Introductions

The Herta is a 5-Star character with the Ice element who follows the Path of Erudition. The Herta is main DPS who does exceptionally well in both general and endgame content. The Herta's gameplay focuses on building stacks of "Interpretation," which significantly increase her DMG multipliers, allowing her to deal large amounts of damage through her enhanced skill.
Our The Herta Build Guide will show you the best Light Cones, Relics, and team compositions to help you build the best The Herta.

The Herta's Best Light Cone

Listed below are the Light Cones we recommend for The Herta.

Into the Unreachable Veil
S1
Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0%. When the wearer uses their Ultimate, increases the wearer's Skill DMG and Ultimate DMG dealt by 60.0 / 70.0 / 80.0 / 90.0 / 100%, lasting for 3 turn(s). After the wearer uses their Ultimate, if this Ultimate consumed 140 or more Energy, recovers 1 Skill Point.

Into the Unreachable Veil is The Herta's signature and best-in-slot Light Cone, offering a significant boost to her overall damage while complementing her Ultimate-focused playstyle.
Today Is Another Peaceful Day
S5
After entering battle, increases the wearer's DMG based on their Max Energy. Each point of Energy increases DMG by 0.2 / 0.25 / 0.3 / 0.35 / 0.4%. A max of 160 Energy will be taken into account for this.

Sources: Nameless Glory
A strong alternative for The Herta thanks to her Ultimate's high Energy cost, allowing her to gain a substantial damage boost without requiring any specific team composition or conditions.
Night on the Milky Way
S1
For every enemy on the field, increases the wearer's ATK by 9.0 / 10.5 / 12.0 / 13.5 / 15.0%, up to 5 stacks. When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0 / 45.0 / 50.0% for 1 turn.

Sources: Stellar Warp
This Light Cone increases The Herta's ATK based on the number of enemies on the field and further boosts her DMG when an enemy is Weakness Broken. It performs best in battles with multiple enemies, allowing The Herta to take full advantage of its effects.
Geniuses' Repose
S5
Increases the wearer's ATK by 16.0 / 20.0 / 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 24.0 / 30.0 / 36.0 / 42.0 / 48.0% for 3 turn(s).

Sources: Stellar Warp
The Day The Cosmos Fell
S5
Increases the wearer's ATK by 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0 / 22.0 / 24.0%. When the wearer uses an attack and at least 2 attacked enemies have the corresponding Weakness, the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 20.0 / 25.0 / 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0%, lasting for 2 turn(s).

Sources: Forgotten Hall Store
Best suited for content with multiple enemies with matching Weaknesses, providing a solid ATK boost with a CRIT DMG increase.
Eternal Calculus
S5
Increases the wearer's ATK by 8.0 / 9.0 / 10.0 / 11.0 / 12.0%. After using an attack, for each enemy target hit, additionally increases ATK by 4.0 / 5.0 / 6.0 / 7.0 / 8.0%. This effect can stack up to 5 times and last until the next attack. If there are 3 or more enemy targets hit, this unit's SPD increases by 8.0 / 10.0 / 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0%, lasting for 1 turn(s).

Sources: Herta's Store
A solid free-to-play option for AoE DPS like The Herta, providing scaling ATK and a small SPD boost when she attacks multiple enemies, making it particularly effective in AoE encounters.

Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for The Herta

Best Relics for The Herta

These are the best Relic sets for The Herta.

Scholar Lost in Erudition
2-Piece Set: Increases CRIT Rate by 8.0%.
4-Piece Set: Increases DMG dealt by Skill and Ultimate by 20.0%. After using Ultimate, additionally increases the DMG dealt by the next Skill by 25.0%.
Scholar is The Herta's best overall Relic set, providing CRIT Rate and increasing the damage of her Skill and Ultimate, which make up a large portion of her overall damage.
Genius of Brilliant Stars
2-Piece Set: Increases Quantum DMG by 10.0%.
4-Piece Set: When the wearer deals DMG to the target enemy, ignores 10.0% DEF. If the target enemy has Quantum Weakness, the wearer additionally ignores 10.0% DEF.
A strong alternative that can perform particularly well against specifically Quantum Weak enemies, giving The Herta valuable DEF Ignore and allowing her to deal more damage against targets she can fully use the set against.
Hunter of Glacial Forest
2-Piece Set: Increases Ice DMG by 10.0%.
4-Piece Set: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their CRIT DMG increases by 25.0% for 2 turn(s).
After The Herta uses her Ultimate, which she frequently does, her CRIT DMG is enhanced. As long as she uses her Ultimate at least every two turns, she will have a consistent CRIT DMG buff.
Poet of Mourning Collapse
2-Piece Set: Increases Quantum DMG by 10.0%.
4-Piece Set: Decreases the wearer's SPD by 8.0%. Before entering battle, if the wearer's SPD is lower than 110/95, increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 20.0%/32.0%. This effect applies to the wearer's memosprite at the same time.
Poet of Mourning Collapse is a niche option that can outperform other sets, but only on specific builds. It requires The Herta to stay below 110/95 Speed before combat but rewards her with a 20/32% CRIT Rate boost.

