Seed Guide and Best Builds
Seed Guide & Best Builds
Welcome to our Seed build guide for Zenless Zone Zero. Seed is an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent that buffs another Attack Agent acting as her Vanguard. In our guide, we will cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Seed, from building the best Drive Discs and W-Engines to important stat priorities and combos.
Seed's Best W-Engines
Listed below are Seed's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, the best option for your Seed can vary slightly depending on your team composition.
Cordis Germina
Increases CRIT Rate by 15/17/19/21/23%. When the equipper deals DMG with a Basic Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's Electric DMG by 12.5/14.5/16.5/18.5/20%, up to 2 stacks. Each stack lasts 40s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. Can trigger once per use of a skill. At 2 stacks, the wearer's Basic Attack and Ultimate DMG ignore 20/23/26/29/32% of enemy DEF.
Heartstring Nocturne
CRIT DMG increases by 50/57.5/65/72.5/80%. When the equipper enters combat, or activates a Chain Attack or Ultimate, they gain 1 stack of Heartstring. Each stack of Heartstring allows the equipper's Chain Attack and Ultimate to ignore 12.5/14.5/16.5/18.5/20% of the target's Fire RES, stacking up to 2 times and lasting 30s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.
Severed Innocence
CRIT DMG is increased by 30/34.5/39/43.5/48%. When the equipper lands a hit with a Basic Attack, Special Attack, or Aftershock, they gain 1 stack of a buff. Each stack increases the equipper's CRIT DMG by an additional 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%, stacking up to 3 times. The effect lasts for 30s, with each stack's duration calculated separately, and can only be triggered once per use of a skill. With all 3 stacks, the equipper's Electric DMG increases by 20/23/26/29/32%.

Best Drive Discs for Seed

- Woodpecker Electro
- Branch & Blade Song
Seed's Stat Priority
When building Seed, CRIT is her most important stat, and after that you can aim for ATK % before going into flat PEN and ATK.
Seed's Skill Priority
Seed's most important skills to level are her Core Skill and Basic Attack.
How to Play Seed
As mentioned previously, Seed is an Attack Agent that buffs another Attack Agent. Her mechanics are centered around her Vanguard. The Attack Agent she buffs becomes her Vanguard, and when her Vanguard consumes energy, or when Seed attacks, she generates her Steel Charge resource that she can then use for Falling Petal Strikes.
The Vanguard
The Vanguard is basically Seed's "partner." It is part of her Additional Ability: The Vanguard, and it must be another Attack Agent in her squad. Having a Vanguard increases Seed's Basic and Ultimate DMG by 30% and ignores 25% RES. The Vanguard will also help Seed recharge her Steel Charge.
Additionally, when the Vanguard or Seed uses an EX Special Attack, they both gain Onslaught. When in this state, they obtain a 1000 ATK bonus, 30% CRIT DMG, and all their DMG dealt is also increased by 30%. This forces you to play with a Vanguard if you want to maximise DMG. If you want to keep this buff up at all times, you need to use an EX Special from Seed or the Vanguard once every 40 seconds.
Seed will also generate energy for her Vanguard as she attacks.
Seed's Steel Charge
Seed's Steel Charge can go up to a maximum of 150. When she reaches 120, you can execute the following combo, dealing massive damage:
- Reach 120 Steel Charge after a Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Slaughter or Ultimate: Clockwork Garden - Bloom!
- Press or hold to consume 60 Steel Charge and unleash Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall First Form
- Then she will automatically consume another 60 Steel Charge to follow up with Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall Second Form.
This combo is basically an enhanced Basic Attack. All you need to remember is that when you reach 120 Steel Charge, use your Basic Attack to consume 60 Steel Charge and release the enhanced Basic Attack combo.
The attacks that generate the most Steel Charge are Basic Attack, Ultimate, EX Special, Chain Attack, and Dodge Counter. When the Vanguard consumes energy, it generates 0.5 Steel Charge per 1 energy consumed.
Seed's Rotation
The best rotations for Seed, to use her enhanced Basic Attack every rotation, are:
- 4 Basic Attack x2 + EX Special Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- 4 Basic Attack + EX Special Attack + Vanguard EX Special Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- EX Special Attack + Ultimate = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- Dodge Counters + EX Special Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- 4 Basic Attacks + Chain Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
Just remember that the goal is to generate Steel Charge, and use it directly when you have 120. The rest is mostly automatic after you use your Enhanced Basic Attack.
Seed's Best Mindscapes
Seed's first Mindscape is a nice quality-of-life addition, as it reduces the Steel Charge needed to 100, and grants additional Steel Charge directly when Seed enters the battlefield. This way, you can immediately use her enhanced Basic Attack at the start. The highest recommended breakpoint is M2. The rest of her Mindscapes are okay, but not really worth the investment, especially since her W-Engine is more important
