Season of Discovery Warlock: Rune Slots and Rune Locations

Metamorphosis — Transform into a Demon, increasing Armor by 500%, reducing the chance you will be critically hit by 6%, increasing your threat by 100%, increasing mana gained from Life Tap by 100%, transforming the functionality of some of your abilities, and granting some new abilities: Searing Pain is now instant, Shadow Bolt becomes Shadow Cleave, a Shadow melee attack that hits up to three nearby enemies, but has a 6 second cooldown, Fear turns into a spell called Menace and is now your taunt and will taunt the target to attack you for 3 seconds and has a 10 second cooldown.

Both factions need to obtain the Bough of Altek from the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore and the Orb of Des from the Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge Mountains. You will need help doing this as the mobs in both towers are LV 29 and LV 30, with a Skull ??? Elite at the top. Then you will need to pick up a quest call The Orb of Soran'ruk next to Camp Taurajo from Doan Karhan. This has you get some items. You will need three Soran'ruk Fragment that are only obtained in the Blackfathom Deeps raid from the Twilight Acolytes and then a Large Soran'ruk Fragment from Shadowfang Keep. Turn that quest in and pick up the next one that has you collect 10 bloods from Southeastern Ashenvale from any of the demons down there. Once collected, click the altar to start an event. Stand in the purple summoning circle and kill the demons that come out. The only way to complete the ritual properly is to get the killing blow on the big infernal that will come out at the end. Once you do, a quest will pop up and you turn it in back at Doan Karhan to get your Metamorphosis.

Shadow Bolt Volley — Your Shadow Bolt now strikes up to five targets within a chain distance of 10 yards, but for 20% reduced damage.

There is two spots for Horde. In the Barrens you can go to Supervisor Lugwizzle located at the Sludge Fen in Northern Barrens and cast Drain Soul on him to get Soul of Greed. Take that item to 57, 9 on the map and you will find a Hungry Idol. Use Soul of Greed.

The other way is in Silverpine. Go to the cave that is right under Ambermill on the bottom of Silverpine. Kill enemies until they drop a Tortured Soul. You must be below 80% HP to use it. Life Tap to get below 80%, then use the item. It will spawn a LV 20 Elite, kill that Elite and you will recieve Shadow Bolt Volley.

Delmanis the Hated drops this from Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore

Use Shadow Bolt or Corruption on Demonic Remains in Loch Modan at 71,68. After it will spawn an enemy call Graix, who drops the Rune once you kill him.

Chaos Bolt — Sends a bolt of chaotic fire at the enemy, dealing 552 to 662 Fire damage. Chaos Bolt always hits, cannot be resisted, and its knowledge causes all your Fire spells to pierce through absorption effects.

Undead — There is a murloc incased in an ice block on the west side of the big lake above Brill. You need to use your fire abilities with the help of one other person to free the murloc, then he will drop Chaos Bolt.

Orc — There is a murloc incased in an ice block to the east of Razor Hill at 58,45. You need to use your fire abilities with the help of one other person to free the murloc, then he will drop Chaos Bolt

Human — There is a murloc incased in an ice block at Stonecairn Lake around 76,49. You need to use your fire abilities with the help of one other person to free the murloc, then he will drop Chaos Bolt

Gnome — There is a Trogg incased in an ice block at the Gol'bolar Quarry. You need to use your fire abilities with the help of one other person to free the murloc, then he will drop Chaos Bolt

Haunt — Unleash a ghostly soul on an enemy, dealing 251 to 295 damage, and increasing all Shadow damage over time you deal to that target by 20%. When the Haunt ends or is dispelled, you will be healed for all the damage it dealt to your target.

Undead — Once you hit LV 2, you will find a quest from you Warlock Trainer that will send you to find a chest. The chest is north in the spider cave.

Orc — Once you hit LV 2, you will find a quest from you Warlock Trainer that will send you to find a chest. The chest is north in the Burning Blade Coven.

