General Information

Welcome to our Perks page for Life Staff. Here, we give you an overview of how strong each perk is in each setting. Then, we present Jewelry perks and explain how strong and why each of them is.

1.

Perk Tierlists

All the perks below are usable in any Life Staff build. While there are many other perks in the game, these are the perks that are within the scope of a healing build. For example, damage perks on a Life Staff increase damage, but that is not the goal so they are not included.

2.

Life Staff Perks

The perks within this section include general weapon perks and Life Staff specific perks that are in the current META.

2.1.

S-Tier

  • Refreshing Divine Embrace Refreshing Divine Embrace — Put on a weapon if using a targeted group build for the most optimal usage. If this is not possible, it still has high value on an armor piece.
  • Mending Protection Mending Protection — Put on a weapon in an AoE build. This can also be used for a targeted group healing build and still provide a decent amount of healing output.
  • Blessed Blessed — This perk is necessary for any Life Staff. It is a free healing increase and one of the only weapon perks that improves healing. Do not use any staff unless it has this perk.
2.2.

A-Tier

  • Revitalizing Beacon Keen Beacon — Provides a small boost to offensive output for allies. This is a great option in PvE.
  • Purity Of Light Purity Of Light — Absolutely necessary if you run a build with this ability in order to increase healing.
  • Accelerating Light's Embrace Accelerating Light's Embrace — Decent for mobility and increasing chances of survivability.
  • Refreshing Move Refreshing Move — This should be your third perk on any Life Staff. Blessed and an ability perk are the most important, and this is your goal for a complete best in slot.
2.3.

B-Tier

  • Fortifying Sacred Ground Fortifying Sacred Ground — Provides a Fortify buff, but this defensive gain is marginal.
  • Refreshing Refreshing (Weapon) — Can be placed as a third perk option on select named drops for a little bit of utility.
2.4.

C-Tier

  • Refreshing Evasion Refreshing Evasion (Weapon) — Can be placed as a third perk option on select named drops for a little bit of utility.
3.

PvP Perks

The perks within this section include general armor perks for Life Staff builds that are viable in the current PvP META.

3.1.

S-Tier

  • Freedom Freedom — Fantastic survivability option when stacked 5 times on armor pieces. Allows for you to get out of stuns, slows, and roots more quickly to save your life. You should have at least 3 when playing in light armor.
  • Resilient Resilient — Great for survivability in all PvP environments. Should be stacked on almost every armor piece.
  • Refreshing Refreshing (Targeted Build) — Top-tier cooldown reduction option for builds using lower cooldowns.
  • Refreshing Evasion Refreshing Evasion (AoE Build) — Top-tier cooldown reduction option for builds using longer cooldowns.
3.2.

A-Tier

  • Elemental Aversion Elemental Aversion — Defensive option that can provide value when being hit by ranged attacks.
3.3.

B-Tier

  • Refreshing Evasion Refreshing Evasion (Targeted Build) — Has minimal value on low cooldown abilities, but it does result in overall cooldown reduction.
  • Refreshing Refreshing (AoE Build) — Refreshing Evasion is the priority pick in an AoE build. But this can still serve as a beneficial option in a sub-optimal gear setup to reduce max cooldowns of long abilities.
  • Shirking Fortification Shirking Fortification — Fortify provides a small defensive gain for healers.
3.4.

C-Tier

These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.

4.

PvE Perks

4.1.

S-Tier

  • Refreshing Refreshing — Free cooldown reduction in PvE. This is generally a top pick due to the lack of needing PvP survivability perks.
  • Ward (Ancient, Angry Earth, Corrupted, Lost) — Provides free damage reduction for a specific enemy type.
4.2.

A-Tier

  • Elemental Aversion Elemental Aversion — High value defensive option because of the rotating elemental types in mutated expeditions.
  • Refreshing Evasion Refreshing Evasion — Free cooldown reduction in PvE. This is generally a top pick due to the lack of needing PvP survivability perks.
4.3.

B-Tier

  • Physical Aversion Physical Aversion — Has less value than Elemental Aversion Elemental Aversion due to the high amount of magical damage in all expeditions. It can be a viable third perk option.
  • Freedom Freedom — Can be beneficial to reduce CC effects from some enemy types.
  • Shirking Fortification Shirking Fortification — Provides great defensiveness when threat is focused on you and you are forced to dodge enemies.
4.4.

C-Tier

These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.

  • Invigorated Invigorated
  • Ward (Beast) — Although listed in C-Tier, this should not ever be taken until there is an expedtion with beast damage in it.
  • Refreshing Ward Refreshing Ward
5.

Jewelry Perks

The perks listed below are combined between amulet, ring, and earring. These are the best options for jewelry as a whole. Keep in mind that some of these perks are only able to go on a specific jewelry slot, for example Sacred Sacred can only go on a ring.

5.1.

S-Tier

  • Health Health — This is just free health. This is crucial on any amulet for increased survivability.
  • Stamina Recovery Stamina Recovery — Great survivability option in any healer kit. When you are being dove on by enemies this has the potential to save your life.
  • Sacred Sacred — Necessary ring perk to provide a free increase to healing. This is the equivalent of Blessed Blessed, but on ring.
  • Hearty Hearty — Necessary ring perk to increase mobility and survivability.
  • Refreshing Toast Refreshing Toast — Incredible perk to increase self healing and mana restoration. This is a "must-have" on earring.
  • Healthy Toast Healthy Toast — Great option to synergize with Refreshing Toast Refreshing Toast to burst heal with a health potion and a mana potion.
5.2.

A-Tier

5.3.

B-Tier

  • Slash Protection Slash Protection — Can be a great third perk option on amulet to help provide defensiveness against enemies using melee weapons who are trying to dive onto you.
  • Divine Divine — Can be a decent third perk option. Increasing healing received could save your life, but often times this amount is not enough and more defensive options have more value.
  • Regenerating Regenerating — Free additional healing over time. This can be a decent third perk option.
  • Purifying Toast Purifying Toast — Great option for removing debuffs if you use Infused Regeneration Potion Infused Regeneration Potion, but these are not always used by healer. It has a little bit of value, but only removing one debuff is not the most beneficial perk to take.
5.4.

C-Tier

These options are somewhat filler perks that can be used on a three perk item so you have more value than a simple two-perk item. They are low value perks in this aspect of gameplay and would not be the pick for a Best in Slot item.
