to use ER sands and sub-stats.
Skyward Spine

Black Wing

Base ATK: 674

Energy Recharge: 36.8%

Increases CRIT Rate by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16% and increases Normal ATK SPD by 12%. Additionally, Normal and Charged Attacks hits on opponents have a 50% chance to trigger a vacuum blade that deals 40% / 55% / 70% / 85% / 100% of ATK as DMG in a small AoE. This effect can occur no more than once every 2s.

Skyward Spine is a comfortable option for Candace, providing Energy Recharge and a high Base ATK. It helps with Burst uptime while still offering some offensive value compared to lower-stat support weapons.
Deathmatch

Gladiator

Base ATK: 454

CRIT Rate: 36.8%

If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% and DEF is increased by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48%.

Deathmatch can be used if you are building Candace for more personal damage. The CRIT Rate it provides is also useful but as said she still need a lot of ER which forces you to get it from ER sands and sub-stats.
"The Catch"

Shanty

Base ATK: 510

Energy Recharge: 45.9%

Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% and Elemental Burst CRIT Rate by 6% / 7.5% / 9% / 10.5% / 12%.

The Catch is a strong free-to-play option that improves Candace's Elemental Burst damage while also providing Energy Recharge. It is useful if Favonius Lance is not available only.
Kitain Cross Spear

Samurai Conduct

Base ATK: 565

Elemental Mastery: 110

Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 6% / 7.5% / 9% / 10.5% / 12%. After Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the character loses 3 Energy but regenerates 3 / 3.5 / 4 / 4.5 / 5 Energy every 2s for the next 6s. This effect can occur once every 10s. Can be triggered even when the character is not on the field.

Kitain Cross Spear can help Candace with Energy through its passive, but its Elemental Mastery stat is not generally a major priority for her. It can still be used specially if you really want to deal damage in a vapourise team.
Prototype Starglitter

Magic Affinity

Base ATK: 510

Energy Recharge: 45.9%

After using an Elemental Skill, increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16% for 12s. Max 2 stacks.

Prototype Starglitter is a craftable Energy Recharge option for Candace. It is generally weaker than Favonius Lance, but it can still help meet her high Energy Recharge requirements in early or budget builds.

Best Artifacts for Candace

Emblem of Severed Fate

Emblem of Severed Fate

2-Piece Set: Energy Recharge +20%

4-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.

Emblem of Severed Fate is Candace's best artifact set in most situations. The 2-piece Energy Recharge bonus helps with her high Burst requirements, while the 4-piece effect improves her Elemental Burst damage based on her Energy Recharge.
Noblesse Oblige

Noblesse Oblige

2-Piece Set: Elemental Burst DMG +20%

4-Piece Set: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.

Noblesse Oblige is a strong supportive alternative if your team benefits from ATK buffs and no other character is already holding the set. It is especially useful in teams where Candace is used mainly to Burst and support the main DPS.

Candace's Stat Priority

Sands of Eon: HP % / Energy Recharge
Goblet of Eonothem: HP % / Hydro DMG
Circlet of Logos: HP % / CRIT Rate
Substats: Energy Recharge > CRIT Rate > HP % > Flat HP

Candace's most important stat is Energy Recharge due to her high Burst requirements. HP% is also valuable because her supportive buffs and some of her damage scale with Max HP. If using Favonius Lance, CRIT Rate becomes important to reliably trigger the weapon passive.

Hydro DMG and offensive CRIT stats can be used if you are building Candace for more personal damage, but most support builds should prioritize Energy Recharge and HP first.

Recommended Stats for Candace

Build recommendations assume a support-focused Candace using Favonius Lance. Your exact Energy Recharge needs can change depending on how many Hydro characters are in the team and whether Candace uses her Elemental Skill once or twice per rotation.

HP: 30,000-40,000
ATK: 1,000-1,300
CRIT Rate: 45-60%
CRIT DMG: 80-120%
ER: 200-300%

Candace's Energy Recharge Requirements

Candace has very high Energy Recharge requirements because her Elemental Skill only generates 2-3 particles. These requirements become lower when running additional Hydro characters or when using her Skill twice per rotation.

1 Skill 2 Skills
1 Hydro 280-300% 250-270%
2 Hydro 240-260% 200-220%
3 Hydro 200-220% 170-190%

Candace's Talent Priority

Talent Priority: Sacred Rite: Wagtail's Tide > Sacred Rite: Heron's Sanctum >>> Gleaming Spear - Guardian Stance

Candace's most important talent is her Elemental Burst, as this is where most of her supportive utility comes from. Her Elemental Skill can also be leveled, but her Normal Attacks can usually be ignored when she is played off-field.

How to Play Candace

Candace is mainly played as an off-field support who provides Hydro application, Normal Attack DMG buffs, and Hydro infusion for applicable characters. Her Elemental Burst, Sacred Rite: Wagtail's Tide, is the most important part of her kit and should be used consistently every rotation.

Her Elemental Skill, Sacred Rite: Heron's Sanctum, has two uses. Tapping the Skill deals Hydro damage in front of Candace and generates 2 Energy particles, while Holding the Skill allows Candace to block incoming damage before dealing AoE Hydro damage and generating 3 Energy particles.

Candace's Elemental Burst grants Prayer of the Crimson Crown to the active character. This buff increases Elemental DMG dealt by Normal Attacks, deals periodic AoE Hydro damage when characters take the field, and gives Sword, Claymore, and Polearm characters a Hydro infusion.

In most rotations, Candace should use her Skill to generate Energy, cast her Burst, and then swap into the character who benefits from her Hydro infusion or Normal Attack DMG buff. Because her personal damage is low, she generally does not want extended field time outside of using her Skill and Burst.

Candace's Best Constellations

Best Constellations: C1 and C6

Candace's most valuable constellations are C1 Returning Heiress of the Scarlet Sands and C6 The Overflow. C1 increases the duration of her Burst effect, making her supportive utility easier to maintain. C6 adds additional AoE Hydro damage when characters affected by her Burst deal Elemental DMG with Normal Attacks, significantly improving her off-field Hydro application and team value.
