Lesser Pearl Spellstone Reveal: Kobolds & Catacombs

The Paladin Spellstone has been revealed and we finally know almost everything about it.

After the Mage Spellstone, it was time for the Paladin Spellstone to be revealed by Korean streamer sung0, who was joined by RenieHouR. The translated name of the card should be Lesser Pearl Spellstone, but it hasn't been officially confirmed.

Another translation of this card reads "Spirit" instead of "minion". It might be the case that the summoned token is an Elemental. This would be interesting since Paladin will get Benevolent Djinn in Kobolds & Catacombs, which is an Elemental that also has healing synergy. The "Restore 3 health" part is not clear, as well: it probably means to both your hero and your minions, but it should still be clarified.

The streamers weren't provided with the upgrades of the Spellstone, so again this is a mystery. There are two cases: a) it's either get one, two, three minions or b) the stats of said minion get upgraded. The former seems more likely.

There's still not enough information to properly review this card. Keep checking this thread for updates and we'll be sure to have the final details in our Kobolds and Catacombs hub as well.

UPDATE

According to French site JudgeHype, it looks like the token will get +2/+2 stats when the Spellstone is upgraded. So, the second stage is "Summon a 4/4 Spirit with Taunt" and the last stage is "Summon a 6/6 Spirit with Taunt". The card does indeed state "Spirit", instead of minion, but it turns out the Spirit is NOT an Elemental. The name of the card is almost certainly Lesser Pearl Spellstone, with an official confirmation on it still pending. The "Restore 3 health" condition applies to everything and can be done in multiple turns.

On its own, the Lesser Pearl Spellstone is a poor card since it basically summons a Frostwolf Grunt. The upgraded versions look much better, but that will depend on whether Healadin will become a viable deck or not.

Currently paladin is the only class which can really make use of the life steal and restore health mechanics, Wickerflame BurnbristleChillblade ChampionCorpsetaker and Truesilver Champion can make this viable. Blackguard could be a nice addition then :D. If the the card will read "Restore 3 health to upgrade" (no matter if it's hero or minion) then this can be upgraded easily. Even Benevolent Djinn might become useful doe to the synergy.

Even in the late game it's not that bad to put a 6/6 taunt on the board that only costs 2 mana. We will have to wait and see but it may turn out to be too unreliable.

/edit: Why do they announce and make card reveals but then they show wrong and/or uncertain stuff? Badly executed imo.

The "Restore 3 health" thing is confirmed, the upgrade will require that. We don't know WHO needs to have health restored: the face or the minions? I guess both, but it should still be clarified.

Yeah, it's a bit annoying they didn't provide the Korean streamers with an English name or the upgrade path. That Korean stream also happened when they were still sleeping at Blizzard HQ (4.00 am California time or something). Also, we still don't know the official name of the card, even though 99% it's "Pearl Spellstone". And tbh, I'm not even sure where Judgehype got that upgrade path from (perhaps the French official site or directly from the European Blizz HQ since it's in France? no idea).

Same thing with the newly revealed Mage secret. It's getting tiring having to report on these card reveals for me :D

Because it's in different languages for the different streamers and it's hard getting a translation, the execution for card reveals has been better than it's ever been before so don't look a gift horse in the mouth but I do understand and sympathize that it's irritating for a translation an hour later.

You are right but in a world where every gamer should be able (I know that is not the case and it's sad) to speak English, why not make all the official announced streams and reveals in English? Or at least in addition to the streams in different language make one global stream in English.

Not particularly, I just use it when it fits since I like the expression, although whenever it is used here, it's said as gift almost certainly where I live.

Even easier than that. You did the reveal already, have a website that wraps up all your reveals in whatever native blizzard server (and language) you already have. It's not like they don't have them in every language already written.

The single-player adventure, introduced along with the Rastakhan's Rumble expansion, is now available in all regions.
The Rumble Run is very similar to the Dungeon Run and the Monster Hunt, in the sense that you will face eight opponents and you will build your deck as you progress using card bundles, passives and powerful minions exclusive to this game mode.
Your hero will always be Rikkar, a young Troll champion eager to prove himself. In the beginning of your run, you will be offered three different Shrines (more on them in the next paragraph) from three different classes. This initial decision basically equals to you picking a Class for this run. The other eight classes will be your opponents.

Shrines exist as minions on the board and they have powerful effects. Each class has three different Shrines and each starting Shrine comes with a complementary deck of 10 minions that synergise with it. When a Shrine dies, it goes dormant for 3 turns and its effect isn't active until it comes back to life.
Subsequently, you will build your deck using card bundles, neutral passive abilities and class-specific minions exclusive to the Rumble Run.
If you finish the Rumble Run once with any class, you will earn this card back:

Good luck on this new adventure and we'll soon have a detailed guide on it!
