Phaethon Faction Guide For Zenless Zone Zero

One of the Factions you can find in Zenless Zone Zero is the Phaethon Faction!

The Phaethon Faction is basically the Faction that is directly related to your Proxy, so this faction is mostly composed of just Belle and Wise.

When you start the game you learn that Phaethon is the legendary Proxy identity created by siblings Belle and Wise in New Eridu. Most residents know them as the managers of Random Play, but they secretly operate as one of the city's most famous Proxy, known for an exceptionally high commission success rate and their unique ability to guide people through Hollows remotely.

Phaethon's reputation became so famous that many people believed it was a single legendary Proxy.

They use a H.D.D system, and AI Assistant called Fairy, and a Bangboo called Eous to navigate through the Hollows.

Belle and Wise also possess special ocular implants dating back to their time at Helios Academy. These implants allow them to synchronize with Eous through the H.D.D. System and experience the Hollow through their Bangboo's perspective. This is the foundation of Phaethon's unique operating method.

Using the H.D.D. System allows Phaethon to:

• Guide clients in real time
• Maintain communication inside Hollows
• Continuously update Hollow maps
• Gather new Hollow data safely
• Operate without physically entering dangerous areas

This revolutionary approach played a huge role in earning Phaethon its legendary status.

Before becoming Proxies, Belle and Wise studied at the prestigious Helios Academy. Their mentor was Carole Arna, one of the academy's most influential researchers. A few main story revelations connect Helios Academy to:

• The Hollow Deep Dive (H.D.D.) System
• Advanced Hollow research
• Ancient technology discovered inside Hollows
• The events surrounding Hollow Zero

Carole Arna's name repeatedly appears throughout the game's lore, and she is heavily connected to the mysteries of the main story.

During the Prologue, the original Phaethon Inter-Knot account is compromised by White Noise. As a result, Public Security becomes involved, Belle and Wise lose access to their account, and much of their collected Hollow data is lost. Continuing to use the account could lead to arrest so this basically ends the original "Phaethon" account.

However, their reputation survives. Long-time contacts such as Shepherd still know who they are, allowing the siblings to rebuild from scratch.

Fairy is basically the best AI Assistant you can get. She appears for the first time during Chapter 1 and is one of the advanced AIs connected to the mysteries of Zenless Zone Zero.

After joining Belle and Wise, she becomes an important asset thanks to her ability to access and process vast amounts of information across New Eridu. Fairy is highly intelligent, sarcastic, and often a pain for the sibling you are not playing, since she loves to put herself first, and often bullies sibling number 2 for being "less efficient".

She also frequently reminds the siblings that her services come with a costs... usually in the form of a massive electricity bill.

Eous is your best friend, your primary Bangboo Partner. Designed as Bangboo No. 01, among the many Bangboo owned by Belle and Wise, Eous is special.

Eous serves as:

• Phaethon's Hollow avatar
• The primary target of H.D.D. synchronization
• Their eyes and ears inside Hollows

Without Eous, Phaethon's unique operating style would not be possible.

Unlike every other faction in New Eridu, Phaethon is built around information, technology, and navigation rather than combat strength. These advantages allow them to accomplish missions that many other Proxies would consider impossible.

The name Phaethon also comes from Greek mythology, where Phaethon was the son of the sun god Helios. This creates a direct thematic connection between the faction and Helios Academy.

Most of the Phaethon faction members are non-playable characters. You have Belle, Wise, Fairy, Eous, and the only playable member is Pyrois.

Depending on your chosen protagonist, one sibling takes the lead and the other acts in a supporting role.

Pyrois is the first playable Agent joining Phaethon with Version 3.0. It appears to be directly connected to Belle and Wise and Helios Academy.

For now, we do not know the exact nature of Pyrois. Many clues suggest Pyrois is not simply another faction member, but rather a new form, transformation, or manifestation connected directly to Belle and Wise.

Until Season 3's story is fully released, this remains speculation.
