Introductions

Moze is a 4★ Sub DPS Lightning Character following the Path of Hunt. Moze lurks the battlefield hunting his prey dealing frequent Follow-up ATKs from stealth.
Our Moze Build Guide will show you the best Light Cones, Relics and Team Compositions to have the best Moze you can.

Moze's Best Light Cone

The percentage numbers showcase the relative DPS increase when you take into account both the Lightcone Effect(s) and Cones Base Stats. Moze's Lightcones also showcase DPS differences between their team-wide effectiveness as well as the benefits to Moze's personal damage.

Baptism of Pure Thought (S1)
104.4% (Team) / 118% (Personal)
Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 20.0 / 23.0 / 26.0 / 29.0 / 32.0%. For every debuff on the enemy target, the wearer's CRIT DMG dealt against this target additionally increases by 8.0 / 9.0 / 10.0 / 11.0 / 12.0%, stacking up to 3 times. When using Ultimate to attack the enemy target, the wearer receives the Disputation effect, which increases DMG dealt by 36.0 / 42.0 / 48.0 / 54.0 / 60.0% and enables their Follow-up ATKs to ignore 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0 / 36.0 / 40.0% of the target's DEF. This effect lasts for 2 turns.

Dr Ratio's Signature Lightcone is the best Lightcone for Moze's Personal Damage and is competitive for Team Damage compared to Worrisome, Blissful. Moze only applies two debuffs so you would need one more to cap out this effect. Additionally, this Lightcone's Follow-up buff is excellent for Moze as most of his damage is Follow-up ATK DMG.
Worrisome, Blissful (S1)
104% (Team) / 101% (Personal)
Increase the wearer's CRIT Rate by 18.0 / 21.0 / 24.0 / 27.0 / 30.0% and increases DMG dealt by Follow-up ATK by 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0 / 45.0 / 50.0%. After the wearer uses a Follow-up ATK, inflicts the target with the Tame state, stacking up to 2 time(s). When allies hit enemy targets under the Tame state, each Tame stack increases the CRIT DMG dealt by 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0%.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
Topaz's Signature Lightcone and is an extremely competitive choice for overall Team Damage. The debuff grants CRIT DMG to your entire team which is very strong as units like Feixiao deal significantly more damage than Moze.
This Lightcone is not as effective for Personal Damage as a lot of the DPS gain comes from the Tame Debuff on the enemy boosting your Main DPS's damage.
Swordplay (S5)
101% (Team) / 101% (Personal)
For each time the wearer hits the same target, DMG dealt increases by 8.0 / 10.0 / 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0%, stacking up to 5 time(s). This effect will be dispelled when the wearer changes targets.

Sources: Stellar Warp
This Lightcone provides a stacking DMG % buff whenever you hit an enemy, up to 5 stacks, and resetting if you hit a different enemy. Moze's Follow-up ATKs hit 6 times making it easy to build stacks. Furthermore, Moze cannot target swap easily anyway so the resetting on the Lightcone barely matters.
Cruising in the Stellar Sea (S5)
100% (Team) / 100% (Personal)
Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8.0 / 10.0 / 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0%, and increases their CRIT Rate against enemies with HP percentage 50.0% or less by an extra 8.0 / 10.0 / 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0%. When the wearer defeats an enemy, their ATK is increased by 20.0 / 25.0 / 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0% for 2 turn(s).

Sources: Herta's Store
This Herta Shop Lightcone gives you a lot of CRIT Rate and then gives you even more CRIT Rate against targets below 50% HP. This Lightcone is a bit weaker if there are not additional enemies to keep killing to maintain this ATK% buff.
Moze can find it challenging to land killing blows, if you are struggling to get the ATK % buff consider switching to another lightcone.
Final Victor (S5)
99.3% (Team) / 93% (Personal)
Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0%. When the wearer lands a CRIT hit on enemies, gains 1 stack of Good Fortune. This can stack up to 4 time(s). Every stack of Good Fortune increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 8.0 / 9.0 / 10.0 / 11.0 / 12.0%. Good Fortune will be removed at the end of the wearer's turn.

