Chen Qianyu Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Chen Qianyu build guide for Arknights: Endfield. Chen Qianyu is a 5-star Sword Guard Character available in Arknights: Endfield who utilizes the Physical element.

In our Chen Qianyu guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Chen Qianyu, from building the best Gear and Weapons, to important stat priorities and combos.

Chen Qianyu's Best Weapons

Rapid Ascent
  • Main Attribute +132 (9/9)
  • Crit Rate +19.5% (9/9)

Twilight: Azure Clouds (4/9):
Battle skills and ultimates gain Physical DMG Dealt +24%.
Against Staggered enemies, battle skills and ultimates also gain DMG Dealt +56%.
Rapid Ascent is a 6-star weapon that offers all the attributes Chen Qianyu needs: Agility, Physical damage, and bonus damage against staggered enemies. Physical have a much easier time staggering enemies, so you will be able to benefit from the bonuses of this weapon quite regularly with Chen, so make sure you got your Battle Skill and Ultimate locked and loaded before a Stagger when wearing this.
Sundering Steel
  • Agility +124 (9/9)
  • Physical DMG +34.67% (9/9)

Combative: Anthem of Cinder (9/9):
Cd : +0.1
ATK +14%.
When the wielder deals a Physical Status, the wielder gains ATK +21% for 20s.
Max stacks for effects of the same name: 2. Duration of each stack is counted separately. Effect only triggers once every 0.1s.
Sundering Steel is a 5-star weapon that boosts Chen's Agility and Physical DMG. The weapon buff itself is decent, but Chen cannot apply Vulnerable directly, instead relying on her Combo Skill to lift enemies, which will in turn cause Vulnerable. This means she is unlikely to get high uptime on a double-stack of the weapon's passive.
Wave Tide
  • Wisdom +93 (9/9)
  • Attack +23.4% (9/9)

Pursuit: Unending Cycle (9/9):
When the wielder casts a combo skill, the wielder gains ATK +33.6% for 20s.
Effects of the same name cannot stack.
Wave Tide is a cost-efficient 4-star option if you do not have any higher rarity weapons available yet. Triggering Chen's Combo Skill is quite simple, so maintaining uptime on the passive skill is not difficult at all.

Best Gear for Chen Qianyu

Swordmancer
3-piece set effect: Wearer's Stagger Efficiency Bonus +20%.
When the wearer applies a Physical Status, the wearer also performs 1 hit that deals 250% ATK of Physical DMG and [10 Stagger]. Effect trigger cooldown: 15s.

The Swordmancer set is a great choice for Chen, further boosting her ability to stagger and deal damage to the enemy. Physical teams are all about staggering enemies to set up big Physical bursts, so you might end up having multiple characters in the team that are all decked out in this set. Like a Uniform.

  • Body: Swordmancer Set — Agility, Strength, Arts Intensity
  • Gloves: Swordmancer Set — Agility, Strength, Ultimate DMG%
  • Kit 1: Swordmancer Set — Agility, Strength, Physical DMG%
  • Kit 2: Swordmancer Set — Agility, Strength, Physical DMG%

You want to equip the same kit twice, the Swordmancer Flint, as it grants a lot Physical Damage. For the chest-piece you can choose to instead craft the Bonekrusha chest with Agility, Strength, and some Combo Skill damage.

Leveling Gear for Chen Qianyu

AIC Heavy
3-piece set effect: Wearer's HP +500.
When the wearer defeats an enemy, restore 100 HP. Effect trigger cooldown: 5s.

The AIC Heavy set is a great choice for Chen while your trekking across the early parts of Talos II, at least until you reach endgame or your first Blue Tier Gear. To get the best stats this early where options are limited, we'll be mixing in the Miner Gauntlets as well.

  • Body: AIC Heavy Set — Agility, Strength, All DMG Taken Reduction
  • Gloves: Miner Gauntlets Set — Agility, Strength, HP
  • Kit 1: AIC Heavy Set — Agility, All DMG Taken Reduction
  • Kit 2: AIC Heavy Set — Agility, All DMG Taken Reduction

You'll want to use the same main stat since Chen Scales best with Agility and this way you also get the set bonus.

Chen Qianyu's Skill Priority

Skill Priority: Ascending Strike > Blade Gale = Soar to the Stars > Soaring Break

Chen Qianyu's main use is to stagger enemies by interrupting them with your Battle Skill. Both her Combo Skill and Ultimate deal respectable damage, while Basic Attacks are rarely useful to level unless they are your Controlled Operator a lot of the time.

How to Play Chen Qianyu

Chen is a Vulnerable application monster, with her Battle Skill applying it directly, while her Combo Skill lifts enemies, which also adds one stack. This makes her particularly useful in teams that can trigger her Combo skill almost on cooldown. You will want to space out the use of her Battle Skill, and never use it immediately after one of her Combo Skills.

This is because one of her Talents grants a stacking buff whenever one of her skills is used. If you end up having some gaps in your Vulnerable applications, using her Battle Skill will add a stack of her own, but more important, it will maintain and keep stacking her Slashing Edge ATK buff on herself. The buff only lasts 10 seconds, so cycling through her Battle Skill and Combo Skill will be important if you want to make the most out of Chen, and having both skills cast one after another leaves very little wiggle room to keep its uptime, especially if you use her Battle Skill right after her Combo Skill.
