Character Explanation
Firefly is a Superbreak DPS focused around dealing damage during her Ultimate Fyrefly Type-IV: Complete Combustion. Firefly's Ultimate lasts for a fixed SPD, grants Firefly a large boost in SPD (60 at Lv10), increases Weakness Break Efficiency, transforms her abilities into stronger versions and increases Break DMG dealt.
Firefly's Ultimate Fyrefly Type-IV: Complete Combustion lasts for 70 SPD which means you want to have multiples of 70 SPD on Firefly, after buffs, in order to get the most actions within her Ultimate's duration. For example at 210 SPD on Firefly she will get to attack 4 times within Ultimate (Once immediately after Ultimate, then at +47.62 AV, +95.24 AV, and 142.86 AV).
Firefly has a very high Ultimate Energy cost of 240 and her Enhanced Abilities do not Regenerate Energy. For Firefly to build her Ultimate quickly She must use her normal Skill Order: Aerial Bombardment which generates a fixed amount of Energy up to 60% Energy (At lv10) — effectively this skill generates 72 Energy, which is significantly more than a Basic Attack generating 20. This means it is incredibly important for Firefly to have skill points available on her turn or she will experience a significant downtime in her DPS output.
Firefly's Enhanced Skill Fyrefly Type-IV: Deathstar Overload can apply Fire Weakness to the main target she hits allowing her to always reduce enemy toughness effectively. Additionally, the skill gets upgraded to a Blast skill and has higher Toughness Damage than the base Skill. Her Enhanced Skill will also Heal Firefly which mitigates the self damage inflicted by her baseline skill Order: Aerial Bombardment.
Firefly's Enhanced Basic ATK Fyrefly Type-IV: Pyrogenic Decimation will heal Firefly similar to her Enhanced Skill and has slightly higher Toughness Damage. You would ideally not have to use this as it does significantly less Toughness Damage than her Skill.
Firefly's Technique Δ Order: Meteoric Incineration is very important to use on fights that are not Fire Weak as it will AOE apply Fire Weakness at the start of each Wave. This lets you do full damage immediately without having to apply Fire Weakness with her Enhanced Skill.
Firefly's A2 Trace Module γ: Core Overload is a powerful trace that converts ATK into Break Effect allowing her to scale damage with ATK on gear. This is less effective than getting a Break Effect roll but makes her easier to gear.
Firefly's A4 Trace Module β: Autoreactive Armor provides important Break Effect breakpoints of 200% and 360% to reach as it grants her inherent Super Break DMG without it being granted by a support. This bonus is dynamic and does not require you to build that much Break purely on Firefly and Break Effect buffs granted by support characters can help you reach the Breakpoints.
Firefly's A6 Trace Module α: Antilag Outburst allows Firefly to still reduce the Toughness of enemies without Fire Weakness at 55% effect while she is in the Complete Combustion state. This helps Firefly still be effective on cleave encounters where smaller enemies spawn without Fire Weakness.
Build Advice
The most important thing for building Firefly is targeting Speed Breakpoints for her Ultimate. The easiest SPD breakpoint to reach is the 210 SPD breakpoint in ultimate which needs 150 SPD on your character sheet in order to achieve as her Ultimate will provide the final 60 SPD to reach 210 SPD (at Lv10 Ultimate.)
As Firefly does not start in her Ultimate we suggest exceeding the theoretical 150 SPD required for her Ultimate action breakpoint so that she can get an additional action within a fight. For example, 154 SPD will give an additional Attack in 300 AV, 156 SPD will give an additional Attack in 250 AV, 165 SPD will give an additional Attack in 150 AV.
The next most important thing to do on Firefly is maximise her Break Effect as the majority of her damage comes from Break and her A4 Trace Module β: Autoreactive Armor has breakpoints at 200%/360% Break Effect. You will not be able to get to 360% Break Effect purely with Firefly's own gear but her best Supporting Characters provide significant Break Effect buffs which make getting there easy.
Firefly's A2 Trace Module γ: Core Overload will grant 0.8% Break Effect for every 10 points of ATK over 1800. This makes an ATK% roll on gear half as effective as a Break Roll for DPS.
Firefly's Best Eidolons
Firefly's first Eidolon In Reddened Chrysalis, I Once Rest is very powerful because it negates the Skill Point cost of her Enhanced Skill. This lets you use more Skills on the Supporting Characters on your team making their Ultimates easier to maintain as well as allowing them to contribute more Break Damage. Furthermore, Firefly's Enhanced Skill does almost all of her damage the 15% DEF Ignore is very good despite being limited. When combined this is excellent for overall Team DPS.
Firefly's E2 From Shattered Sky, I Free Fall is a big improvement to DPS especially when paired with Fugue that allows you to break enemies twice. This Eidolon will grant a significant number of Extra Turns resulting in a large DPS gain. This is an efficient stopping point for investment and we do nor recommend going further unless you specifically wanted E6 as all of the eidolons up to that do not provide very much DPS at all.
Firefly's E3 Amidst Silenced Stars, I Deep Sleep has very little effect on her overall DPS output as most of her DPS comes from Superbreak which is not affected by this Eidolon.
Firefly's E4 Upon Lighted Fyrefly, I Soon Gaze does not provide any DPS stats but the Effect RES can be useful to prevent Crowd Control. With the bonus from this Eidolon added to the Effect RES provided by her Talent she almost is immune to Crowd Control. This is not worth targeting and instead can be thought of as part of the complete E6 Package.
Firefly's E5 From Undreamt Night, I Thence Shine is quite weak. It provides a small increase in damage via the Ultimate Levels. The higher Level ultimate provides an Extra 6 SPD and 2% increased Break DMG taken on enemies while Firefly is in the Complete Combustion state from her Ultimate. This Eidolon is worth ~1-3% DPS depending on whether the SPD lets you reach an Action breakpoint for a fight.
Firefly's E6 In Finalized Morrow, I Full Bloom is an extremely powerful Eidolon varying between 50% and 60% increased DPS done. Despite this Eidolons power it does not make up for the incredibly weak E3 through E6 and you would be better off investing in Support Eidolons such as Fugue or The Dahlia.
