Saviors of Uldum Card Reveal: Wild Bloodstinger and Scarlet Webweaver

Hunter's latest additions are two massive creepy-crawlies with powerful effects.

Two new Saviors of Uldum cards have been revealed via the PlayHearthstone Instagram story. This time, it's a pair of massive creepy-crawlies for Hunter: Wild Bloodstinger and Scarlet Webweaver.

Wild BloodstingerScarlet Webweaver

Wild Bloodstinger is slightly over-statted as a 6 Mana 6/9, but it will have to do battle with a Minion from your opponent's hand before you get to use those stats. This kind of effect has been seen occasionally before in Hearthstone: Dirty Rat was a much-loved (and much-hated) combo disruption card that denied many a Raza the Chained before they rotated to Wild together. Unseen Saboteur is a similar option in the current Standard card pool, but can be wildly inconsistent.

Scarlet Webweaver is pretty much a Dreampetal Florist for Beasts. You could play King Krush for 4 Mana and do some big damage. You could also play Tundra Rhino for 0 Mana and do some big damage. The possibilities are endless.

Taken together, these cards suggest Hunter might be playing with some bigger beasts than usual in Saviors of Uldum. This could be a nice change of pace after six months of messing around with Springpaw and various other 1/1s.

Check out our Saviors of Uldum hub for all the latest info on the new expansion, including every card revealed so far.

Lemon, you conspicuously didn't mention Hecklebot. Did one of its insults hit to close to home?

Hecklebot doesn't affect your opponent's hand! But you're right, that's another good example 😛

How I wish Wild Bloodstinger was a neutral.   Loved the hell out of Dirty Rat for its disruption potential, having it restricted to a (niche high cost/non mech) hunter deck makes me a sad cow.

This is a much stronger Dirty rat since it will very likely kill the minion it fights against preventing the opponent to use it in any way so it's good against a much wider range of cards unlike dirty rat that can lose games if it pulls something big... i remember having Deathwing when the rat was around and many times people dropped it at turn 2 on the board conceding instantly... this at least kills anything with 6 or less hp so is guaranteed to kill any 4 mana or lower (aside Doomsayer or Injuried Blademaster... yeah also Divine shield but aside Zilliax they see no play excluding some rare Al'Akir) plus a good number of 5-6 mana minions.

A lot of cards are played for battlecry or active effect and this card removes the problem completely by killing the card preventing the enemy from duplicating the minion or attacking your face with it in case was a Leeroy.

Hecklebot and Saboteur are plain horrible not only they are random but they have no real effect since they don't actually solve problems... they usually give you more problems unless you are incredibly lucky or you are a warrior so it doesn't matter what you do since Dr.Boom wins the game without require brain usage you can even deal 50 dmg to your face since usually doesn't matter thanks to how much balanced that card is... and I never saw a non-warrior use such cards since someone shoulda be pretty insane to use them considering the effects they can have.

Why does the myth of Dr Boom being OP persist?    Strong card, and warrior certainly is viable, but this is unquestionably a hunter meta right now, and Hunter generally wins pretty handily against warrior.

Blizzard released the 17.2.2 client patch for Hearthstone to fix a bug related to the closed shop that occurred due to a missing runtime dependency.
      (Source)
We’re currently in the process of deploying a 17.2.2 client patch that will address the following items:
Fixed a bug that would cause a crash on mobile when clicking the eye to see who is spectating. Fixed a few various issues that would lock the game state when playing certain cards from hand. Fixed a bug where some players in Europe were only given the option of Warrior as their free deck after graduating the new player ranks. Fixed a bug where the shop would be closed when launching Hearthstone due to a missing runtime dependency. If the shop is still closed after updating to 17.2.2, try swapping to another region on the launcher and swapping back before opening Hearthstone again.
The incorrect Mana display bug for mobile users will be fixed in the next update.

Any updates on when the incorrect mana bug for mobile players will be fixed?
Hey! This will be fixed in our next major update.

A new blog post has been released, detailing a dozen card changes coming to the game on Monday 18th of May.
Shaman is getting some much needed help, since three of its cards will be buffed - although it is debatable if these buffs will be enough to move the class out of the bottom.
As far as the nerfs are concerned, two more Demon Hunter cards (who would have thought?) are getting toned down. Scavenger's Ingenuity, Shadowjeweler Hanar, Blackjack Stunner, Imprisoned Scrap Imp, Bloodboil Brute, Bloodsworn Mercenary are also getting tweaked.
Nerfed cards will be eligible for a refund until June 1st.
The patch also brings a bug fix for Ethereal Conjurer, which was causing the game to lock by not offering any Discover options.
Don't forget you can grab a free Nemsy until May 19, as part of Patch 17.2.0.
