N'Zoth Fight Either Changed or Bugged, Limit at 20%

Recommended Posts

Update: well, it wasn't a bug and the fight has indeed changed, as Limit have received a mail from Blizzard explaining that there IS NO second gate/Chamber phase and they just have to kill the boss. They've pushed to 18% and there was no immune shield or Gate being available, so that's it for the fight, which quite obviously was not planned.

_____________________________________________________

We have some more N'Zoth drama, as there's some funny business occurring for Complexity Limit's pulls. They've consistently been getting the boss down under 30% and have had several pulls at 25.5%, when the bosses immunity shield would trigger and they were expected to go to the gate and enter the Chamber of Heart for a seond and final time. However, on the last 2 pulls they've either managed to get the same bug twice in a row OR Blizzard have hotfixes the boss yet again and changed the final Heart phase to trigger at 20%. If it is a bug it has something to do with the boss casting one of his spells at exactly the same time his HP hits 25.5% and it somehow prevents him from activating his immune shield and opening up the gateway once more.

Here's the second time the "bug" happened and discussion about it afterwards, from a very frustrated Limit (and remember, each of these pulls is around 13 minutes?

And here's the previous, regular 25.5% trigger when they managed to actually get back to the gate across a sea of Anguish, but instantly died before reaching the Chamber.

The big question now is, what happens when they win that phase? Does the cannon just immediately kill N'Zoth, ending the fight then and there? Or do they just bust his shield and maybe get some sort of buff for the final 25.5%? The other big issue, after they've figured out the perfect Anguish placement, is the Heart of Azeroth neck management, as they need to use a number of them in the second Chamber of Heart phase.

Yipes.   Firing 800 people including Q&A/testers during your best financial year ever may not have been the best move...

The 800 people fired were almost all outside of Blizzard, in the rest of Activision, IIRC. Assuming you're referring to the 2018 firings.

But yes, bugs and other QA concerns have been considerably worse recently.

This entire thing is just baffling, either there really was something there and they couldn't get it to work properly or they just sat there and watched a guild spend a day running into bugs and unintended gateway spawns without saying anything.

I mean maybe I'm reading too much into this but it's a bit too convenient of a bug to have a boss repeatedly put up his immunity shield and a new gateway spawning at an exact health value and Blizz doesn't bother to tell the guild(s) smashing their face into it for hours that it's not supposed to happen. It's sad either way.

Thougt the same while reading. It seems Blizzard just removed an additional phase because they could not fix it that fast. This whole encounter is getting ridiculous more and more 😄

With weekly maintenance on February 25, more Coalescing Visions will start dropping from Assaults and Daily Quests. Blizzard is also removing the (5) inventory cap on Vessel of Horrific Visions, allowing you to cary as many as you like, and up to 4 Torn Pages of "Fear and Flesh" will drop in Horrific Visions on the rank 7-11 Legendary cloak upgrade quests (up from 2).

We’re working on a set of hotfixes to the game that should streamline upgrading your Legendary cloak via Horrific Visions.
Coalescing Visions now drop in higher numbers from Assaults and Daily Quests. The Unique (5) inventory cap on Vessel of Horrific Visions has been removed, allowing you to carry as many Vessels as you like. Up to 4 Torn Pages of "Fear and Flesh" quest items can now drop in Horrific Visions from objectives on the rank 7-11 Legendary cloak upgrade quests (was a max of 2). You’ll need to clear more than two sides areas in one run to get more than two pages. The rank 13-15 quests will still drop a max of 2 pages, only from Lost Area objectives. These updates will go into effect with weekly maintenance (Tuesday, February 25 in this region).

The beta opt-in support page has been recently updated and now would be a good time to opt in for Shadowlands Beta if you haven't done that already.
        Blizzard (Source)
To put your name into the pool of candidates interested in beta testing for Shadowlands, sign up on the Shadowlands home page using the Beta Opt-In link at the top of the page.

Signing up for beta does not guarantee you will be chosen to participate, but players who have not signed up to indicate interest cannot be chosen. Customer Support is not able to provide access to beta. Blizzard has released the first encrypted Shadowlands Alpha build earlier this week and added the forthcoming expansion to the Battle.net App Catalog, suggesting that Friends & Family Alpha is really close. Opt in for Shadowlands Beta by visiting the link below!
