Windurst: The Third Walk Alliance Raid Guide
Welcome to our guide to Windurst: The Third Walk, the third and final wing of the Echoes of Vanadiel Alliance Raid. This guide aims to provide players with a quick explanation of mechanics encountered so they have an idea of what to expect in the raid.
Introduction
Windurst: The Third Walk is the third Alliance Raid in Dawntrail.
How to Unlock Windurst: The Third Walk
To unlock Windurst: The Third Walk, players must have completed San d'Oria: The Second Walk, which is unlocked via the sidequest "An Otherworldly Encounter." This quest is from the Hoobigo Messenger at Tuliyollal (x13.0, y11.6). Continuing the quest chain will lead to "The Hollow Promise," which unlocks the Third Walk. Players must have completed the Dawntrail main scenario quests to unlock the raid series.

The Third Raid Guide
Shantotto the Demon
Shantotto the Demon is the first boss fought in the Third Walk.
Shantotto Mechanics
Shantotto uses the following mechanics.
- Flare Play: Raidwide magic damage.
- Vidohunir: Tank buster that needs to be shared by three tanks.
- Empirical Research: Shantotto faces a direction and does a line AoE towards it.
- Superior Stone II: Raidwide damage and creates stone cliffs north and south.
- Groundbreaking Quake: Smashes the stone cliffs together. Find where the north and south cliff are furthest from each other and go in between for a safe spot.
- Diagrammatic Doorway: Summons ley lines on the ground. Jumps to a random ley line. Tethers to multiple ley lines in order, which does mechanics in sequence.
- Circumscribed Fire: A donut AoE around Shantotto. Will cast every jump in Diagrammatic Doorway.
- Localized Blizzard: Cast immediately after the final Circumscribed Fire. A point-blank AoE around the final ley line.
- Thunder and Error: Marked AoEs on players.
- Meteoric Rhyme: AoEs on the ground, with two proximity meteors and a stack marker a while after.
- Shockwave: Shantotto becomes untargetable and drops the meteor, doing raidwide AoE damage. This is followed by multiple circle and line AoEs.
- Aero Dynamics: Places a timer and arrows on a player. When the timer ends, the player is pushed in the direction indicated.
- Final Exam: Multi-hit AoE stack marker.
Shantotto Boss Tips
Here are some tips for defeating the boss successfully.
- Follow Shantotto. If she turns to face a direction, she is probably casting Empirical Research.
- There are four columns for Superior Stone II: find the column where the north and south cliffs are furthest from each other and go to the middle of the arena in that column for the safe spot.
- Follow Shantotto all the way for Circumscribed Fire, but move out after the last one and spread for the ice and lightning attacks.
- For Aero Dynamics, use the cliffs north and south to break the knockback.
Alexander Resurrected
Alexander Resurrected is the second boss in the raid. Before you fight Him, you have to defeat waves of adds in an arena.
Alexander Resurrected Mechanics
Alexander uses the following mechanics.
- Banishga IV: Raidwide magic damage.
- Divine Arrow: A circle spins around Alexander. He faces that direction and does a rotating conal AoE with ring AoEs in the direction the circle rotated in. This is followed by ground AoEs and marked AoEs.
- Impartial Ruling: Two gauges appear on Alexander's right and left. He does a cleave on the side when it fills up.
- Radiant Sacrament: Creates a grid on the arena. Square AoEs will spawn and go down columns before returning. Go beside the first one and move into it when it goes off.
- Divine Spear: Lines around the arena form triangle AoEs on the ground.
- Mega Holy: Multi-hit AoE stack marker on a healer.
- Perfect Defense: Becomes untargetable and invulnerable. Summons four Gordius System adds at intercardinals which must be killed. These do donut or point-blank AoEs.
- Divine Judgment: Massive raidwide damage.
- Electrify: Alexander tethers to two containers, then the other set of two. These do large circle AoEs in order.
Alexander Resurrected Boss Tips
Here are some tips for defeating the boss successfully.
- Note where Divine Arrow starts and which direction it's spinning.
- Three columns will always be hit first for Radiant Sacrament. Go to one of the columns not being hit and move into the AoE when it goes off.
- Stay near the middle for Divine Spear and move out after you know where the AoE is.
- After the adds, the boss combines mechanics at a faster pace.
Promathia
Promathia is the third boss in the raid. You will encounter a mini-boss, Aw'aern and four Aw'zdei adds before the third boss. These do simple AoE mechanics, so dodge and use it as a chance to build gauges.
Promathia Mechanics
Promathia uses the following abilities. Certain abilities create puddles. Players stepping in a puddle will be heavied for a short duration.
- Empty Salvation: Raidwide magical damage. Creates puddles on the floor.
- Fleeting Eternity: Puddles tether to each other. The boss creates a light at the middle that travels to puddles. When the light reaches a puddle, it does a large AoE around it.