Sources: Forgotten Hall Store
This is a Priceless Jewels The Hunt Lightcone provides a small amount of ATK % as well as giving you stacks of a buff whenever you land a CRIT Hit. This ends up being surprisingly good for Moze thanks to the Departed mechanic associated with his talent Cascading Featherblade. Overall, this Lightcone at S5 outperforms Swordplay until approximately S3.

Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for Moze

Best Relics for Moze

These are the best Relic Sets to build for Moze. The percentage shows the relative difference to Moze's best performing set.

Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
100%
2-Piece Set: Increases DMG dealt to enemies with debuffs by 12.0%.
4-Piece Set: Increases CRIT Rate by 4.0%. The wearer deals 8.0%/12.0% increased CRIT DMG to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs. After the wearer inflicts a debuff on enemy targets, the aforementioned effects increase by 100%, lasting for 1 turn(s).
This is Moze's best-in-slot relic set to build as long as you have a third debuff from another character. If you are running Worrisome, Blissful then you already have three. Moze has no issues maintaining the amplified bonus because he applies a debuff every turn.
The Ashblazing Grand Duke
99.6%
2-Piece Set: Increases the DMG dealt by Follow-up ATK by 20.0%.
4-Piece Set: When the wearer uses a Follow-up ATK, increases the wearer's ATK by 6.0% for every time the Follow-up ATK deals DMG. This effect can stack up to 8 time(s) and lasts for 3 turn(s). This effect is removed the next time the wearer uses a Follow-up ATK.
This is Moze's Second best relic set to build. Provides a massive 20% Follow-up DMG boost from its 2pc which applies to most of the damage that Moze deals.
The Ashblazing Grand Duke
97%
Scholar Lost in Erudition
2-Piece Set: Increases the DMG dealt by Follow-up ATK by 20.0%.
4-Piece Set: When the wearer uses a Follow-up ATK, increases the wearer's ATK by 6.0% for every time the Follow-up ATK deals DMG. This effect can stack up to 8 time(s) and lasts for 3 turn(s). This effect is removed the next time the wearer uses a Follow-up ATK.
2-Piece Set: Increases CRIT Rate by 8.0%.
4-Piece Set: Increases DMG dealt by Skill and Ultimate by 20.0%. After using Ultimate, additionally increases the DMG dealt by the next Skill by 25.0%.
This is the best performing 2pc-2pc combination, combining the 2pc effect from The Ashblazing Grand Duke with the 2nd best relic Scholar Lost in Erudition. Another alternative is Wavestrider Captain instead of Scholar, but Scholar is recommended to cap CRIT Rate.

Best Planar Ornaments

Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves
100%
2-Piece Set: When an ally uses a Follow-up ATK, the wearer gains 1 stack of Merit, stacking up to 5 time(s). Each stack of Merit increases the DMG dealt by the wearer's Follow-up ATKs by 5.0%. When there are 5 stacks, additionally increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 25.0%.
We recommend building Moze with this Planetary Set. Moze stacks the 25% Follow-up and CRIT DMG quickly even without other allies launching Follow-up ATKs but he is usually played with other units with Follow-up ATKs making this stack even faster.
Firmament Frontline: Glamoth
99%
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0%. When the wearer's SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12.0%/18.0% more DMG.
This is Moze's second best Planetary Set as long as he has at least 135 SPD to meet the first breakpoint.
Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
98.4%
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's Energy Regeneration Rate by 5.0%. If the wearer is not the first character in the team lineup, then increases the ATK of the first character in the team lineup by 12.0%.
This is Moze's third best option and sacrifices personal damage to boost the DPS of your main DPS unit by granting them ATK%.
Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
98.4%
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0%. When entering battle, if at least one teammate follows the same Path as the wearer, then the wearer's CRIT Rate increases by 12.0%.
This is also Moze's joint third best option but it is only usable if you are playing Moze with another hunt character. This Planar Ornament makes it significantly easier to cap CRIT Rate on Moze which can otherwise be a challenge without a CRIT Rate Lightcone.
Inert Salsotto
98.4%
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8.0%. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 50.0% or higher, the DMG dealt by the wearer's Ultimate and Follow-up ATK increases by 15.0%.
This is also Moze's joint third best option and is highly versatile. This provides 8% CRIT Rate and 15% Follow-up ATK DMG. This Planar Ornament also helps cap CRIT Rate. Despite his Ultimate being a Follow-up ATK he only receives a 15% DMG boost as the effect only applies once to matching types.

