Introductions

Welt is a 5-Star Imaginary Character following the Path of Nihility. Welt can be used as a solid DPS unit but thrives mainly as a Sub-DPS and a Support. Welt focuses on dealing high amounts of Imaginary damage through the use of his Skill and Ultimate while also inflicting enemies with various debuffs to reduce their speed and actions.
Our Welt Build Guide will show you the best Light Cones, Relics, and team compositions to help you build the best Welt.

Welt's Best Light Cone

Listed below are the Light Cones we recommend for Welt.

Those Many Springs
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 60.0 / 70.0 / 80.0 / 90.0 / 100%. After the wearer uses Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate to attack an enemy target, there is a 60.0% base chance to inflict "Unarmored" on the target. While in the Unarmored state, the enemy target receives 10.0 / 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0% increased DMG, lasting for 2 turn(s). If the target is under a DoT state inflicted by the wearer, there is a 60.0% base chance to upgrade the "Unarmored" state inflicted by the wearer to the "Cornered" state, which additionally increases the DMG the enemy target receives by 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0 / 22.0%, lasting for 2 turn(s). During this period, the wearer cannot inflict "Unarmored" on the target.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
Those Many Springs is a 5-star light cone that Boosts Effect Hit Rate. Attacks can apply "Unarmored", making enemies take more damage. If the enemies already have DoT applied, it can upgrade to "Cornered" for even higher damage. This is great for Welt as his kit applies debuffs and having the extra EHR stats is great for him.
Along the Passing Shore
Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 36.0 / 42.0 / 48.0 / 54.0 / 60.0%. When the wearer hits an enemy target, inflicts Mirage Fizzle on the enemy, lasting for 1 turn. Each time the wearer attacks, this effect can only trigger 1 time on each target. The wearer deals 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0 / 36.0 / 40.0% increased DMG to targets afflicted with Mirage Fizzle, and the DMG dealt by Ultimate additionally increases by 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0 / 36.0 / 40.0%.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
As a Main DPS this 5-star light cone is Welt's best option increasing his CRIT DMG and inflicts the debuff "Mirage Fizzle" which allows him to deal further additional damage as well as increasing the damage dealt by his Ultimate when inflicted.
Lies Dance on the Breeze
Increases the wearer's SPD by 18.0 / 21.0 / 24.0 / 27.0 / 30.0%. After the wearer uses an attack, there is a 120.0% base chance to inflict the "Bamboozle" state on every enemy target. While under the "Bamboozle" state, enemy targets have their DEF decreased by 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0 / 22.0 / 24.0% for 2 turn(s). If the wearer's SPD is higher than or equal to 170, there is a 120.0% base chance to inflict the "Theft" state on every enemy target. While under the "Theft" state, enemy targets have their DEF decreased by 8.0 / 9.0 / 10.0 / 11.0 / 12.0% for 2 turn(s). When "Bamboozle" or "Theft" is repeatedly inflicted, only the most recently inflicted instance takes effect.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
This light cone provides Welt with additional speed as well as reduce enemy defence which synergises well with his overall kit and his "Weightless State". Those under the Weightless State will receive a significant amount of reduced defence up to 64% (40% = Weightless State + 16% = Bamboozle State + 8% = Theft State).
Before the Tutorial Mission Starts
S5
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 20.0 / 25.0 / 30.0 / 35.0 / 40.0%. When the wearer attacks DEF-reduced enemies, regenerates 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 Energy.

Sources: Mission Reward
Although this is a 4-star light cone it is a great weapon for Welt whether he is acting as a Main DPS Sub-DPS or a support unit within a team. This light cone allows Welt to regenerate more energy while in the "Weightless State" due to enemies having their DEF reduced. Overall, this light cone allows Welt to achieve the EHR required in order to land his debuffs, increase the Weightless State uptime as well as gain increased energy for higher Ultimate uptime.
Holiday Thermae Escapade
S5
Increases the wearer's DMG dealt by 16.0 / 20.0 / 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0%. After the wearer attacks, there is a 100% base chance to inflict the attacked target with Vulnerability, increasing the DMG they receive by 10.0 / 11.5 / 13.0 / 14.5 / 16.0% for 2 turn(s). Effects of the same type cannot stack.

