A strong support-focused Light Cone for teams that rely on consistently inflicting debuffs. Acheron teams are a notable example, as each debuff generated helps accelerate her Ultimate. On the other hand, this doesn't contribute as much if used outside of debuff teams.

4-Piece Set: Increases the Shield Effect provided by the wearer by 12.0%. When an ally target holds a Shield provided by the wearer, the ally target's CRIT DMG increases by 15.0%.

This is the strongest option because it directly supports Preservation Trailblazer's main role as a shielder, while also increasing the value they provide to the team through additional CRIT DMG for shielded allies.

Knight of Purity Palace

2-Piece Set: Increases DEF by 15.0%.

4-Piece Set: Increases the max DMG that can be absorbed by the Shield created by the wearer by 20.0%.

This is a reliable alternative as it improves Trailblazer's ability to maintain strong shields while also helping the team survive longer. It's particularly useful when you want a more defensive and consistent build.

4-Piece Set: At the beginning of the turn, if the wearer's HP percentage is equal to or less than 50.0%, restores HP equal to 8.0% of their Max HP and regenerates 5 Energy.

If you don't have any decent 4-piece sets available, it's best to pair a 2-piece SPD% set with a 2-piece survivability set, such as , or or other similar sets.

Fleet of the Ageless

2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's Max HP by 12.0%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies' ATK increases by 8.0%.

This is the strongest option because it improves Trailblazer's survivability while also providing a useful ATK boost to the entire team. It becomes especially valuable when Trailblazer reaches 120 SPD, allowing the team-wide buff to be activated.

Broken Keel

2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's Effect RES by 10.0%. When the wearer's Effect RES is at 30.0% or higher, all allies' CRIT DMG increases by 10.0%.

This is another strong Planar Ornament for Preservation Trailblazer, increasing their Effect RES while also granting a team-wide CRIT DMG boost. However, the CRIT DMG buff will only apply if Trailblazer's Effect RES is 30% or higher.

Lushaka, the Sunken Seas

2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's Energy Regeneration Rate by 5.0%. If the wearer is not the first character in the team lineup, then increases the ATK of the first character in the team lineup by 12.0%.

This is useful when an ATK-scaling damage dealer occupies the first team slot.

City of Converging Stars

2-Piece Set: When the wearer uses Follow-Up ATK, increases ATK by 24.0% for 2 turn(s). When an enemy target gets defeated, increases CRIT DMG for all allies by 12.0% in the current battle. This effect cannot stack.

This can work well in content with frequent enemy waves, where its CRIT DMG boost can be activated regularly after defeating enemies. However, its value is more limited for Preservation Trailblazer since they cannot make use of the set's ATK buff.

Trailblazer (Preservation) Build Comments

Preservation Trailblazer is a defensive sustain character who combines protection with damage and good Toughness-breaking potential. Their kit revolves around providing small, frequently refreshed team-wide shields while using Taunt to redirect enemy attacks away from vulnerable allies.

They also provide party-wide damage reduction, making them especially effective against stronger enemies and certain boss mechanics. Although their shields become less effective in late-game content compared to dedicated sustain characters, they remain a valuable option during the early- and mid-game thanks to their flexibility and ability to disrupt enemy targeting.

Their Eidolons further improve their defensive capabilities and damage output. With stronger sustain units and later Trailblazer Paths available, however, their overall usability gradually declines. Despite this, they remain a decent and accessible defensive option.

Trailblazer (Preservation)'s Best Eidolons

E6 – Boosts the Preservation Trailblazer's DEF after using an enhanced Basic ATK or Ultimate, with stackable effects. This increases Shield strength, survivability and overall DEF scaling, making it their best defensive Eidolon.
E2 – Strengthens the Shield granted by the Talent, improving team protection and making it the second-best Eidolon for Preservation Trailblazer.
E4 – Starts battle with Magma Will stacks, allowing quicker access to an enhanced Basic ATK. Improves early rotations but offers little defensive value.
E1 – Adds bonus Fire DMG based on DEF to Basic and enhanced Basic ATKs. Increases personal damage but provides little benefit to their defensive role.
