Sunna Guide & Best Builds
Welcome to our Sunna build guide for Zenless Zone Zero. Sunna is a powerful S-Rank Physical Physical Support Support Agent capable of providing significant buffs to Attack Attack and Anomaly Agents. In our guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Sunna, from building the best Drive Discs and W-Engines to important stat priorities and combos.
Sunna's Best W-Engines
Listed below are Sunna's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Sunna can vary based on specific team comps such as a team with an Attack Agent DPS or Anomaly Agent DPS.
Sunna is still in beta and recommendations may still change as the beta develops.
Sunna's Signature W-Engine
Weeping Cradle
While off-field, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.6/0.75/0.9/1.05/1.2/s. Attacks from the equipper increase all units' DMG against a struck target by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for 3 seconds. During this period, this effect is further increased by 1.7/2/2.5/3/3.3% every 0.5s, up to a maximum additional increase of 10.2/12/15/18/19.8%. Repeated triggers only refresh the duration without refreshing the DMG increase effect. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Elegant Vanity
When any squad member enters the field through a Quick Assist, Chain Attack, Defensive Assist, or Evasive Assist, the equipper gains 5/5.5/6/6.5/7 Energy. This effect can trigger once every 5s. When the equipper consumes 25 or more Energy, the DMG dealt by all squad members increases by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%, stacking up to 2 times, and lasting 20s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Only one instance of this effect can exist in the same squad.
Unfettered Game Ball
Whenever the equipper's attack triggers an Attribute Counter effect, all units' CRIT Rate against the struck enemy increases by 12/13.5/15.5/17.5/20% for 12s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Kaboom the Cannon
When any friendly unit in the squad attacks and hits an enemy, all friendly units' ATK increases by 2.5/2.8/3.2/3.6/4% for 8s, stacking up to 4 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately, and each friendly unit can provide 1 stack of the buff. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Since Sunna is still in beta, information is still subject to change. It is not recommended to farm for specific W-Engines from now on until information is officially confirmed.
Best Drive Discs for Sunna
Sunna's best Drive Disc set will likely be the Moonlight Lullaby Drive Disc Set. Since information is still subject to change, it is not recommended to farm for specific Drive Disc sets from now on until information is officially confirmed.
Moonlight Lullaby
4-Piece Set: When the equipper is a Support character and uses an EX Special Attack or Ultimate, the DMG dealt by all squad members increases by 18% for 25s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
2-Piece Recommendations include:
- Swing Jazz - Any 2pc ER
- Astral Voice - Any 2pc Attack
Astral Voice
4-Piece Set: Whenever any squad member enters the field using a Quick Assist, all squad members gain 1 stack of Astral, up to a maximum of 3 stacks, and lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Each stack of Astral increases the DMG dealt by the character entering the field using a Quick Assist by 8%. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Sunna's Stat Priority
Generally speaking when building Sunna, Attack is the most important stat to prioritize as her attack buffs directly scale off of her own Attack stat. If enough attack is accumulated, you can then consider focusing on other stats such as CRIT DMG/Rate and PEN. Energy Regen will likely be a useful stat to ensure that Sunna can use her Ex-Special Attack consistently to provide buffs to the team.
As Sunna can be played with either Attack Attack or Anomaly Agents, her core skill's bonus damage can change slightly. With Attack Attack Agents, building CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG can potentially allow Sunna to deal slightly more damage. With Anomaly Agents however, her core skill's bonus damage will always CRIT, which makes building CRIT rate ineffective. Because of this, substat priority can change slightly based on team comp. A general option might just be to focus on ATK (to reach Sunna's ATK buff target) then CRIT DMG over CRIT Rate.
Sunna's Skill Priority
As Sunna is still in beta, information is still subject to change. Farming materials for specific skills is not recommended until official information is confirmed.
How to Play Sunna
This section is highly subject to change, information here is very likely to change as the beta develops.
Preliminary Playstyle Overview
Sunna is a Support Support Agent with specific buffing capabilities towards Attack Attack and Anomaly Agents. Most of Sunna's kit revolves around using her Ex-Special, and marking enemies with her core skill attack.
Sunna's Ex-Special will summon a 'cat' and activates the [Fever] state. The 'cat' allows her to mark enemies from off-field. The [Fever] state grants buffs to squad members and allows Sunna to use the second version of her Ex-Special at no cost (once per [Fever] state), which deals damage and more importantly activates an Ether Veil: Idol. In practice, switching into Sunna will be to use her Ex-Special to enter the [Fever] state, then use her second Ex-Special to activate her Ether Veil: Idol in which she effectively uses 2 Ex-Specials back to back.
During the [Fever] State Sunna provides:
- Up to 1,000 Attack.
The Fever state provides an attack buff, but also allows you to activate Sunna's Ether Veil: Idol. Both the Ether Veil and [Fever] state provide:
- Up to 1,000 Attack. (Core Skill)
- 30% Stun DMG Multiplier to any enemy hit by squad members. (Faction Bonus)
- 15% CRIT DMG - Attack Attack Agents only. (Faction Bonus)
- 30 Anomaly Proficiency - Anomaly Agents only. (Faction Bonus)
Sunna's core skill will mark enemies hit by her various skills or by the 'cat' she summons. The 'cat' Sunna summons can help mark enemies while Sunna is off-field by consuming Sunna's special resource, which can be accumulated when any squad member activates or extends an Ether Veil. Sunna's mark has multiple stages which any agent can build up by triggering heavy attacks. At the 3rd and final stage, the mark detonates and deals damage. However, the way the mark deals damage can change based on the team comp.
- With Attack Attack Agents, the mark deals DMG equal to 210% of Attack.
- With Anomaly Agents, the mark deals the same damage but always Crits.
This differentiation can slightly change how Sunna is built. Keep in mind that information is still subject to change as the beta develops.
