Zadina 923 Report post Posted July 24, 2018 Priest keeps being the best class for taking a glimpse and/or copying the opponent's cards and this new spell is no exception! Cloning Device was unveiled by Eurogamer.net: This card can give you valuable information about minions in your opponent's deck, the same way that Chameleos can show you the opponent's hand. The Discover element gives Cloning Device more versatility compared to Priest's other stealing tools, like Thoughtsteal. My issue with this card is that you shouldn't rely on the opponent's deck to give you an advantage. Moreover, with netdecking being so popular, meta decks being prominent from Rank 25 all the way to Legend and most tournaments publishing deck lists, the informational element of the card is also weakened. It seems that Priests in The Boomsday Project will have more stealing/copying synergy as their Legendary minion is called Zerek the Cloner, according to the first Boomsday Project digital comic. Let us know what you think about this card and check out the rest of the revealed cards from The Boomsday Project in our dedicated hub.
Migol 237 Report post Posted July 24, 2018 I like this card better than the op because it's likely able to fix a gap wherever you are in curve when you play this. Playing it on turn 2 gives you info on -which- druid type you're playing against, and lets you get a turn 3/4 minion most of the time. Playing it late game can conversely get you a powerful high cost minion.
FanOfValeera 253 Report post Posted July 24, 2018 This reminds me of infamous Drakonid Operative. That was a great card, this will be good too. Apparently, that was better because of Netherspite Historian, and dragon synergy. This is fine too. It will work in control priest archetypes because it has good value. So, this is fine, probably at least one copy in many priest decks.
Bozonik 94 Report post Posted July 25, 2018 Seems bad to me. Sure, occasionally you’ll find a clever way to use a hadronox or Shudderwock but most of the time you’re just spending 2 mana doing nothing and getting a minion in your hand that you don’t really want. I totally agree. The comparison to Drakonid Operative is completly lost to me - it is a 5/6 minion for 5 mana. Even without the battlecry it is a decent card. With the battlecry triggering it is awesome. The new card is a 0/0 for 2 mana.

Play DrakOP on turn 5, you get a 5/6 minion on board and a new card in hand (which could often be a spell that gave you reach, something Priest doesn’t have much access to). Play Cloning Device on 5, you get a Tar Creeper from the opponent’s deck on board (for instance). Woohoo.
VaraTreledees 138 Report post Posted July 26, 2018 This card is almost so bad it is offensive imo. So many "discover" cards like this are rated at 1 mana. This one is at 2. Most the 1 mana ones only saw play with additional synergy from your deck, hallucination in miracle decks etc. Terrible terrible card.
