Visions of N'Zoth Auction House Update Preview

Recommended Posts

Say goodbye to the old Auction House! In Visions of N'Zoth, it will be completely revamped and improved. Stackable items can no longer be purchased and sold in stacks, copper won't be displayed in the Auction House which means no more undercutting! It will be easier to set up your sell price, and more!

Note that Blizzard will be removing any unsold commodity listings a few hours before maintenance and returning them to the seller.

We’ve rebuilt Azeroth’s Auction House system to provide a smoother, faster, easier experience for those looking to buy and sell the latest and greatest supplies and gear. After further analysis of the way the Auction House is used, we’ve updated the functionality to fit with the way you use it every day.

Commodities (stackable items) will no longer be sold in individual stacks allowing you to select the number of items you want to buy, and the Auction House will automatically locate the lowest priced auctions to sell to you. You’ll be able to see the unit price and total price before you make your purchase. With the lowest-priced items always sorted to the top, you’ll never have to dig for the best deal again.

You’ll also be able to curate a favorites list by right-clicking on a listed item so you can quickly search for and purchase the items you regularly buy. You can view and revise your favorites list by clicking on the favorites button (star icon) next to the search bar.

Items will no longer be listed for copper and will only be listed in silver and gold. Sellers will still be able to set a bid price and a buyout price along with the duration for the auction they want to list. When selling commodity items, rather than setting a price for stacks of items, you’ll be able to choose a unit price, allowing buyers the ability to decide how many of an item they wish to purchase.

To change over to the updated Auction House, we’ll be removing any unsold commodity listings a few hours before maintenance and returning them to the seller. Any deposits from these returned items will not be refunded, but don’t worry—a warning will show to affected sellers before they decide to post new sales. Once this occurs, no new commodities will be able to be listed until the transition is complete.

Non-commodity (stackable items) will not be affected by the transition.

How will this affect TSM I wonder, if at all?

Well it'll definitely need an update to work with the new UI. And probably not be super useful for commodities.

They said it will be updated, and yeah it is much less needed now, but knowing the average prices for the past days is still very useful, to understand if a commodity is at a high, or low point.

For older materials yes, but current expansion materials depend more on work orders and 7th Legion/Honorbound/Mechagon dailies.

The Mission Table has been upgraded in Shadowlands to Adventures, an auto-battler that you will be able to play through the WoW Companion App and here is the official preview of the feature.
Prepare to put your tactical skills to the test. In the expansion’s new Adventures feature, you’ll send your allies into the Shadowlands to tackle unique challenges for your chosen Covenant. You’ll need to be strategic about how you take on these combat puzzles, including who you’ll send to face them and how you’ll use their skills to claim victory.
You’ll also be able to check in on and continue your Adventures offline with the WoW Companion App.
Once you’ve joined your chosen Covenant, you’ll be able to begin undertaking Adventures from the dedicated table within your Sanctum. Through the interface, you’ll be able to view available Adventures, the associated rewards, the cost to undertake them, the state of your units, and how challenging the enemies are within that Adventure. You’ll want to choose a solid mix from your Adventurers, Soulbinds, and troops to create a party of up to 5 units to deal with the various threats.
With the introduction of Soulbinds in Shadowlands, we wanted to find a compelling way to bring their individual personality traits into as many aspects of the game as possible, including Adventures. Similar to previous high-profile personalities in past expansions’ Missions, Soulbinds will be able to lead the charge while expressing their own motivations and goals through the Adventures system.
When it’s time to prepare for battle, positioning matters. You’ll need to use strategy in how you place your Adventurers to take on the enemies they’ll engage with and counter their abilities. For example, you may want to make sure your toughest allies are placed in the front of the formation, with more fragile allies placed toward the back so damage to them is minimized and they can use their ranged abilities.
At the completion of an Adventure, you’ll be able to see the results through a replay of the battle. You’ll want to pay close attention to which units performed well, which you may want to reposition, or which you might want to exclude in future similar fights to make the most of them in your next encounters.
To the victor goes the spoils! Should your troops defeat the encounter, you’ll collect your earned rewards including pets, mounts, gold, Anima, and more.
Each Covenant provides a variety of 15 unique allies, including the Soulbinds that you’ll meet, 6 Adventurers that you’ll recruit through Renown, and an additional 6 who can be rescued from within Torghast, Tower of the Damned. Four universal Adventurers can also be recruited by any Covenant from within Torghast, bringing your potential allies to 19.
As your allies progress through the various challenges that Adventures present, they’ll grow stronger, allowing them to take on more challenging Adventures for even better rewards.
Check back on the official site in the future to learn more about the updated WoW Companion App.

Obviously, spoilers for what happens to Nathanos in the pre-patch below.

We've known for quite some time that Nathanos would be some type of world boss in the pre-patch, but now it's time for his fate to be sealed... at least until Shadowlands comes around and we maybe possibly see him again. In any case, everyone's (least) favorite toady is getting his comeuppance in the pre-patch, as he's both a World Quest and regular quest target! We have some footage of the encounter, as we figured a lot of players would like to see him die (again), and there's actually a really cool ending to the quest, as we find out who exactly performed the killing blow after the fights stops at 10%.

A cinematic then plays, but it's not implemented yet and replaced with a placeholder (the Teldrassil burning, of all things), but we do find out afterwards that Tyrande delivered the killing blow, as Lorthemar tells us, so presumably the cinematic will show us that part. We even get a speech from Calia Menethil thrown in as well!

It seems there won't be any physical copies of Shadowlands available for the Base Edition of the game, so you will need to purchase the Collector's Edition if you're looking to get one.
Reddit user tERROR2693 pointed out they had a call from their local game supplier that canceled their Shadowlands pre-order because there will be only physical copies of the Collector's Edition available and the Base Edition of the game will be digital-only.
