Sucrose is a 4-star Anemo Catalyst character that brings an Elemental Mastery boost to any team. She excels with Elemental Burst teams, adding a simple 'off-field' play style to power up other characters and their abilities. Not only can she boost damage for the rest of the team, but she can use her skills to group enemies up into packs and help to control the flow of battle.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Powerful Elemental Mastery Buff.
- Massive Team Versatility.
- Reliable both On-field and Off-field.
- Great CC from both Skill and Burst.
- Challenging to target desired elements to absorb with Burst.
- High Energy Cost Burst.
- Constellations feel required.
Elemental Support Sucrose
Sucrose's primary role is buffing other Elemental Damage dealers. She has a simple and fast rotation, swap her into the field and use her Elemental Skill to pull enemies together than boost another Element's DMG with her Elemental Burst. Now your ready to switch to another Sub DPS role and create some elemental reactions. Lastly, have your Main DPS join the party and watch the numbers explode. She can also be an On-field Driver, using her skills as the final trigger for chain reactions to devastate your enemies. Sucrose can repeat both these processes quite quickly and she is an amazing addition to any Elemental Burst team.

Sucrose is solely focused on Elemental Mastery when it comes down to her weapon and Artifact choices. As for her Artifact selection there are two clear choices, Viridescent Venerer for its abilities to shred enemy RES and boost both Anemo and Swirl DMG. The Instructor set works for early game potential (pre-AR 45) and easily acquired. When it comes to her desired sub stats, we fall back to focusing on Energy Recharge and continue to stack Elemental Mastery. In either On or Off-field scenarios, aim for an Energy Recharge of 120% for On-field play and 160% for Off-field.
Combos and How to Play Sucrose
When using Sucrose on your team, your first priority is to understand which reactions you should be targeting to maximize your damage. Sucrose has half-a-dozen teams she can be an effectively Off-fielder, and several more as an on-field driver. Each team has a unique style of targeting a different Elemental Reaction all with powerful results so you need to understand the three main reactions: Transformative, Amplifying and Additive.
- Transformative reactions use Elemental Mastery and Character levels to determine their damage. These reactions are: Bloom, Burgeon, Burning, Electro-Charged, Hyperbloom, Overloaded, Shatter, Superconduct and Swirl. These reactions typically ignore enemy defense stats and focus solely on their elemental Resistances which means you can target a given elemental weakness.
- Amplifying reactions scale from offensives stats on your characters and can CRIT. These hits are then multiplied by a reaction multiplier when triggered.. These reactions include: Melt and Vaporize.
- Additive reactions are similar to Transformative reactions in that they scale from Elemental Mastery and Character Level, but can also benefit from % DMG and CRITs. These reactions include: Aggravate and Spread.
Every team that uses Sucrose will be driving for these triggered reactions and its important to develop your rotations, timing and needed stats to trigger massive damage. Overall, Sucrose is a powerful elemental ally with a huge versatility and very little talent investment.
Sucrose's Best Team Comps
Again, Sucrose can fit into so many teams, it can difficult to select which team preforms the best rather each one excels at different situations. However, with that being said we have chosen our team build based upon character availability (4 stars vs 5 stars), ease of play and overall damage potential.
Sucrose National Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Pyro buffer |
---|---|---|---|
Xiangling | Xingqiu | Sucrose | Bennett |
This team takes full advantage of the powerful Elemental Mastery stacking and buff provided by both Sucrose and Bennett. Using Xiangling's powerful Pyronado you can build up some huge Vaporize DMG. Using this team you will need to develop your timing and skill using Xiangling's Guoba Attack in combination with Sucrose's Astable Anemohypostasis Creation - 6308 to create a Pyro Swirl.
Sucrose Taser Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Shielder |
---|---|---|---|
Sucrose | Xingqiu | Kuki Shinobu | Beidou |
This is a great survival team with healing from Kuki Shinobu and Beidou's powerful Stormbreaker which provides a good deal of DMG Reduction for Sucrose to be on-field driving reactions. This simple rotation doesn't provide massive damage numbers but triggers so many times against enemies that your damage will stack up quickly. Using Sucrose to trigger Swirl and Electro-Charged DMG is quite simple as long as you keep her defenses up and have Kuki Shinobu's Sanctifying Ring heal at the ready.
Sucrose Aggravate Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS |
---|---|---|---|
Sucrose | Fischl | Kuki Shinobu | Dendro Traveler |
This is fun and easy Aggravate to build with non-stop character swapping, good healing and too many reactions to count. To start this powerful rotation, use both Kuki Shinobu's Elemental Skill Sanctifying Ring and Burst Gyoei Narukami Kariyama Rite. Then swap to Dendro Traveler using his Elemental Burst Surgent Manifestation to tag all of the enemies around you with Dendro. Now swap to Fischl and unleash Oz on to the field with Nightrider. Next, go for Sucrose and dump her skills, dragging the enemies into a big pile. Switching back to your Dendro Traveler to use his Elemental skill Razorgrass Blade this time, while you spam your Normal attacks. Your screen will fill with damage numbers and once they slow down, start everything over again with Kuki. This combination is fast and pays off well.
Overall, there so many other teams that Sucrose is a key component for and the elemental reactions are incredible to watch. She truly is a master of the elements, and she proves that with her amazing versatility.