- Wheel of Impregnability: A ring around the boss that points inwards and closes in. When the outer ring touches the inner ring, the boss does an AoE in the ring.
- Pestilent Penance: The boss jumps to a corner and does an AoE towards the room. A ring around the boss forms that points outwards and closes in. When the outer ring touches the inner ring, the boss does a donut in the ring.
- False Genesis: Changes the arena to three zones with a Memory Receptable add.
These will do one of three mechanics, then knockback players. Stand in front of a wall
to not get knocked off. Once you kill your add, you can jump to another platform
and help them.
- One will do a rotating line AoE.
- One summons three orbs that point towards a direction, leaving one quadrant safe.
- one summons two sets of AoEs at relative cardinals.
- Deadly Rebirth: Massive raidwide magic damage. Stuns the party.
- Earthbound Heaven: Summons three pink circles that always move in the puddles.
- Malevolent Blessing: Conal AoEs. One of Promathia's wings glow, which indicates a side cleave on that side.
- Infernal Deliverance: Stack markers towers on puddles. Run away immediately since there is an AoE on it right after.
- Meteor: Marked AoEs on all players and tank busters on tanks.
Promathia Boss Tips
Here are some tips for defeating the boss successfully.
- Look where the purple light is moving towards for Fleeting Eternity.
- Promathia jumps to a corner before casting Pestilent Penance.
- During the adds phase, the corners of the platforms will have walls you can stand in front of to not get knocked off for the knockback.
- For Earthbound Heaven, look for the two lights initially close to each other. Since they always move, that is the safe spot.
- Don't go in the middle of the marker for Infernal Deliverance, since you'll have less time to move out of the AoE right after. Stay near the edge to soak it and move out immediately.
Shinryu Paradox
Shinryu Paradox is the first half of the final boss in the Third Walk. Players can fall off the arena. The arena is split into two floors, and certain mechanics will only hit one floor at a time. Falling through the hole will take you to the bottom floor, while the portal takes you to the top floor.
Shinryu Paradox Mechanics
Shinryu Paradox uses the following mechanics.
- Cosmic Breath: AoE that hits the top platform. Go to the bottom platform to dodge.
- Cloak of Twilight: Inflicts players with a light or dark cloak. Do not get hit by a mechanic of the opposite color.
- Twilight Nebula: Roomwide AoE. One platform will have a light attack while the other platform has the dark attack.
- Starcrossed: Line AoEs that form an intersection.
- Cosmic Tail: AoE that hits the bottom platforms. Go to the top platform to dodge.
- Cataclysmic Vortex: Players receive a timer and a marker on top
of their head. Failure to obey will set the player's HP to 1.
- A pause indicates to stop moving and taking actions.
- A play indicates to keep moving.
- A gaze indicates to look away.
- A gaze with a question mark indicates to look at the boss.
- Dark Nova: AoE tank buster.
Shinryu Paradox Boss Tips
Here are some tips for defeating the boss successfully.
- Go to the bottom platform if Cosmic Breath is being cast and the top platform if Cosmic Tail is being cast.
- Go to the platform as the same color as your debuff to dodge the AoE.
- Obey Cataclysmic Vortex's instructions. If tanks fail this mechanic, they'll be set to 1 HP and likely instantly die to an auto-attack.
Hollow King
Hollow King is the second half of the final boss in the Third Walk.
Hollow King Mechanics
Hollow King uses the following mechanics.
- Towers: Summons towers at the front of the arena which must be soaked by a player. This leaves a debuff, meaning the player will not be able to take two towers in succession.
- Empty Proclamation: Raidwide magic damage.
- Left Swordscross: Attacks the right half of the arena and diagonally across going from top right to bottom left.
- Right Swordscross: Attacks the left half of the arena and diagonally across going from top left to bottom right.
- Twin Blaze: Two orbs appear at the front. Does these two AoEs at the front of the arena on either side. Dodge to the side with the donut AoE.
- Cataclysmic Blade: Uses Cataclysmic Vortex with triangle AoEs that spawn from the boss.
- Burst: Ring AoEs from the two sides of the arena.
- Cosmic Flame: Exaflare AoEs that spawn at the east and west of the arena and travel across.
- Atomic Ray: Two line AoEs that move together with a timer before it snapshots.
- Super Nova: Multi-hit AoE stack marker.
Hollow King Boss Tips
Here are some tips for defeating the boss successfully.
- For Swordscross, just go to the direction the mechanic says.
- Move to the front of the arena and react for Twin Blaze.
- To dodge Cosmic Flame easily, go to the edge where an AoE spawns and start beside it. Move into the AoE once it goes off and stay there.
- Make sure to take a tower at the beginning. If you already took one,
refrain from taking another one.
Rewards
Each alliance has their own treasure coffer after each boss, which has two pieces of gear. Only one equipment piece can be acquired from the raid each week.
The final treasure coffer contains a
Wind-up Prishe,
3x
