Gems
As a Brewmaster Monk, it is essential to reach the Expertise Rating cap (15%) and the Hit Rating cap (7.5%). You go for the socket bonus in your gem slos almost all of the time, prioritizing gems with secondary stats over gems with pure Agility, because secondary-stat gems give double the secondary stat, compared to primary stat gems giving only 1x the main stat. Reaching the socket bonus is almost always worth it. Which stats you should gem at your current gear, can be derived from the Brewmaster Monk Stats and Stat Priority Guide.

Consumables
Consumables provide temporary, but impactful bonuses to a Brewmaster Monk's performance.
Food
You should always be eating the food that provides the highest amount of Agility. In comparison to Agility, Stamina is not a very strong stat for Brewmasters, so your options are:
- 300 Agility:
Sea Mist Rice Noodles,
Seasoned Pomfruit Slices and
Pandaren Treasure Noodle Soup
- 275 Agility:
Deluxe Noodle Soup,
Valley Stir Fry,
Great Banquet of the Wok and
Banquet of the Wok
- 250 Agility:
Noodle Soup and
Sauteed Carrots
Flasks and Potions
For survivability you generally want Elixirs. The only exception
here is Flask of the Earth, which is helpful in fights with
a lot of magic damage. If survivability is no concern, and you want
do deal more damage instead, use
Flask of Spring Blossoms.
If you use elixirs, your best Battle Elixir options are
Monk's Elixir (Mastery),
Elixir of Weaponry (Expertise cap)
and
Mad Hozen Elixir (Crit), paired with the Guardian Elixir
Mantid Elixir (Armor). The best combination of your for elixirs
depends on your stat priority,
which depends on the way you want to play your Brewmaster Monk.
The best potion choice depends on the fight and your role and playstyle. If you lean towards
doing maximum damage, Virmen's Bite will be best. Should your role be soaking
many hard melee hits,
Potion of the Mountains for physical damages reduction through
armor. If you expect a lot of magic damage,
Master Healing Potion is the best
potion you can use.
