Jiuyuan's Stat Priority

When turning Jiuyuan into a CRIT DPS, you will definitely want to grab as many substats supporting that build-option as possible.

Jiuyuan's Skill Priority

Most of Jiuyuan's damage comes from her Ultimate, her Lethal Rose Pact Attachment, and Rose Pact Bullets triggering the Pact. This lets her generate additional Ultimate Energy, for frequent use of her Ult, which is why you want to level it quickly. The damage of the Pact Bullets and Attachment get scaled through her Basic Attack though, which is why we currently consider it very important to level, alongside her Ultimate. Her Skill only scales the raw damage, and will provide four additional bullets even at level 1.

Remember that you can switch them at any time to try out different ones, or tailor your choices for a specific fight or situation.

How to Play Jiuyuan

Jiuyuan functions primarily as a main-DPS building her Rose Pact Bullets through her different attacks while building up lethal rose pact's drain on enemies. She can function as a sub-DPS focused mainly on her skill and burst, though she does want more on-field time than some dedicated sub-DPS Espers.

Jiuyuan's kit is quite confusing to read at first, but fundamentally she simply wants to apply her Lethal Rose Pact to enemies and trigger those pacts for big bursts of damage.

As Jiuyuan fights with her Basic Attacks, Critical Riposte, Redirect Skill, and Support Skill she builds up Rose Pact Bullets, up to a max of 6. These bullets can be fired at any time by holding her Basic Attack button. Bullets prioritize any enemies with Lethal Rose Pacts first and deal Anima DMG.

Lethal Rose Pact is a unique Attachment Jiuyuan applies to enemies through either her last hit of her Basic Attack combo, Critical Riposte, Redirect skill, or Vita Bud shots(if her second passive is unlocked). When applied to enemies, the enemies immediately begin taking damage over time. After 5 seconds, or when hit by her Ultimate, the pact enters what is called the pact settlement stage. At this point shooting the enemies with Rose Pact Bullets, or the final hit of her Ultimate, causes the pacts to be removed and deals a large hit of damage.

An important note is that while Lethal Rose Pact does deal damage to enemies over its duration, the damage is considered Attachment damage and not Damage Over Time. This means that it is impacted by buffs such as her signature Arc Reality Refuge but does not count as DOT for something such as Sakiri's Scorch reaction enhancement.

Within a team, as a main-DPS her rotations are fairly simple. Once she is on field you want to use her Basic Attack combo and Redirect Skill to build up her bullets to then fire at enemies. You should prioritize saving the bullets until enemies have Lethal Rose Pacts in settlement (indicated by the open rose flower under the enemy health bar). Her ultimate should be used when available as long as enemies have Lethal Rose Pacts.

As a sub-DPS her rotation is even simpler, she is brought on-field to use her skill, attacking while waiting for the pacts to enter Settlement, before immediately shooting her bullets and switching off-field. When her Ultimate is available, her rotation is very quick as you want to use her skill to establish the pacts and immediately fire off her Ultimate to settle the pacts before switching off.

A common mistake when using her Ultimate is assuming she establishes Lethal Rose Pacts with it to then activate that increased settlement damage. Her Ultimate does not actually establish pacts, meaning if you use it against enemies that don't have pacts already on them, you will miss out on a lot of damage.