Sources: Nameless Glory
A great 4-star light cone that provides Welt with increased damage output as well as inflict vulnerability to an enemy. Inflicting vulnerability not only increases the damage Welt does to the enemy but also to his allies allowing better overall team wide damage.
Incessant Rain
Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 24.0 / 28.0 / 32.0 / 36.0 / 40.0%. When the wearer deals DMG to an enemy that currently has 3 or more debuffs, increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0%. After the wearer uses their Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, there is a 100% base chance to implant Aether Code on a random hit target that does not yet have it. Targets with Aether Code receive 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0 / 18.0 / 20.0% increased DMG for 1 turn.

Sources: Event Warp (limited)
A solid 5-star light cone for both Sub-DPS and Support for Welt, providing him with enhanced EHR while also increasing his CRIT Rate when 3 or more debuffs have been applied. As Welt's kit focuses a lot on debuffing this light cone helps to hit the EHR requirement while also providing the additional CRIT Rate and extra damage for himself and the team.
Good Night and Sleep Well
S5
For every debuff the target enemy has, the DMG dealt by the wearer increases by 12.0 / 15.0 / 18.0 / 21.0 / 24.0%, stacking up to 3 time(s). This effect also applies to DoT.

Sources: Stellar Warp
A solid 4-star light cone for Welt's DPS role focusing more on the damage side. For each debuff the targeted enemy has an increased amount of damage is dealt. This works better at S5 dealing more overall damage.
Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat
S5
When the wearer hits an enemy and if the hit enemy is not already "Ensnared," then there is a 60.0 / 70.0 / 80.0 / 90.0 / 100% base chance to "Ensnare" the hit enemy. "Ensnared" enemies' DEF decreases by 12.0 / 13.0 / 14.0 / 15.0 / 16.0% for 1 turn(s).

Sources: Stellar Warp
If your looking for a more easily obtainable light cone for Welt, Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat focuses on defence reduction. Reducing enemy defence by inflicting "Ensnared" reduces enemy defence up to 16% at S5 with a 100% base chance.
Boundless Choreo
S5
Increase the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8.0 / 10.0 / 12.0 / 14.0 / 16.0%. The wearer deals 24.0 / 30.0 / 36.0 / 42.0 / 48.0% more CRIT DMG to enemies that are currently Slowed or have reduced DEF.

Best Relics and Planar Ornaments for Welt

Best Relics for Welt

These are the best Relic sets for Welt. Depending if you are going for a more DPS focused kit or a Support/ Sub-DPS focused kit, it will depend on the relic set you choose.

Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
2-Piece Set: Increases DMG dealt to enemies with debuffs by 12.0%.
4-Piece Set: Increases CRIT Rate by 4.0%. The wearer deals 8.0%/12.0% increased CRIT DMG to enemies with at least 2/3 debuffs. After the wearer inflicts a debuff on enemy targets, the aforementioned effects increase by 100%, lasting for 1 turn(s).
This 4-piece set is designed to enhance Welt's Main DPS playstyle and is considered his best relic set. Since enemies are consistently affected by debuffs from Welt, the set maintains uptime on its effects. The 2-piece bonus is always active due to his constant debuff application, while the 4-piece bonus further boosts his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. This set therefore provides Welt with a good amount of CRIT as well as improve his overall damage output.
Eagle of Twilight Line
2-Piece Set: Increases Wind DMG by 10.0%.
4-Piece Set: After the wearer uses their Ultimate, their action is Advanced Forward by 25.0%.
When it comes to the Sub-DPS and Support playstyle for Welt you want to choose the Eagle of Twilight Line Relic Set. This set advances Welt's actions after he uses his Ultimate. It is important for Welt to be using his Ultimate frequently as this ensures that the debuff "Weightless State" has a higher uptime keeping enemy defence continually reduced as well as keep their actions delayed.
Wastelander of Banditry Desert
2-Piece Set: Increases Imaginary DMG by 10.0%.
4-Piece Set: When dealing DMG to debuffed enemy targets, the wearer has their CRIT Rate increased by 10.0%. And when they deal DMG to Imprisoned enemy targets, their CRIT DMG increases by 20.0%.
Another good DPS option for Welt is the 4-piece set Wastelander of Banditry Desert which increases his total Imaginary damage as well as increases his CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. This 4-piece set provides Welt with indefinite increased CRIT Rate due to his debuff uuptime. Enemy's can receive the "Imprisoned" state either through his Ultimate or by breaking enemy weakness which then provides the additional CRIT DMG stat.