Best Planar Ornaments

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0%. When entering battle, if at least one teammate follows the same Path as the wearer, then the wearer's CRIT Rate increases by 12.0%.
Izumo is a great set for The Herta, but it can be more restrictive as it requires another ally to follow the Path of Erudition for The Herta to make use of its full CRIT Rate effect. This shouldn't be an issue as The Herta wants another ally in the team who follows the same Path in order to gain the additional DMG multipliers from her Talent.
Rutilant Arena
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8.0%. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 70.0% or higher, DMG dealt by Basic ATK and Skill increases by 20.0%.
Another decent set for The Herta. It increases her CRIT Rate and DMG from her Basic ATK and Skill. This set requires her to have a CRIT Rate of at least 70%.
Sigonia, the Unclaimed Desolation
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 4.0%. When an enemy target gets defeated, the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 4.0%, stacking up to 10 time(s).
Sigonia is a viable alternative to Izumo in Pure Fiction, where reaching its maximum stacks is consistent. Its performance is less reliable in other modes with fewer enemies.
Firmament Frontline: Glamoth
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0%. When the wearer's SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12.0%/18.0% more DMG.
Offers increased ATK but requires at least 135/160 SPD for the additional 12%/18% DMG.

The Herta Build Comments

Character Overview Kit Overview Team Synergy

Character Overview

The Herta is a powerful Ice Erudition DPS that performs just as well against single targets as she does in AoE content. Her damage revolves around building up Interpretation stacks before releasing an Enhanced Skill with an enormous damage multiplier. Unlike most Erudition characters, she actively wants another Erudition ally in the party, gaining extra damage while also providing valuable team-wide buffs. Thanks to her flexible damage and strong scaling, she's a top-tier main DPS.

Kit Overview

The Herta's kit focuses on building up Interpretation stacks before consuming them for huge burst damage with her Enhanced Skill. Her Skill hits in several stages, starting as a single-target attack before expanding into Blast and full AoE damage. On its own, it's a solid ability, but the real damage comes from her Enhanced Skill, which becomes available after using her Ultimate.

The Herta's Talent is what ties the whole kit together. Interpretation stacks are automatically applied to enemies and transfer between targets when one is defeated, so you're constantly building towards stronger Enhanced Skills. The more stacks on the main target, the stronger the Enhanced Skill hits, and bringing a second Erudition character pushes that power even further.

Her Ultimate isn't just there for damage; it sets up the rest of her kit. It redistributes Interpretation stacks onto priority targets, advances her next turn, and grants an Inspiration stack, allowing her to immediately follow up with an Enhanced Skill. Because of this, keeping her Ultimate available as often as possible is a major part of playing her effectively.

The Bonus Abilities make the rotation much smoother. Allies can help generate Interpretation stacks and restore her Energy by attacking multiple enemies, while running two Erudition characters unlocks a powerful team-wide CRIT DMG buff. Together, these effects make her rotations more consistent and greatly increase both her personal damage and the team's overall output.

Team Synergy

The Herta performs best in teams built around frequent attacks and strong Energy generation. Since her Ultimate is essential for accessing her Enhanced Skill, allies that attack often or hit multiple enemies help her cycle Ultimates much more consistently. Her ideal setup can include a second Erudition character to activate her additional Talent scaling and powerful CRIT DMG buff, a Harmony support that boosts her overall damage, especially those offering team wide buffs or a sustain that can contribute attacks without sacrificing survivability.

Characters such as Anaxa and Himeko work well as Erudition allies, while supports like Sunday and Robin can provide valuable offensive support depending on the team. The Herta's weaknesses are her high Skill Point consumption and heavy reliance on frequent Ultimates. If Energy generation slows down or there are fewer enemies to attack, her damage can drop noticeably. However, the right teammates can help mitigate these weaknesses by improving Energy generation, managing Skill Points, and maintaining consistent damage output.
