Character Overview and Play
Sushang is a 4-Star Physical Character following the Path of the Hunt. She excels against enemies with Weakness Breaks, allowing her talent to shine by increasing her speed whenever an enemy on the field has their Weakness Broken. In addition, when Sushang uses her Skill against a Weakness Broken enemy, there is a 100% chance for Sword Stance to trigger, dealing additional Physical Damage. This greatly benefits Sushang, as her Skill already deals solid damage on its own while also giving her the opportunity to deal even more burst damage through Sword Stance.
Sushang's Ultimate is where her damage potential becomes even more impressive. Her Ultimate causes her giant chicken to slam into an enemy, dealing massive Physical Damage scaling up to 320%, while also advancing her action forward by 100%. This allows Sushang to immediately take another turn after using her Ultimate, making it extremely valuable for maintaining pressure and burst damage. Not only does her Ultimate deal significant damage, but it also boosts her attack and grants her Skill two additional chances to trigger Sword Stance. These extra Sword Stance activations deal 50% of the original damage, but they are still highly effective, especially against Weakness Broken enemies.
The best way to play Sushang is to use her Skill before immediately following up with her Ultimate. This combo increases the likelihood of enemies becoming Weakness Broken while maximising her burst potential. Since her Ultimate advances her action immediately, she can then use her Skill again to deal massive damage, with Sword Stance guaranteed to activate against Weakness Broken enemies.
Team Advice
Sushang performs best in teams that focus on enabling her powerful single-target burst damage while covering her weaknesses. Since she specialises in dealing heavy damage to one enemy at a time, pairing her with a secondary DPS or supportive sub-DPS helps compensate for her lack of AoE coverage and allows the rest of her team to handle enemies that are not weak to Physical damage.
Support characters that increase speed, attack, or weakness break are especially valuable for Sushang. Characters like Bronya can grant her additional turns and increase her overall damage output, while Ruan Mei helps improve break efficiency so enemies become Weakness Broken faster while also increasing her overall damage. Pela is another strong option thanks to her defence reduction, allowing Sushang's burst damage to be even more powerful.
Sushang also benefits heavily from teams that can help maintain Skill Point economy. Since her play style revolves around repeatedly using her skill for Sword Stance and burst damage, SP efficient supports and sustain units are extremely useful. Luocha and Huohuo are excellent sustain options, with Luocha offering strong healing without constantly consuming skill points, while Huohuo provides healing alongside valuable energy regeneration.
When playing Sushang, the goal is to funnel offensive buffs and Skill Points into her so she can continuously chain turns and maximise her burst potential through her skill. Properly timing weakness breaks is extremely important, as broken enemies guarantee Sword Stance activations and significantly increase her damage output. By combining turn handling, offensive buffs and consistent weakness breaks, Sushang can quickly overpower enemies before they complete a full turn cycle.
