Mists of Pandaria Classic Feral Druid Spell Summary
On this page, we present you with all spells and procs that you need to understand as a Feral Druid in Mists of Pandaria Classic.
Feral Druid Spells, Cooldowns and Abilities
While not all abilities in your spellbook have the same degree of importance, they all have their uses, which we will try to quickly explain in the following sections.
Mists of Pandaria Classic Feral Resources
While in
Cat Form, you will have two resources to deal with: Combo
Points and Energy. Energy automatically regenerates over time and is used for
abilities such as
Mangle, which generates Combo Points.
Combo Points can be accumulated up to 5 and are spent on finisher abilities
that use all Combo Points at once for an especially powerful effect (such as
Rip).
Energy Abilities
These abilities use Energy and generate Combo Points:
Mangle is your basic combo point builder, which also reduces the
movement speed of its target by 50% through the
Infected Wounds passive.
Shred is similar to
Mangle but does 20% more damage to
bleeding targets while only costing 5 Energy more, making it much more efficient.
Its main downside is that it can only be used from behind the target.
Rake is similar to
Mangle, but deals less upfront damage while
bleeding your target to deal some extra damage over time, also enabling the bonus
damage on
Shred.
Swipe swipes in front of you, dealing damage to all nearby enemies,
increased by 20% if they are bleeding.
Thrash causes a bleed dot on all enemies around you for 15 seconds
and reduces their physical damage by 10% for 30 seconds.
Ravage can only be used while stealthed and behind the target
and deals a lot of damage to the target, as well as generating a Combo Point.
This is the favored way to open on a target, especially as it has 50% added chance
to Critical Strike if the target is above 80% health.
Pounce is also only usable from stealth but stuns the target and deals
bleed damage over time instead of doing direct damage. This is an alternative way
to open on most targets due to the lack of positional requirements.
Combo Point Abilities
These abilities use Combo Points for a powerful attack:
Rip is a powerful bleed that consumes Combo Points and Energy to put
a damage-over-time effect on your target, which can be extended by up to 6 seconds
with
Shred,
Ravage, or
Mangle. Against targets that will
live through its full duration, this is one of your main damage dealers.
Ferocious Bite deals damage instantly, consuming between 25 and 50 Energy
depending on how much you have when used. While it does a lot less damage than Rip
on most situations, it has a 35% higher critical strike chance against bleeding
targets and refreshes Rip on targets under 25% health.
Maim works similarly to Ferocious Bite but stuns the target instead
of being focused on damage dealing.
Savage Roar is a maintenance buff which increases your physical damage
by 40% for a duration based on how many Combo Points were spent. You should
keep it up as much as possible while performing the rest of your rotation.
Utility Feral Cat Abilities
These are other utility abilities that you will also mostly use while in
Cat Form.
Berserk reduces the cost of Cat abilities by 50% for 15 seconds, and
is your main DPS cooldown.
Tiger's Fury provides burst Energy regeneration, and also increases your
damage for 6 seconds.
Faerie Fire lowers the Armor of the target and makes them unable
to stealth or go invisible while active. It also deals minor damage and has a 25%
chance to reset the cooldown on
Mangle when used in Bear Form.
Prowl allows you to go into stealth. This drastically lowers the range
at which enemies can see and attack you, and gives you access to some abilities
that can only be used while in stealth. You can only go into stealth while not in
combat, and being attacked or using any ability while stealthed will bring you
out of it.
Skull Bash charges and interrupts your target for 4 seconds and increases
its spell casting costs by 25% for 10 seconds.
Nature's Swiftness makes your next cast instant, able to be casted
without breaking Cat Form and gives it 50% more healing or duration.
Survival Instincts is your main defensive cooldown, reducing your damage
taken by 50% for 12 seconds.
Dash increases your movement speed by 70% for 15 seconds and breaks
roots and snares on yourself on a 3-minute cooldown. A useful mobility cooldown.
Feline Grace is a passive that makes you take less fall damage.
Bear Form Abilities
While in
Bear Form you will use Rage instead of Mana or Energy. When
you deal auto-attack damage or take damage you will generate Rage, which can then
be spent on attacks.
Might of Ursoc increases current and maximum health by 30% for 20 seconds,
and also automatically activates Bear Form.
Frenzied Regeneration is a cooldown that instantly converts Rage into
health.
Bear Form turns you into a bear, drastically increasing your Armor and
health. This is the form you will want to assume when under heavy pressure.
Growl taunts the target to attack you. This is a critical tanking
ability, which can save the lives of your teammates.
Mangle is a basic attack that generates Rage and has a small cooldown.
Lacerate causes bleed damage over time on the target and stacks up
to 3 applications, while having a 25% chance to reset the cooldown of
Mangle
on hit.
Maul is an attack that converts Rage into damage. As Rage is your main
source of defensive capabilities, make sure to only use it when you have excess
Rage.
Swipe swipes in front of you, dealing damage to all targets.
Deals 20% more damage to bleeding targets.
