Hotori Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Hotori build guide for Neverness to Everness. Hotori is an S-Rank Solid Character available in Neverness to Everness who utilises the Cosmos element.

In our Hotori guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Hotori, from building the best gear and weapons, to important skill priorities and combos.

Hotori's Best Arcs

Marching Beyond Time M1
ATK - 570
CRIT Rate - 24%

Time Beyond Time

Increases ATK by 16%.
Enters Wastelab and clears current Wastetime when the wearer casts a Redirect Skill. While in Wastelab, allies gain 1stack of Wastetime each time they use a Redirect or Support Skill, up to 3 stacks. When the wearer uses their Ultimate in Wastelab, they exit Wastelab and consume all Wastetime, increasing Ultimate Crit DMG by 24%, plus an additional 8% per Wastetime consumed. Consuming 3 Wastetime stacks at once grants an extra 12% DEF Ignore for 3s.
Marching Beyond Time is Hotori's best Arc. Hotori's damage is primarily focused on the damage of her Ultimate, and this Arc focuses entirely on boosting Ultimate damage. The only requirement is to ensure to cast 3 redirect or support skills to ensure you get the def ignore buff with her Ultimate as well.
Fluff of Fearlessness M1
ATK - 512
CRIT Rate - 22%

Popping Candy

Increases ATK by 25% for 10s after the wearer casts an Ultimate. Effect does not stack.
Fluff of Fearlessness is another viable S-rank option for Hotori. This Arc provides a significant amount of ATK after using her Ultimate, and a notable amount of CRIT Rate as well. This will significantly improve the strength of Hotori's Ultimate, and the short period right after.
The Forgotten M5
ATK - 475
HP - 25%

Picture Frame

Increases ATK by 20% when the wearer’s HP is above 50%; increases DEF by 20% when HP is below 50%.
The Forgotten is the only viable A rank option for Hotori, and fortunately, it's decently strong. Despite not having the extra bonuses that Marching Beyond Time offers, it provides 3.03% more ATK, provided you can stay above 50% HP with Hotori.

Best Console Setups for Hotori

Hotori's Console bonus is a 10% Cosmos DMG bonus for every Type III Module

2-piece: Epic (2): Cosmos DMG +10%.
4-piece: Legendary (4): Ignores 25% of enemies' DEF for 20s after the wearer casts Ultimate. Effect does not stack.
Lost Radiance is the best option for Hotori. The 2-piece bonus increases her Cosmos DMG by an additional 10%, and also allows her to ignore 25% of enemies' DEF for 20 seconds after using her Ultimate, which stacks with her best Arc. As Hotori primarily does her damage through her Ultimate, this synergises well with her damage profile. Additionally, if Hotori has been awakened to A6, this means she will be ignoring an additional 25% of DEF on top of the 30% that is already ignored via her A6 Awakening - although this is certainly more of a concern for high-spenders. Shown below is an example build setup for her maximum bonus.

4-piece: Legendary (4): Ignores 25% of enemies' DEF for 20s after the wearer casts Ultimate. Effect does not stack.

Hotori's Stat Priority

Cartridge Mainstat Priority: ATK% > Cosmos Damage > CRIT Damage > HP%
Substat Priority: ATK% > Universal Damage > CRIT Damage > ATK+ > HP+

Hotori is an Esper who is capable of significantly reducing enemy defence through her A6 Awakening Time Takes Away (if your wallet allows for it), as well as from the Arc Marching Beyond Time. She scales very well with ATK in general, giving her consistent damage with her Ult.

Hotori's Skill Priority

Ultimate = Support Skill > Basic Attack > Skill

Hotori is more of a secondary damage dealer, and much of her damage comes from her support skill. Additionally, when the Awakening Time Takes Away is active and equipped with the Arc Marching Beyond Time, she ignores a significant portion of enemy DEF.

Hotori's Awakening Priority

If you have one or multiple copies of a character, you will be able to select Awakenings of your choosing. The following is a recommendation for Hotori's Awakening unlock order. Remember that you can switch them at any time to try out different ones, or tailor your choices for a specific fight or situation. For Hotori, her A1, A2, and A5 are all quite significant, and are likely able to be swapped around depending on your situation. Her A6 is a very clear outlier that is separated from the rest.

Awakening Unlock Order Explanation
Time Takes Away
(A6)
The first recommended Awakening for Hotori is her A6, as it allows her to ignore 30% of the target's DEF during time stop. When her stats are optimised for ATK, this is a significant bonus.
Distant Memories
(A2)
Her second recommended Awakening is her A2. This causes her to do 20% more damage during time stop, which synergises very well with her A6, Time Takes Away.
Flourish
(A1)
Her third recommended Awakening is her A1. Every recorded Support or Redirect Skill during time stop further enhances her damage by 12%. This has the potential to outperform her A2 depending on whether either of them stack additively or multiplicatively with other sources of DMG %. A separate 20% multiplier from a different "bucket" typically ends up stronger than a 24% or even 36% multiplier that suffers from diminishing returns.
All-Seeing
(A5)
Her fourth recommended Awakening is her A5. This is essentially a 15% DMG multiplier for the entire team when facing bosses while Hotori is deployed.
Momentary Gaze
(A3)
Her fifth recommended Awakening is her A3. While quote powerful, the 60-second cooldown makes this a lower priority option.
Scattered Relics
(A4)
Hotori's last recommended Awakening is her A4. In situations with a decent amount of enemies, this will allow Hotori to activate her Ultimate more often.