Human — Once you hit LV 2, you will find a quest from you Warlock Trainer that will send you to find a chest. The chest is by 50,51 next to the two outhouses.

Gnome — Once you hit LV 2, you will find a quest from you Warlock Trainer that will send you to find a chest. The chest is west of where you start as a gnome by the Trogg Camp.

Incinerate — Burn your enemy for 222 to 258 damage and increase all Fire damage you deal by 25% for the next 15 sec.

This Rune drops from the same NPC in Redridge. His name is Incinerator Gar'im and he's located in the cave at the bottom of Redridge Mountains around 77,84.

Demonic Grace — Surge with fel energy, increasing your pet's and your own dodge chance by 30%, and your chance to critically strike with all attacks by 30%. Lasts 6 sec.

Undead — Kill and loot Gnoll Blood from Gnolls in Garren's Hunt. Kill and loot Wolf Jawbone from Darkhounds in the Tirisfal Glades. Kill and loot Ominous Tome from Skeletons in Agamand Mills. Take all three of these to the Undercity Sewers and look for a Summoning Circle. Click the Ominous Tome and kill the demon that spawns.

Orc — Kill and loot Makrura Leg from Makruras in the area. Kill and loot Kul Tiran Skull from Kul Tiran mobs in the Keep. Kill and loot Ominous Tome from Voodoo Trolls in Echo Isles. Take all three of these Zalazane and look for a Summoning Circle. Click the Ominous Tome and kill the demon that spawns.

Human — Kill and loot Gnoll Blood from any Gnolls. Kill and loot Wolf Jawbone from Prowlers and Wolfs in the Tirisfal Glades. Kill and loot Ominous Tome from Kobalds from Jasperlode and Fargodeep Mine. Take all three of these to the Slaughtered Lamb and look for a Summoning Circle. Click the Ominous Tome and kill the demon that spawns.

Gnome — Kill and loot Wendigo Blood from Wendigos. Kill and loot Wolf Jawbone from any wolf sin Coldridge Valley Kill and loot Ominous Tome from Skeletons in Agamand Mills. Take all three of these to Shimmering Ridge and look for a Summoning Circle. Click the Ominous Tome and kill the demon that spawns.

Demonic Pact — Your pet's critical strikes apply the Demonic Pact effect to your party members for 45 sec. Demonic Pact increases spell damage and healing by 10% of your spell damage or 13 Spell Power, whichever is higher. Does not work on Subjugated demons.

Both Horde and Alliance get this Rune the same way. There is a vendor in Ratchet named Grizzby. You must be level 20 to see the quests. He will give you three quests to bring him items. Bring him those items and you will be able to buy the Rune for 5 gold.

Everlasting Affliction — Drain Life, Drain Soul, Shadow Bolt, Shadow Cleave, Searing Pain, Incinerate, and Haunt refresh the duration of your Corruption on the target back to its maximum duration.

This Rune can be bought for 4 gold 50 silver once you get honored with the Durotar Supply and Logistics if you're Horde or Azeroth Commerce Authority if you're Alliance.

Lake of Fire — Rain of Fire also leaves a Lake of Fire on the ground that increases all Fire damage you deal and your Demon pet deals to affected enemies by 40% for 15 sec. Note that you do not need to wait out the entire Rain of Fire channel to get the Lake buff, you can cancel the channel the second you start casting Rain of Fire.

This Rune can be found by both factions going to Hillsbrad and looking for the roaming vendor named Zixil. He's a goblin who walks around by Tarren Mill with a big shredder. Purchase the Demonlition Explosives from him and take it to Durnholde Keep 78,39 by the NPC that is chained to a ball. There is ruble on the ground next to him. Set the Demonlition Explosives on the ground next to the rubble. Once it blows up you will see a chest with the Rune in it.

Master Channeler — Your Drain Life is no longer channeled, lasts 15 sec with a 15 sec cooldown, costs 100% more mana, and heals you for 50% more each time it deals damage.

Undead — Inside the Deep Elm Mine around 57,45 in Silverpine Forest, you will see a big Elite Imp called Sadistic Fiend. Cast Curse of Recklessness on him to activate him, then kill him.

