Introductions
Welt is a 5-Star Imaginary Character following the Path of
Nihility. Welt can be used as a solid DPS unit but thrives mainly as a
Sub-DPS and a Support. Welt focuses on dealing high amounts of Imaginary damage
through the use of his Skill and Ultimate while also inflicting enemies with various
debuffs to reduce their speed and actions.
Our Welt Build Guide will show you the best Light Cones, Relics, and

Character Synergy and Team Building
Welt is a support character who specialises in manipulating enemies through debuffs. His abilities revolve around dealing imaginary damage while reducing enemy speed and delaying their turns, which helps the team maintain control of the fight. Rather than acting as a main damage dealer, his role is to disrupt enemy actions and create openings for teammates, making fights smoother and more manageable.
Welt's recent buffs significantly improve his effectiveness as a debuffer, making him a flexible option across a wide range of team compositions. His ability to delay enemy actions (through the weightless state) and reduce their Speed provides strong utility, particularly in sustainless teams where turn control is essential. In double DPS setups, pairing him with Ashveil is highly effective, as both characters apply defence reduction and benefit from strong debuff synergy.
When running Welt as a main DPS, it is recommended to include an ally who can advance his actions, such as Sunday, alongside a support and typically a sustain. This is because Welt benefits greatly from Action Advance as it lets him take more turns, which helps him consistently apply slows and delay enemy actions. This increases his control over battles, improves his damage (since he deals more to slowed enemies) and allows him to use his Ultimate more often.
Novaflare Update
Welt's Novaflare update has significantly boosted his overall performance and is considered one of his biggest upgrades compared to his original kit as well as one of the biggest character upgrades for the Novaflare update iteself. He can now function as both a Main DPS and a Support/Sustain, something that wasn't viable before.
However, despite these strong buffs, his role is somewhat limited by team availability. There are currently very few teams that consistently run Nihility debuffers outside of Acheron. As a result, while Welt has improved significantly, he doesn't fit smoothly into many of the newer team compositions introduced since his release.
See below the main changes to Welt since the Novaflare update:
- Welt's skill now deals additional damage for 4 turns now instead of 2, while his energy regeneration has been adjusted from 10 to 6.
- When using his Ultimate, enemies now have their actions delayed by 12%, instead of the previous 40%. However, he now also inflicts the Weightless State on all enemies for 2 turns. While affected by this state, enemies have their actions delayed by 4% each time they are attacked, up to 8 triggers per target per turn. This can result in an additional 32% action delay per turn. Combined with the initial 12% delay, this brings the total potential delay to 44%.
- Welt's enhanced Talent, Time Distortion, has been significantly improved in the Novaflare update. Enemies in the Weightless State now have their DEF reduced by 40% and SPD reduced by 5%. In addition, when Welt attacks enemies that are already slowed, he now deals additional Imaginary DMG equal to 100% of his ATK.
- The Novaflare update has had some significant changes to Welt's Traces. One of the main changes to this is that is focuses mainly on the switch from an ATK boost to an EHR boost.
- Welt's trace Punishment now increases his attack by 20% up to a total of 80% when his EHR is above 40% for each 10% over. In addition to this he also now restore 5 energy each time his ultimate is used which is a massive upgrade.
- Another trace receiving a big upgrade is Judgment, rather than just regenerating 10 energy it now deals 1 instance of additional DMG when Welt uses either his basic ATK or his skill. When using a basic ATK the additional DMG dealt is 80% of his Basic ATK multiplier whereas his skill is equal to 120% of his skill DMG multiplier.
- The last trace to receive some changes is Retribution, this trace no longer increases Welt's DMG dealt through his ultimate but rather focuses on increasing ally target DMG for those who attack enemies under the weightless state. This can stack up to a grand total of 10 times and at the start of a battle welt receives 30 energy which is a significant amount.
- The last changes to Welt for the Novaflare update are his E1, E4 and E6 Eidolons. Welt's E1 Legacy of Honor now deals an instance of Imaginary DMG at 40% of his ultimate DMG Multiplier when using his skill or ultimate. Welt's E4 Appellation of Justice has had a significant change from previously reducing enemy speed to now reducing enemy All-Type RES PEN by 30% when in the Weightless State. Lastly, the biggest change has been made to his E6 Prospect of Glory which is his strongest and best Eidolon to work towards. Before the Novaflare update Welt's E6 would deal additional DMG 1 time after using his skill. Welt now slows an enemy when using his Skill or Ultimate and increases CRIT Rate by 30% as well as his CRIT DMG by a whopping 60%. This is a huge upgrade compared to before his Novaflare making him significantly stronger.

Welt's Best Eidolons
When it comes to selecting which Eidolons are the most important to focus on for Welt his E1, E4 and E6 would be the best to put your time and effort into. Take a look below at a brief overview and breakdown of each of these eidolons:
- E1 adds an extra instance of Imaginary damage when attacking enemies affected by "Weightless" state. It scales with his Ultimate, making it a decent early upgrade that improves his personal damage, even if it's not a major power spike.
- E2 improves Welt's energy regeneration, allowing for more frequent use of his Ultimate. This greatly enhances both his damage output and his ability to control enemies.
- E4 lowers All-Type RES for enemies in the "Weightless" state. This is a powerful boost because it enhances the entire team's damage output not just Welt's, making it one of his most impactful eidolons.
- E6 increases Crit Rate and Crit Damage against slowed enemies. While this significantly improves Welt's damage potential, it depends on enemies being affected by Slow, so it's more situational compared to other upgrades.
Overall, we can see the valuable eidolons as E2 and E6 which improves energy regeneration and Ultimate uptime as well as E4 for its strong team wide damage increase. E6 is powerful but more of an end game choice rather than a necessity early on.
