What is the When Dreams Remain Unfinished Event About?
Yidhari will lead you straight inside of her dreams. Will you be able to fight her inner demons and survive?
How do you Participate in When Dreams Remain Unfinished?
In order to participate you will need to reach Inter-Knot level 15 and complete Agent Story Mole in the Hole.
For the best experience, we also recommended you complete the Main Story Season 2 Chapter 4 Memories of Dreams Bygone before participating in this event.
To start the event, you need to make your way to the Echo Chamber in Failume Heights to meet Lucia and Komano Manato.
Here, you will enter Yidhari's dream and uncover fragments of her lost memories. As the event progresses, new Dream areas will gradually unlock, giving you more opportunities for Dream Investigation.
In the menu, you can access your companion database, which will list all the one you already own. In order to start an investigation, you want to head into Dream Investigation first. Once all the quests are completed, you will have access to the Simulation Challenge.
Each Investigation contains multiple story and combat stages. Do not let it fool you, story does not mean you will not have to fight! The only issue is, you are in a dream, and it turns out, you need Ethereals to fight Ethereals in there. You will quickly learn that only Lucia can tame the Ethereal.
Event Gameplay: Monster Duels
In this event, you can command up to four allied monster companions in a duel. The battle system works in turns, with each side using skills in a pre-set order.
During the fight, you control your Ethereals. You can select one skill to use per turn. After you select your skill, select the target and cast it. You can also move around to reposition your monster.
Skills are colored from weak to strong: Green, blue, purple, and orange. Some skill will restore your Energy, and others will consume it.
During the opponent's turn you can use Instant Interactions (basically QTE) at the right moment to dodge enemy attacks or boost your allies' skills.
Some monsters can Mark enemies. Marked enemies take more DMG. You have to use support monsters in order to apply marks. DPS monsters will then consume those marks to deal Aftershock DMG.
There are 3 monster categories: Mechanical, Biological, and Ethereal. DMG works in a triangle, so Ethereal counters Mechanical, Mechanical counters Biological, and Biological counters Ethereal. You deal more DMG to the type you counter, and less to the one you are weak to.
Winning duels allows you to collect new monsters to join your roster as companions.
Each Ethereal has different skills and powers, so use them wisely. During the first few stages, you only have access to a small amount, so until you can form a squad of 4 monsters, simply use those at your disposition.
You will also unlock Plug-ins that you can add to your team for some bonuses.
Best Monsters to Pick
The game will recommend you the best Monsters by showing a thumb-up on them. It is often the best choice, so you should always pick among the recommended monsters.
Here are some of the best choices that can be useful in multiple situations:
- Dullahan - Overall a good unit as he groups up enemies and can mark multiple targets with one attack
- Ionized Nassellaria - Can deal a lot of AoE DMG and recovers Energy based on the number of enemies hit
- Thracian - Can deal DMG to all marked enemies, and can act a second time in a row
- Terror Raptor - Good burst DMG
- Medium Patroller - Very good to restore energy regularly
- Rampant Brute - Buffs itself and pulls in enemies before dealing massive AoE DMG with its burst
- Flame Dreamer - Can be used to buff and increase speed of other units
- Dreaming Hymnist - Can buff others