Orc — In the barrens around 58,26 you will see an altar. Stand on it and Life Tap below 10% HP, then Health Funnel your pet. Then you will receive the Rune.

Human — Kill Dark Strand Fanatics in Darkshore until you get the Rune to drop.

Gnome — Look for Greishan Ironstove and buy a Malevolent Pie. Eat it and you will get the Rune.

Soul Siphon — Increases the amount drained by your Drain Life and Drain Soul spells by an additional 6% for each of your Warlock Shadow effects afflicting the target, up to a maximum of 18% additional effect.

Undead — Cast Drain Soul on any critter to get a Pure Shard. Cast Drain Soul on Maggot Eye in the fields above Brill around 58, 31 to get a Wanted Shard. Turn both of these in to Denton Bleakway in Undercity by your Warlock trainer and he will give you the Rune.

Orc — Cast Drain Soul on any critter to get a Pure Shard. Cast Drain Soul on Gazz'us to get the Wanted Shard. Turn in both to Darmak Bloodhowl in Razor Hill.

Human — Cast Drain Soul on any critter to get an Innocent Shard. Cast Drain Soul on Hogger to get the Wanted Shard. Turn in both to Damien Kane in the GoldShire Inn.

Orc — Cast Drain Soul on any critter to get an Innocent Shard.Cast Drain Soul on Captain Beld to get the Wanted Shard. Turn both into Gaklik Voidtwist in Kharanos

Demonic Tactics — Increases the melee and spell critical strike chance of you and your pet by 10%.

For Horde, go to Tirisfal Glades to around 76,45 and you will see a dead Orc Acolyte on the ground. Click him to pick up two items. Bring those two items to the Warlock trainer in Brill. They will then tell you to go back to Orc and use the Powerless Artifact by him. Then you have 10 minutes to go back to the trainer. You will then get the Rune. You cannot die while running back with the 10 minute debuff or you will have to restart the quest.

For Alliance, got to Jasperlode Mine and loot the dead Acolyte. Bring the two items to the Warlock Trainer in Goldshire. They will then tell you to go back to dead Acolyte and use the Powerless Artifact by him. Then you have 10 minutes to go back to the trainer. You will then get the Rune. You cannot die while running back with the 10 minute debuff or you will have to restart the quest.

Grimoire of Synergy — This gives both you and your demon a 5% chance to increase the damage done by the other by 5% for 15. This is not a horrible rune, but is rather lackluster in comparison to both the other runes in the belt slot.

You have to have Metamorphosis and level 30 to be able to see the quest giver

• Once level 30, check your mail from Doan and then go to the Barrens questgiver where you did your Metamorphosis quest.
• Accept the quest A Solid Foundation from Raszel.
• Go to Bough Shadow (North East, near 90,40), loot a Bough of Shadows from a tree and return to Raszel in the Barrens. Be careful as this will damage you, so you Shadow Ward to help.
• Accept Soul Vessel and craft or find an Engineer to craft the Soul Vessel (This is a Pattern that you must be Honored with supply vendors).
• Head to Mannoroc Coven (51.2, 82.6) and find Raszel near an altar.
• Complete the event after accepting the quest Tempting Fate to finish the quest chain and receive the rune.
• You willl have to kill a 40 elite called Des'Altek during the event.

Invocation — Whenever you refresh Corruption, Immolate, Curse of Agony, and Siphon Life when there is at most 6 seconds left on the DoT, it will istantly deal whatever damage was remaining from the DoT. For example, Immolate is a 15 second DoT. Refreshing this at 9 seconds will give you the last two ticks that were remaining on the Immolate. This allows you to get the full damage of teh 15 second DoT after 9 seconds.

Recommended level 35+ due to the Conjurors being 35+ elites and highly populated.

• Kill Syndicate Conjurors for 10 Conjuror's Pendants in Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands.
• Drain soul on their voidwalker minion to get a Soul of the Void.
• Combine them at the Void Prism on the top floor of a house in Stromgarde Keep.
• Kill the level 36 elite Void Seeker that spawns.

