WotLK Classic Affliction Warlock Enchants and Consumables
On this page, we list the best enchants, flasks, potions, and food you can get for your Affliction Warlock in WotLK Classic for PvE content.
Best Enchants for Affliction Warlocks in Wrath of the Lich King Classic
Enchants are very important and luckily very easy to obtain since you can buy most of the Enchantment scrolls off the Auction House for pretty cheap. However, there are a couple enchants that are locked behind faction Reputations. For your Head enchant you must be Exalted with Kirin Tor which is as simple as wearing their tabard while doing your Heroic Dungeons. As for your shoulder Enchant, this is also locked behind reputation. This one is Sons of Hodir and starts with a quest chain in K3 of the Storm Peaks zone called They Took Our Men!.
Below is a list of the recommended enchants for a Affliction Warlock in Wrath of the Lich King Classic, listed in order of priority.
|Hands||Enchant Gloves - Exceptional Spellpower|
|Ring||Enchant Ring - Greater Spellpower (Requires Enchanting)|
Best Gems for Affliction Warlocks in Wrath of the Lich King
Gems are really straightforward. Use Chaotic Skyflare Diamond for your Meta Gem and use two Purified Twilight Opal to activate your Meta. Put Runed Scarlet Ruby in all Red Sockets and then in the Yellow Sockets that have Spirit or Spell Power bonuses, put either Reckless Monarch Topaz in it if you do NOT need Hit or use Veiled Monarch Topaz if you do need Hit. You also have the pure 16 Hit Rigid Autumn's Glow if you are really desperate for Hit, but you should not have to use one of these thanks to Suppression.
|Chaotic Skyflare Diamond — make sure you meet the requirements for it to be active|
|Runed Scarlet Ruby|
|Purified Twilight Opal — at least 2 to activate your Meta Gem|
|Runed Dragon's Eye — Requires Jewelcrafting; can use up to 3|
Best Consumables for Affliction Warlocks
Below is a list of the recommended consumables for a Affliction Warlock. Some consumables have multiple options depending on your needs; be sure to choose accordingly.
- Flask of the Frost Wyrm
- Potion of Speed or Potion of Wild Magic
- Flame Cap
- Spellstone or Firestone
- Firecracker Salmon, Fish Feast, Tender Shoveltusk Steak, or Snapper Extreme
- Spiced Mammoth Treats for your pet
- Saronite Bomb & Global Thermal Sapper Charge
- Heavy Frostweave Bandage
Flask of the Frost Wyrm is the only flask recommended as it provides the most Spell Power.
Use Create Spellstone on your weapon at all times. This will give you 1% extra damage to your damage-over-time spells, but also gives you 240 Haste rating.
- Potion of Speed
- Potion of Wild Magic
Potions play an important role as Affliction since the crit from Potion of Wild Magic is snapshotted into Corruption and naturally refreshing from Everlasting Affliction. For this reason you want to prepop a Potion of Wild Magic. Then you want to pop your Potion of Speed going into the execute phase.
- Fish Feast
- Firecracker Salmon or Tender Shoveltusk Steak
- Snapper Extreme
For your food you have a few options. You can use a Fish Feast, Firecracker Salmon, or Tender Shoveltusk Steak, which all give you the same amount, 46 spell Power and 40 Stamina. Most guilds have Fish Feast, but it is suggested to always keep a stack of whatever is the cheaper food on your server out of the Firecracker Salmon or Tender Shoveltusk Steak. There is also a food called Snapper Extreme, which gives you 40 Hit Rating and 40 Stamina. This food can come in handy if you are just shy of some Hit and want to finish it off.
Profession Items for Affliction Warlocks
- Saronite Bomb
- Global Thermal Sapper Charge
Both of these items should be used on cooldown. It might not seem like much, but the damage adds up. Use Global Thermal Sapper Charge on AoE if you can and throw some Saronite Bomb every 60 seconds. It does not have a cast time and also does not take a global to use it, so it is free damage.
- Heavy Frostweave Bandage
While these are minor and will see little use, it is always recommended to keep them on hand for the quick, Mana-free heal.
