Welcome to our Vesna build guide for Genshin Impact. Vesna is a powerful 5-Star Anemo DPS character who deals large direct Stellar-Swirl DMG. In our guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Vesna, from building the best artifacts and weapons to important stat priorities and rotations.

Best Weapons for Vesna

Listed below are Vesna's best weapons. While weapons are listed in priority order, what's best to build on your Vesna can vary depending on the team composition and level of investment you want to put into Vesna.

Beyond the Chrysalis (R1) 123%

Dance of Wings Unbound

Base ATK: 674

CRIT DMG: 44.1%

Each time the equipping character uses their Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, they gain one of the following three effects in sequence:
Winds of Devotion: Increases the equipping character's CRIT DMG by 56% / 72% / 88% / 104% / 120% for 10s;
Winds of Defiance: Increases Stellar Swirl reaction DMG dealt by the equipping character by 36% / 45% / 54% / 63% / 72% for 10s; and
Winds of Plenty: Regenerates 5 / 5.5 / 6 / 6.5 / 7 Elemental Energy for the equipping character. Up to 5 / 5.5 / 6 / 6.5 / 7 Elemental Energy can be regenerated in this way every 4s.
The aforementioned effects are removed and the sequence is reset when the equipping character leaves the field.

When the equipping character hits an opponent with their Elemental Skill, they gain "Lake-Hued Lament": ATK increases by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16% for 8s. This effect can trigger once every 0.1s. Max 3 stacks, and each stack's duration is independent. At 3 stacks, the CRIT DMG of any Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG caused by the equipping character is increased by 50% / 65% / 80% / 95% / 110%, and triggering Stellar Glimmer reactions or Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG will also restore 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6 Elemental Energy to the character. This Energy recovery effect can trigger once every 3.5s. Can be triggered even when the equipping character is off-field.

When the equipping character hits the opponent with an attack within 12s after using the Elemental Skill, they gain the "Verdant" effect, which increases their ATK by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8% and their Elemental Mastery by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40. This effect lasts 6s and can trigger once every second. Max 3 stacks. The aforementioned effects can still trigger even when the equipping character is not on the field.
Radiance: Stellar Glimmer: The effect of "Verdant" is changed to: Increases ATK by 6% / 7.5% / 9% / 10.5% / 12% as well as Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by the equipping character by 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16%.

Triggering an Elemental Reaction increases the equipping character's ATK by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% for 12s. Triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction increases their Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by 16% / 20% / 24% / 28% / 32% for 12s. The aforementioned effects can trigger even when the character is not on the field.

Increases Elemental Mastery by 52 / 65 / 78 / 91 / 104 for 12s after Elemental Skill use. Max 2 stacks, and each stack's duration is independent of the others.

4-Piece Set: Increases the equipping character's CRIT Rate by 16%, and their Stellar Swirl reaction dealt by 40%, for 10s after they trigger a Stellar Swirl reaction.

Viridescent Venerer

2-Piece Set: Anemo DMG Bonus +15%

4-Piece Set: Increases Swirl reaction DMG dealt by 60%, and Stellar Swirl reaction DMG dealt by 20%. Decreases opponent's Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s. Upon triggering a Stellar Swirl in the opponent, will also decrease their Cryo RES by 40%. RES debuffs of the same elemental type do not stack.

Vesna's Stat Priority

: ATK % > Elemental Mastery

Substats: CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK % >= Elemental Mastery > Energy Recharge

As Vesna is a Stellar-Swirl DMG dealer, CRIT Rate/DMG, ATK, and Elemental Mastery will likely be her best stats, with CRIT being the highest priority stat, followed by ATK and EM. ATK and Elemental Mastery are both very close in DMG in Stellar-Swirl teams, which could make the best option dependent on the exact team composition and weapon.

Generally, going for 2 ATK % main stats is slightly better. However, with weapons that provide large amounts of ATK %, a single Elemental Mastery and Attack main stat can be a marginally better option. You could also opt to use whichever piece has the better substats.

Using Vesna's Elemental Burst every rotation is usually going to be the best option, as it deals a decent amount of DMG and restores Sword Essence while leveling up Windborne Sword. However, in non-double-Anemo teams, the energy requirement might be too high to use it every rotation, and the additional ER investment can result in DPS loss.

Recommended Stats for Vesna

Build recommendations assume a "decently built" level of artifact rolls alongside Vesna's best weapon. Using other weapons may increase or decrease certain stats relative to these recommendations.

With the Scarlet Proof artifact set, Vesna already gains an additional 16% CRIT Rate, which can set the maximum required CRIT Rate to 84% so as not to overcap. When used with 2 other Cryo characters, an additional 15% CRIT Rate can be gained through Cryo Resonance, further decreasing CRIT Rate targets.

Vesna's Talent Priority

Vesna deals Stellar-Swirl DMG through her Elemental Skill The Art of Victory and Elemental Burst For the Tsaritsa!. Her Elemental Skill The Art of Victory deals the most amount of her DMG and should be prioritized.