Best Planar Ornaments

Firmament Frontline: Glamoth
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0%. When the wearer's SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12.0%/18.0% more DMG.
Firmament Frontline Glamoth provides Welt with increased ATK and increased damage dependant on his overall speed. As a Main DPS full effects may not be met as you aren't necessarily focusing on speed but as a Sub-DPS you may be more likely to achieve the full effects as you aren't focusing solely on providing a substantial amount of overall raw damage.
The Wondrous BananAmusement Park
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's CRIT DMG by 16.0%. When a target summoned by the wearer is on the field, CRIT DMG additionally increases by 32.0%.
This set works particularly well when DPS Welt is paired with Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae. It grants increased CRIT DMG, with a further bonus when a summoned target is present on the field. Although Welt cannot activate this condition on his own, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae enables it by summoning "Souldragon" for him, allowing him to fully benefit from the additional CRIT DMG.
Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 10.0%. Meanwhile, the wearer's ATK increases by an amount that is equal to 25.0% of the current Effect Hit Rate, up to a maximum increase of 25.0%.
Another DPS focused set for Welt providing increased effect hit rate. This set is mainly used if you are struggling to achieve the needed EHR stats for Welt otherwise it's best to go for a set that provides more CRIT or ATK focused stats such as those previously mentioned.
Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm
2-Piece Set: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12.0%. When entering battle, if at least one teammate follows the same Path as the wearer, then the wearer's CRIT Rate increases by 12.0%.
Pairing Welt with another Nihility character allows you to take advantage of the Izumo Set which increases Welt's attack as well as increases his CRIT Rate. Meeting the requirements for the increased CRIT Rate will benefit him very well.

Character Synergy and Team Building Novaflare Update

Character Synergy and Team Building

Welt is a support character who specialises in manipulating enemies through debuffs. His abilities revolve around dealing imaginary damage while reducing enemy speed and delaying their turns, which helps the team maintain control of the fight. Rather than acting as a main damage dealer, his role is to disrupt enemy actions and create openings for teammates, making fights smoother and more manageable.

Welt's recent buffs significantly improve his effectiveness as a debuffer, making him a flexible option across a wide range of team compositions. His ability to delay enemy actions (through the weightless state) and reduce their Speed provides strong utility, particularly in sustainless teams where turn control is essential. In double DPS setups, pairing him with Ashveil is highly effective, as both characters apply defence reduction and benefit from strong debuff synergy.

When running Welt as a main DPS, it is recommended to include an ally who can advance his actions, such as Sunday, alongside a support and typically a sustain. This is because Welt benefits greatly from Action Advance as it lets him take more turns, which helps him consistently apply slows and delay enemy actions. This increases his control over battles, improves his damage (since he deals more to slowed enemies) and allows him to use his Ultimate more often.

Novaflare Update

Welt's Novaflare update has significantly boosted his overall performance and is considered one of his biggest upgrades compared to his original kit as well as one of the biggest character upgrades for the Novaflare update iteself. He can now function as both a Main DPS and a Support/Sustain, something that wasn't viable before.

