Tales of the Hobbling Crow Event Guide for Zenless Zone Zero

This event will take place during version 3.0 of the game, from July 3rd, 2026, until July 20, 2026.

During the event, Proxies will have to defend their own case against a terrifying Bangboo investigator named Hobble.

In order to participate you will need to reach Inter-Knot level 20 and complete the Main Story Chapter 1 Intermission.

During this event, you will meet a new Bangboo, Hobble, who is currently investigating you. In order to defend your case, it is your job to gather enough clues and evidence. You will have to complete various commissions in order to do so!

You will team up with Hobble and Crowe from The Hobbling Crow Detective Agency to uncover the truth and solve problems for the residents of Booastrum.

The event includes 5 commission incidents:

• Woofy Weirdness
• Despairing Boo
• Debt Crisis
• Parent-Child Time Lag
• Last-Minute Special Blend

You will need to complete the first commission incident and reach the specified time to unlock the next one.

First, head to Roscaelifer and talk to Hobble in front of the Academy.

You will have to investigate clients, note down key information from the events, and then once the day's events are done, help Crowe and Hobble to fill in the notes together.

Once you have access to the first commission, simply start by following the quest. It will lead you to the NPC you need to talk to. I would not recommend skipping the conversation, as it will highlight some words in orange that you might need later on.

After the conversation, you will obtain an item that will automatically detect the problem. Once the discussion is over, you get teleported to the proper location, and the item activates itself. You well then see "radar waves" somewhere on your screen. As you move around, the wave will move from top to left, to right, etc indicating you where to go. Head towards the wave. So for example, if the wave is on top of your screen, head towards the top of the zone, if it is on the right, head right, etc.

Follow it until you run into the cause of the problem you were investigating, and interact with it:

Once you are done, you get automatically teleported back to Crowe and you will have to fill the journal. Based on the details of the detective commission for the day, drag words into the blank spaces in the sentences to complete the Truth Journal. The journal entry is completed once you places all the words in the right spot.

This is basically where you need to remember the words that were highlighted in orange during the conversations. However, there is ZERO penalty if you fail, so you can also skip everything, and simply try your luck with each word.