Vesna's Elemental Skill The Art of Victory can infuse her Normal Attacks Vila Blade Dance with Anemo. However, Vesna cannot deal direct Stellar-Swirl DMG through her Normal Attacks. Instead, her Normal Attacks are mostly used for on-field Anemo application and do not need to be leveled.

How to Play Vesna

Vesna can deal direct Stellar-Swirl damage by entering the Armed for Action mode through her Elemental Skill The Art of Victory. During Armed for Action, Vesna gains 2 stacks of Sword Essence and Normal Attacks are infused with Anemo that cannot be overridden.

Sword Essence is a resource that allows Vesna to use her special Elemental Skill Windborne Sword during the Armed for Action mode.

Sword Essence can be accumulated by using:

• Normal Attacks (4 hits regenerate 1 stack)
• Elemental Burst
• Special Elemental Skill Windborne Sword

Vesna starts with 2 stacks in the Armed for Action mode.

Each use of Windborne Sword consumes 1 stack and upgrades the damage of Windborne Sword, starting from level 1, to the next level up to 3. At levels 2 & 3, a Spirit Blade is summoned and deals direct Stellar-Swirl damage, with the most damage being at level 3.

The Armed for Action mode lasts for up to 15s, or until 3 level 3 Windborne Swords have been used (which essentially allows 5 casts of Vesna's skill during Armed for Action).

Vesna's Elemental Burst For the Tsaritsa! also summons a Spirit Blade to deal direct Stellar-Swirl damage. As Vesna's Elemental Burst regenerates Sword Essence, it can be used during Armed for Action mode to upgrade Windborne Sword's level and stack her first passive Rite of Spring's Procession.

Vesna's first ascension passive Rite of Spring's Procession grants a stack each time her Elemental Burst or special Elemental Skill Windborne Sword is used. This can stack up to 6 times. Each stack increases the base multiplier of the Spirit Blade direct Stellar-Swirl DMG by 10%, up to 60%.

Vesna's second ascension passive Truth Prevails grants an additional 6% ATK for every Anemo & Cryo party member, including Vesna. For party members of other Elemental Types, 25 Elemental Mastery is granted instead, allowing Vesna to benefit regardless of party members' elemental type.

Vesna deals most of her DMG through her special Elemental Skill Windborne Sword. Entering the Armed for Action mode through her Elemental Skill The Art of Victory immediately grants enough Sword Essence to use Windborne Sword 2 times. After that, Vesna's burst For the Tsaritsa! can be used to restore Sword Essence and use Windborne Sword again. The rest of the rotation consists of using Vesna's Normal Attacks to restore Sword Essence and use Windborne Sword.

In this rotation with Vodyanitsa, Vodyanitsa goes before Vesna to grant the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers buff to Vesna. As this team does not include another Anemo, Stellar-Swirl cannot be triggered until Vesna's turn. This would result in less DMG dealt by Odette and Cryo Traveler during the first rotation. Alternatively, performing a single Normal Attack on Vesna at the start of the first rotation can solve this issue.

Vesna's Best Constellations

Vesna's constellations offer decent improvements in her DMG at almost every constellation level. This ranking was calculated in a team with Vesna, C0 Vodyanitsa, C6 Cryo Traveler, and C0 Odette.

Winter's Farewell Feast increases the maximum number of Lv 3 Windborne Sword uses and also makes the first Windborne Sword not consume Sword Essence. Additionally, it increases Vesna's Stellar-Swirl DMG by 20%. Overall, a decent first constellation, allowing for an additional use of Windborne Sword.

Kolo of Spring's Arrival allows Vesna to start with the maximum number of stacks from her passive Rite of Spring's Procession, and increases Vesna's ATK by 20%. Constellation 2 is a decent stopping point and provides a similar DMG increase to C1.

Constellation 3 and Constellation 5 both provide an additional 3 Levels to Vesna's Elemental Skill and Burst. The additional levels from Vesna's C3 Winter's Last Offering provide a sizeable DMG gain as it increases Stellar-Swirl DMG dealt by the Windborne Sword.

Glory to Our Forebears triples the effects of Vesna's second passive Truth Prevails, increasing her DMG through additional ATK% and EM.

Unwavering Ardor allows Vesna to deal a large instance of additional Stellar-Swirl DMG after unleashing a Lv 3 Windborne Sword followed by her first Normal Attack. Additionally, C6 provides a 20% Elevation DMG Multiplier to Stellar-Swirl, which effectively increases all her DMG by 20%. This is a strong C6 and Vesna's single largest DMG increase.

Vesna's Signature Weapon Beyond the Chrysalis is generally a better investment than her first constellation Winter's Farewell Feast. Beyond the Chrysalis provides slightly more DMG than C1; moreover, it is also a universal stat stick for any sword user, making it higher value.
