Subject 9 & Dr. Morrigan Reveals: The Boomsday Project

Recommended Posts

Two Legendary cards have been revealed simultaneously! Let's check them out!

Dr. Morrigan is the Warlock Legendary minion and was revealed by Surrender on Twitch.

This card bears similarities to Madam Goya and Malorne, two Legendaries that never really saw much play. Essentially, when she "dies", Dr. Morrigan goes back in your deck and Recruits one of your minions. This effect is way too slow for Warlock, even for Control or Cubelock. We'll probably see a meme clip of this card along with Baleful Banker (and perhaps Augmented Elekk), but from the Legendary class minions revealed so far from The Boomsday Project this looks by far the weakest.

According the reveal schedule, Subject 9 was supposed to be released later today. Chinese site Headline Games seemed to be in a rush to show us this card (and we don't mind at all!):

It's slightly disappointing that only 4 classes can benefit from a Neutral Legendary minion. And to be honest, from these 4 classes I only see Hunter using Subject 9. Mage has Arcanologist, Paladin doesn't really want to draw its Secrets and Rogue Secrets aren't played much. Still, Subject 9 is an Azure Drake on steroids and we've yet to see the Mage and Hunter Secrets from The Boomsday Project .

Let us know what you think about these cards in the comments section below!

Severely dissapointed by Dr. Morrigan. You'd have to make a deck entirely around high cost minions to even make sense with her, and even if you by some miracle aren't stomped to death before that happens, then what? You pay 8 mana for a minion that can be silenced, and at best just functions as a roll the dice between what you might have left?

I had hoped this set wouldn't have any troll legendaries, since they looked so good otherwise, but this card is. Hell, I'm going there and call this worse than the new Avaina we got last set.

What?! Lol. This minion doesn't benefit the opponent by any means like Dusk Fallen Aviana. Sure, it's a terrible and disappointing card but it can't be as bad as Duskfallen.

Only hunter, like you mentioned, can use this, but where exactly. However, only real hunter deck which utilizes secrets is spell hunters, and a minion apparently doesn't have a place there. So, that card might be useful is secret-mech hunter is a thing.

subject 9 is a good card, just dosent have a place in current decks ! its beast, stats arent that bad and if u can get some value from battlecry it would be great.

dr. morrigan is weak. if it was a hunter card or we could somehow activate deathrattle maybe it could see some play.

Worth mentioning that Subject 9 is a beast, and will therefore bring a lot of other benefits to Hunter in particular.

Subject 9 seems very strong to me. It might not fit into any existing decks that well, but seems to me it’s such a powerful effect there might be potential in building a deck around it.

Subject 9 seems like an amazing hunter card.  Might see play in mage, 5 mana 4/4 draw 2 is still REALLY good.  Morrigan seems weak, but not nearly as much as zerek or maybe even flark.  I don't think she will see play, but an effect that basically says "draw and play a card" is really strong.

Blizzard released the 17.2.2 client patch for Hearthstone to fix a bug related to the closed shop that occurred due to a missing runtime dependency.
      (Source)
We’re currently in the process of deploying a 17.2.2 client patch that will address the following items:
Fixed a bug that would cause a crash on mobile when clicking the eye to see who is spectating. Fixed a few various issues that would lock the game state when playing certain cards from hand. Fixed a bug where some players in Europe were only given the option of Warrior as their free deck after graduating the new player ranks. Fixed a bug where the shop would be closed when launching Hearthstone due to a missing runtime dependency. If the shop is still closed after updating to 17.2.2, try swapping to another region on the launcher and swapping back before opening Hearthstone again.
The incorrect Mana display bug for mobile users will be fixed in the next update.

A new blog post has been released, detailing a dozen card changes coming to the game on Monday 18th of May.
Shaman is getting some much needed help, since three of its cards will be buffed - although it is debatable if these buffs will be enough to move the class out of the bottom.
As far as the nerfs are concerned, two more Demon Hunter cards (who would have thought?) are getting toned down. Scavenger's Ingenuity, Shadowjeweler Hanar, Blackjack Stunner, Imprisoned Scrap Imp, Bloodboil Brute, Bloodsworn Mercenary are also getting tweaked.
Nerfed cards will be eligible for a refund until June 1st.
The patch also brings a bug fix for Ethereal Conjurer, which was causing the game to lock by not offering any Discover options.
Don't forget you can grab a free Nemsy until May 19, as part of Patch 17.2.0.
      Blizzard Entertainment