However, despite these strong buffs, his role is somewhat limited by team availability. There are currently very few teams that consistently run Nihility debuffers outside of Acheron. As a result, while Welt has improved significantly, he doesn't fit smoothly into many of the newer team compositions introduced since his release.

See below the main changes to Welt since the Novaflare update:

  • Welt's skill now deals additional damage for 4 turns now instead of 2, while his energy regeneration has been adjusted from 10 to 6.
  • When using his Ultimate, enemies now have their actions delayed by 12%, instead of the previous 40%. However, he now also inflicts the Weightless State on all enemies for 2 turns. While affected by this state, enemies have their actions delayed by 4% each time they are attacked, up to 8 triggers per target per turn. This can result in an additional 32% action delay per turn. Combined with the initial 12% delay, this brings the total potential delay to 44%.
  • Welt's enhanced Talent, Time Distortion, has been significantly improved in the Novaflare update. Enemies in the Weightless State now have their DEF reduced by 40% and SPD reduced by 5%. In addition, when Welt attacks enemies that are already slowed, he now deals additional Imaginary DMG equal to 100% of his ATK.
  • The Novaflare update has had some significant changes to Welt's Traces. One of the main changes to this is that is focuses mainly on the switch from an ATK boost to an EHR boost.
  • Welt's trace Punishment now increases his attack by 20% up to a total of 80% when his EHR is above 40% for each 10% over. In addition to this he also now restore 5 energy each time his ultimate is used which is a massive upgrade.
  • Another trace receiving a big upgrade is Judgment, rather than just regenerating 10 energy it now deals 1 instance of additional DMG when Welt uses either his basic ATK or his skill. When using a basic ATK the additional DMG dealt is 80% of his Basic ATK multiplier whereas his skill is equal to 120% of his skill DMG multiplier.
  • The last trace to receive some changes is Retribution, this trace no longer increases Welt's DMG dealt through his ultimate but rather focuses on increasing ally target DMG for those who attack enemies under the weightless state. This can stack up to a grand total of 10 times and at the start of a battle welt receives 30 energy which is a significant amount.
  • The last changes to Welt for the Novaflare update are his E1, E4 and E6 Eidolons. Welt's E1 Legacy of Honor now deals an instance of Imaginary DMG at 40% of his ultimate DMG Multiplier when using his skill or ultimate. Welt's E4 Appellation of Justice has had a significant change from previously reducing enemy speed to now reducing enemy All-Type RES PEN by 30% when in the Weightless State. Lastly, the biggest change has been made to his E6 Prospect of Glory which is his strongest and best Eidolon to work towards. Before the Novaflare update Welt's E6 would deal additional DMG 1 time after using his skill. Welt now slows an enemy when using his Skill or Ultimate and increases CRIT Rate by 30% as well as his CRIT DMG by a whopping 60%. This is a huge upgrade compared to before his Novaflare making him significantly stronger.

Welt's Best Eidolons

When it comes to selecting which Eidolons are the most important to focus on for Welt his E1, E4 and E6 would be the best to put your time and effort into. Take a look below at a brief overview and breakdown of each of these eidolons:

  • E1 adds an extra instance of Imaginary damage when attacking enemies affected by "Weightless" state. It scales with his Ultimate, making it a decent early upgrade that improves his personal damage, even if it's not a major power spike.
  • E2 improves Welt's energy regeneration, allowing for more frequent use of his Ultimate. This greatly enhances both his damage output and his ability to control enemies.
  • E4 lowers All-Type RES for enemies in the "Weightless" state. This is a powerful boost because it enhances the entire team's damage output not just Welt's, making it one of his most impactful eidolons.
  • E6 increases Crit Rate and Crit Damage against slowed enemies. While this significantly improves Welt's damage potential, it depends on enemies being affected by Slow, so it's more situational compared to other upgrades.

Overall, we can see the valuable eidolons as E2 and E6 which improves energy regeneration and Ultimate uptime as well as E4 for its strong team wide damage increase. E6 is powerful but more of an end game choice rather than a necessity early on.
