On this page, you will find the best gear and best-in-slot items for your Reaper DPS in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail (Patch 7.01).

1.

Reaper Gearsets (BiS)

This section covers the endgame best-in-slot gear sets for Reaper in different endgame content. The gear sets are made by calculating the average DPS output of the rotation with a given stat set and comparing it to other options. If you are interested in making your own gear sets and comparison, you can check out the DPS gear planner.

If you are currently gearing up your Reaper, you can find more information about the stat priorities and effects in our guide's melding section.

Patch 7.01 Gearsets

Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the current normal mode raid tier and you can only obtain a few pieces each week.

This is considered the Economy Set because it uses no Crafted pieces or overmelds and will be significantly cheaper. It is weaker than a fully pentamelded crafted set.

At the time of writing this Etro is not updated with Normal Mode Gear. Below you can find the pieces, their melds and the recommended buy orders:

  • Head: Light-heavy Bandana of Maiming
    • Savage Aim XII (Critical Hit Rate)
    • Savage Might XII (Determination)
  • Hands: Light-heavy Halfgloves of Maiming
    • Savage Aim XII (Critical Hit Rate)
    • Savage Might XII (Determination)
  • Hands: Light-heavy Greaves of Maiming
    • Quickarm XII (Skillspeed)
    • Heavens' Eye XII (Direct Hit Rate)
  • Hands: Light-heavy Halfgloves of Maiming
    • Savage Might XII (Determination)
  • Normal Mode Week 1: Head and Hands
  • Normal Mode Week 2: Boots and Ring

Note: That Head, Hands and Boots requires 2 tokens each and a head token can't be obtained on floor 4, while a boot token can't be obtained on floor 3. The ring only requires 1 token and can be acquired on any floor.

Dragonsong's Reprise Best-in-Slot

With the arrival of Patch 6.3 and the new dungeon, Lapis Manalis, dropping iLevel 605 gear, we are now able to cap item level on certain pieces to make a stronger build, averaging about 1% higher in DPS compared to previous sets.

Portions of these gear sets can only be acquired by completing the Asphodelos raid tier. A guide for the content can be found links below.

2.5.

The Epic of Alexander (TEA) Best in Slot

We’ve decided to not include full gear sets for The Epic of Alexander, as your gear choices make very little difference in how much damage you do due to how gear syncs and removes melds. The item level listed below will outline what item level is required to max out both substats on gear for the fight. All gear above the specified item level will work:
  • Item level 595
2.6.

The Weapon's Refrain (UWU) Best in Slot

We’ve decided to not include full gear sets for The Weapon's Refrain, as your gear choices make very little difference in how much damage you do due to how gear syncs and removes melds. The item level listed below will outline what item level is required to max out both substats on gear for the fight. All gear above the specified item level will work:
  • Item level 500
2.7.

The Unending Coil of Bahamut (UCoB) Best in Slot

We’ve decided to not include full gear sets for The unending Coil of Bahamut, as your gear choices make very little difference in how much damage you do due to how gear syncs and removes melds. The item level listed below will outline what item level is required to max out both substats on gear for the fight. All gear above the specified item level will work:
  • Item level 470