Shadow and Flame — All of your critical strikes with Fire and Shadow spells will increase the damage you do with Fire or Shadow(depending on which crit) by 10% for 10 seconds. For example if your Shadow Bolt crits, you will then get 10% increased Shadow damage for 10 seconds.

Suggestd to be level 36+ as the Demon summoned to kill is a level 40. You also have to be level 30 to get the quest.

1. Accept the quest Highway Robbery from the Extinguished Fire at 46,54 in the Kodo Graveyard in Desolace.
2. Turn in Highway Robbery to Bibbly F'utzbuckle at 62, 39 in Desolace and accept the quest On the Lam.
3. Turn in quest On the Lam to the Marauder next to Nixxrax Fillamug in the Booty Bay Inn and accept the followup quest that he gives you.
4. Purchase one Cherry Grog and turn the quest in.
5. Accept the next followup quest and go to 53, 91 near the bridge in southern Arathi Highlands.
6. Use the boat to get to 94, 71 in the east outer shore of Arathi Highlands and talk to Illari Duskfeather.
7. Kill her.
8. Take the key from the pouch she drops then loot the chest on the docks for the rune.

Dance of the Wicked — Both you and your demon gain dodge chance equal to your spell critical strike chance each time you crit, and you also both will regain 2% maximum mana. This is decent for tanking as it will give you some dodge and some mana back.

Go to any of the following places and loot the Brimstone Carving off of a Reckless Warlock. Once you've obtained it, cast Hellfire on yourself until it turns into the rune. I had to lose most my health, heal up and Hellfire twice to obtain it.

• Thousand Needles on the west side by 11,41.
• The Gurubashi Arena on the right side on the ground.
• Northeastern Desolace in Sargeron by 75,13.
• Alterac Mountains in Crushridge Hold by 53,47.

Demonic Knowledge — This increases your spell damage by 10% of whatever your Demons total Stamina and Intellect are. For example, if your pet has 50 Stamina and 50 Intellect, that equates to a total of 100, therefore you would gain 10 spell damage.

Recommended to be level 38+ and in a group up as the Dark Riders are level 41 elites and there is a ton of PvP.

• Go to 52,35 in Deadwind Pass, speak to the Dalaran Agent and get the Ariden's Sigil trinket.
• Equip the trinket and find the Seven Dark Riders (Elites) spread across Azeroth. Use the trinket at the locations below once you get a "Dark Presence" buff to summon them and fight.
• Collect all 7 Relics and return to the Dalaran Agent to collect your rune.

• Deadwind Pass: The Dark Rider can be found near 43, 29.
• Duskwood: the Dark Rider can be found at near 23 47
• Swamp of Sorrows: the Dark Rider can be found near 69 28
• Arathi Highlands: the Dark Rider can be found near 60 40
• Badlands: the Dark Rider can be found near 58 54.
• The Barrens: the Dark Rider can be found near 52 36.
• Desolace: the Dark Rider can be found near 65 25

Shadowflame — This is an AoE ability that hits all targets in a cone in front of you for decent damage, while also leaving a DoT on them afterwards. This will consume Conflagrate.

It's suggested that you're level 35+ as the end boss is a level 38 elite.

1. Go to Shadowbreak Ravine in South East Desolace around 78, 83.
2. Cast Shadow Ward on yourself. This does a lot of Shadow Damage and Shadow Ward will help negate it.
3. Summon your Voidwalker and Sacrifice him.
4. Start channeling with the Ritual of Sacrifice for five seconds.
5. You must take a total of 125% HP, Shadow Ward. The ritual will do 25% Shadow Damage every second.
6. Once you list 125% health loss after 5 seconds, it will spawn Seductress Ceeyna. Kill her and loot the Rune of Shadow Flame

Bonus tips: She is fearable, simply fear her and keep your DoT's on her. You cannot be healed or move at all during the Ritual summon.
