Lord Marrowgar is the first boss of Icecrown Citadel. This fight is considered an entry level encounter, being much easier than the rest of the raid. Do not forget to be aware of the various Raid Buffs and Debuffs as you work to optimize your Raid Composition for this encounter's mechanics!

- Fire is NOT a DPS increase.
Healer Tips

Bone Storm and
Bone Spike victims.

Bone Slice. - Always know where the other tank is, so you can quickly stack together

Bone Storm.
Strategy for Lord Marrowgar
Start off by having everyone except for your healers move into melee range of
the boss. Healers should spread out for the
Coldflames, but be sure
to stay in range of the raid. Tanks will want to quickly run in together and
stay stacked at all times. You will want to use all offensive cooldowns right
away on the pull to get as much damage in as possible before mechanics start
going off. Be sure you do not walk too far in front of the boss, or you risk
being hit by
Bone Slice.
The main focus of the raid in this phase is to simply avoid the
Coldflames and kill the Bone Spikes to free players. Melee
DPS should prioritize the spikes in melee range, while Ranged DPS focus on
spikes that melee can not reach easily.
After 60 seconds, Lord Marrowgar will use
Bone Storm, running around the
room and attacking all nearby enemies every 2 seconds. Coordinate raid-wide
defensive spells here to help reduce the damage output. During this spin,
Lord Marrowgar will target the player that is furthest away from him, and move
towards them. It is ideal to have your tanks split apart on opposite sides of
the room to help control where Lord Marrowgar moves. Everyone should be mindful of
the
Coldflame patches as you move around during this phase, as the
fire is much more dangerous than the whirlwind. After 25 seconds, Lord Marrowgar will
stop spinning and returns to the previous phase.
After 25 seconds, Lord Marrowgar will stop spinning and returns to the previous
phase. Tanks must be sure to stack together quickly to split the
Bone Slice damage; and DPS players must quickly stack back in melee
range of the boss to deal with the coming Bone Spikes. The fight simply
repeats from this point until Lord Marrowgar is defeated
