Psyche Esper Reaction and Cycles

Esper Cycles are special effects caused by building Esper Meter on your characters during combat, and then switching to them to trigger Esper attacks. Chaining multiple of these will cause reactions between the elements, called an Esper Cycle.

Psyche has three reactions:

  • Psyche and Chaos - Causes the Nova effect, which will deal burst damage after a short period of time elapses.
  • Psyche and Lakshana - Causes the Stain effect, making the enemy vulnerable to Psyche and Lakshana damage.
  • Incantation + Chaos + Psyche - Discord: If the enemy is affected by both Scorch (Incantation+Chaos) and Nova (Chaos+Psyche) at the same time, they will take a massive amount of Stagger damage.

Nova, Stain, and Discord

Certain characters can further boost the benefits of the effects caused by the Esper Cycle. For Psyche, these effects are Nova, Stain, and Discord. Having the following characters in your team lets you buff those effects via their Support passives:

  • Nova (Chaos+Psyche):
    • Fadia: Drains a percentage of Fadia's base max HP to further increase the Nova damage.
    • Haniel: Drains a percentage of Haniel's base ATK to further increase the Nova damage.
  • Stain (Psyche+Lakshana):
    • No Enhancement for Stain currently exists.
  • Discord (Incantation+Chaos+Psyche)
    • Daffodill: Further reduces the target's break cap by 10% for 30s, and can stack multiple times.
    • Lacrimosa: Deals 400% of her ATK as bonus damage when triggering Discord against a target that is already broken.
