On this page, you will find out the optimal PvE stat priority for your Guardian Druid in Mists of Pandaria Classic. We first present the stat priority, before delving into more complex explanations.

1.

Stat Priority for Guardian Druid

The stat priority for Guardian Druid is as follows:

  1. Stamina
  2. Hit Rating to cap (7.5%)
  3. Expertise Rating to cap (15%)
  4. Critical Strike
  5. Agility
  6. Haste
  7. Mastery
  8. Dodge
1.1.

Stamina

Stamina is the main stat for Tanks, as it grants extra health which will allow for more time for healers to heal you or yourself to react with defensives. Because of how items are configured in Mists of Pandaria, you will never have to specifically pick Stamina on gear as it increases proportionally to item level.

Stamina also increases damage through Vengeance Icon Vengeance which causes you to gain 1.8% of the unmitigated damage taken while in Bear Form Icon Bear Form as attack power for 20 sec, up to a total of 10% of your total health.

1.2.

Hit and Expertise

Hit and Expertise are critical to ensure you land your attacks and special abilities, as missing attacks wastes both resources and precious time, lowering your Rage generation which could make you die because you lack resources to press your active defenses.

Hitting 7.5% Hit ensures your attacks cannot miss, 7.5% Expertise ensures your attacks cannot be dodged, and 15% Expertise removes parries, allowing your attacks to always hit their (raid boss) target.

1.3.

Critical Strike

Due to Bear Form Icon Bear Form granting 50% higher Crit scaling and Primal Fury Icon Primal Fury generating 15 Rage on crits, Critical Strike is one of the best secondaries available, and will be gemmed once Hit / Expertise caps are done.

1.4.

Agility

Agility is your primary damage stat, and also grants extra Dodge. Because of how items are configured in Mists of Pandaria, you will never have to chase Agility as it increases proportionally to item level.

While it is a powerful stat on an individual basis, you will generally always be getting twice the amount of secondary stats for each point of Agility, making it a weak stat to stack.

1.5.

Haste Rating

Haste rating increases your attack rate, creating more Rage generation opportunities, damage, and Tooth and Claw Icon Tooth and Claw procs. This allows it to be a decent stat but the rate at which it increases Rage generation is not particularly strong.

1.6.

Mastery

Guardian Mastery is Mastery: Nature's Guardian Icon Mastery: Nature's Guardian, which increases your armor. This is a decent stat for stabilizing incoming physical damage, but does nothing against magic and is thus generally weaker than other stats for defensive purposes while doing nothing offensively.

1.7.

Dodge

Dodge provides a chance to entirely avoid an incoming enemy attack, and is similar in nature to Mastery as a purely defensive talent, making it also not that strong to stack, overall.