Moze Build Comments

Moze's gameplay is based around his skill Fleetwinged Raid and his talent Cascading Featherblade. Every time Moze uses his Skill he will enter the Departed state making him untargetable meaning he will not appear on the Action Order. Moze will leave the Departed state when his Prey debuff is removed - either by consuming all 9 stacks or the enemy dying.

Moze's A2 trait Nightfeather gives him one skill point refunded per turn which makes him Skill Point neutral while using his skill letting you reapply the debuff every turn without costing your carry too many Skill Points.

Due to Moze spending most of his time off-field in the Departed state SPD has approximately half effect on him but it does help minimize the downtime of his Prey debuff. We suggest getting enough SPD so that at the start of combat he will go before any damage dealers after his action advance from his A4 Trace Daggerhold. This much SPD is usually enough to make him feel good to play outside of the opener as well.

Moze does not work very well with units that provide a Single Target buff such as Action Advance units like Sunday or buff units like Tingyun. While it is possible to work around these problems with clever SPD tuning this adds extra hassle and is not worth it compared to playing units that either apply debuffs or have auras instead.

Best Synergies for Moze

Feixiao
Feixiao

Feixiao is the premier Follow-up ATK carry and works amazingly with Moze. Feixiao can hold onto her ultimate and always use it when Moze's Prey debuff is up to maximise damage and Moze's incredibly frequent Follow-up ATKs are perfect for building charge for Feixiao's Ultimate.

Cipher
Cipher

Cipher is an incredibly fast Nihility unit that launches a powerful Follow-up ATK every turn. The overall damage increases offered by Cipher are immense and she works perfectly with Moze by consuming his stacks to deal damage and amplifying his damage dealt.

Tribbie
Tribbie

Tribbie is an very powerful and versatile Harmony Support unit. Tribbie has frequent Follow-up ATKs which help consume Moze's stacks of Prey quickly letting him get off his damage in a more condensed fashion. As Tribbie's buffs are all Auras she has absolutely no issue buffing Moze even if he is in the Departed state.

Robin
Robin

Robin is an incredibly powerful and versatile Harmony Support unit that was designed for Follow-up ATK teams and is Moze's Best Support. Robin provides a large DMG % buff, flat ATK and 25% CRIT DMG for Follow-up ATKs. Robin is reliant on teammates hitting to generate energy to keep casting her Ultimate which is perfectly synergistic with Moze who hits very frequently.
Moze will not receive the Action Advance from Robin's Ultimate if she casts it while he is departed but using her Ultimate to Advance him after his Prey Debuff expires is a very large DPS increase as it maximises his Prey uptime and let him get more hits over an entire fight.

Topaz & Numby
Topaz & Numby

Topaz is a strong Sub DPS with the the highest amount of attacks per round in the game making her excellent for Moze. Topaz also has a 50% DMG Follow-up ATK Vulnerability through her skill Difficulty Paying?. Moze can advance Numby very often due to the sheer quantity of Follow-up ATKs he launches every turn.
Topaz’s Proof of Debt debuff lands on a random foe and needs a Skill Point to be shifted with her Skill. Without spare SP, you will end up either hitting the wrong target, missing out on Numby advances, or overkilling the initial target and hoping the debuff jumps to someone better when they die.

Aventurine
Aventurine

Aventurine is a Follow-up ATK-based shielder that synergises with other Follow-up ATK characters and the best Sustain for Moze Teams. Aventurine is completely Skill Point Positive and has no issues keeping a team safe with minimal uses of his Skill. Aventurines A6 Trace Bingo! results in more Follow-up ATKs being launched and thus more Shielding when he is played in a Follow-up ATK team.

Moze's Best Teams

The sustain unit in each team can be swapped out. We suggest playing either Aventurine, Hyacine or Lingsha since those are currently the best sustain units for DPS when played with Moze but others like Gallagher and Fu Xuan are completely fine.

This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level. We have included several example teams that are more F2P friendly using 4★ characters that are lower power than the 5★ teams as examples. The sustain unit in each team can be swapped out.
