On this page, you will find the best melding choices and consumables, as well as the stat priority they are based on, for Beastmaster in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail (Patch 7.56).

Stat Priority, Materia Melding, and Consumables for Beastmaster

This section covers stat priority, materia melding, and consumables for Beastmaster. For full gearsets, refer to the Beastmaster Gear page.

2.

Beastmaster Stat Priority

Beastmaster is a melee DPS job and primarily scales with Strength. As with most melee jobs, the general stat priority is:

  1. Strength (main stat; always prioritize higher item level gear)
  2. Critical Hit
  3. Direct Hit Rate
  4. Determination
  5. Skill Speed (to comfort)

This priority is a general baseline. As the community explores Beastmaster's damage formula and the interaction between beast actions and personal actions, the optimal substat weightings may shift. This page will be updated as optimized sets are established.

3.

Beastmaster Materia Melding

Follow the stat priority above when melding materia. Prioritize Critical Hit and Direct Hit Rate melds on most pieces, then Determination. Meld Skill Speed only to reach a comfortable GCD tier for your ping and playstyle.

4.

Beastmaster Consumables

Use whichever potion provides the most Strength. This will be the highest grade Tincture of Strength available. The benefit from higher grades plateaus once your Strength is capped by the potion, so use the most cost-effective option that still caps your stat.

For food, choose items that boost your highest priority substats (Critical Hit and/or Direct Hit Rate). The Beastmaster Gear Page will list appropriate food alongside each gearset once sets are established.
