Mists of Pandaria Classic Guardian Druid Guide

Guardian is the new tanking specialization for Druids, which previously had Feral allowing for both melee DPS and tanking roles in a single spec. This makes it a much more focused tanking specialization, but also removes the hybrid nature that made Feral Tanks great at off-tanking.

Regardless, most gear is still shared between the specializations, making them pair well together.

Guardian is expected to be an easy to play specialization that scales well through the expansion. While it is not particularly strong early on, all tanks are fairly viable in Mists

Druid is also a strong leveling class and world / stealth farmer, for players who enjoy the soloing lifestyle.

Strengths

• Good utility with Stampeding Roar, Rebirth, and Innervate;
• Simple rotation and straightforward defensive tools make it easy to pick up;
• Excellent scaling will lead Guardian to be one of the best tanks when fully geared.

Weaknesses

• No longer strong at dealing high damage while off-tanking due to the separation of Feral and Guardian;
• Relatively low damage and requires a lot of gear for good scaling to kick in.

On the Horde side, Taurens are the best for survivability purposes due to Endurance, but Troll are the best for damage purposes, as they have Berserking and Beast Slaying.

Alliance Druids should roll Worgen as they are vastly superior to Night Elf due to Darkflight and Viciousness.

1. Engineering — Engineering is the best PvE profession in the game due to the extra burst DPS afforded by Synapse Springs, and mobility increase of Nitro Boosts.
2. Blacksmithing — Enables two extra sockets from Socket Gloves and Socket Bracer, allowing you to stack more secondary stats which are more favorable to Guardian than the standard Agility boost of most other professions.
