Seed Strengths and Weaknesses
While Seed's Additional Ability limits her team options, there is also plenty of Attack Agents you could play with her.
Currently the strongest Electric Attack Agent.
Great for players who want to play double-attack meta.
Allows you to utilise older Attack Agents that you may not play any more.
Has only one additional ability activation condition, limiting team possibilities.
Energy generation issues since you will not really play the other Attack Agent, which will generate less decibels than they usually do.
Requires her S-Rank signature W-Engine to reach proper amount of CRIT Rate.
Seed Best Builds, W-Engines and Drive Discs
Seed's best build is as an Attack DPS. She is focused around buffing herself alongside another Attack Agent.

Seed's best W-Engine for this build is her signature Cordis Germina. Her W-Engine is significantly better for her than any other Engine. This is because it gives her a lot of CRIT Rate that she needs, which you will not get from anywhere else. After this, The Brimstone is your next best build option, as you should be able to maintain its stacks up with Seed.
Build Seed with the Drive Disc Set Dawn's Bloom which is tailored specifically for Seed. It grants her a massive basic Attack DMG bonus. Your 2-piece options are mainly any set that grants you CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG, depending on what you are missing. We highly recommend CRIT Rate if you do not have Seed's Signature W-Engine.
How to Play Seed
As mentioned previously, Seed is an Attack agent that buffs another Attack Agent. Her mechanics are centered around her Vanguard. The Attack Agent she buffs becomes her Vanguard, and when her Vanguard consumes energy, or when Seed Attacks, she generates her Steel Charge resource, that she can then use for Falling Petal Strikes.
The Vanguard
The Vanguard is basically Seed's "Partner". It is part of her Additional Ability: The Vanguard and is another Attack Agent in her Squad. Having a Vanguard increases Seed's Basic and Ultimate by 30% DMG and ignores 25% RES. The Vanguard will also help Seed recharge her Steel Charge.
Additionally, when the Vanguard or Seed use an Ex Special Attack, they both gain Onslaught. When in this state, they obtain a 1000 ATK bonus, 30% CRIT DMG, and all their DMG dealt is also increased by 30%. This forces you to play with a Vanguard, if you want to maximise DMG. If you want to maintain this buff up at all time, you need to use an Ex Special from Seed or the Vanguard once every 40 seconds.
Seed will also generate energy for her Vanguard as she attacks.
Seed's Steel Charge
Seed's Steel Charge can go up to 150 Max energy. When she reaches 120, you can execute the following combo, dealing massive damage:
- Reach 120 Steel Charge after a Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Slaughter or Ultimate: Clockwork Garden - Bloom!
- Press or hold to consume 60 Steel Charge and unleash Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall First Form
- Then she will automatically consume another 60 Steel Charge to follow up with Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall Second Form.
This combo is basically an enhanced Basic Attack. All you need to remember, is that when you reach 120 Steel Charge, use your Basic Attack to consume 60 Charge and release the enhanced Basic Attack combo!
The attacks that generate the most Steel Charge are Basic Attack, Ultimate, Ex Special, Chain, and Dodge Counter. When the Vanguard consumes energy it generates 0.5 Steel Charge per one energy consumed.
The best rotation for Seed in order to use her Basic Enhanced attack each rotation is:
- 4 Basic Attack x2 + Ex Special Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- 4 Basic Attack + Ex Special Attack + Vangard Ex Special Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- Ex Special Attack + Ultimate = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- Dodge Counters + Ex Special Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
- 4 basic Attack + Chian Attack = Chain into the Enhanced Basic Attack
Just remember that the goal is to generate Steel Charge, and use it directly when you have 120 charge. The rest is mostly automatic after you use your Enhanced Basic Attack.
Bangboo Information
Seed's faction-specific Bangboo is Mercury. If you get this Bangboo to Rank 3,
you only need one Obol Squad member to trigger its ability.
However, as always, your best bet is going for Bangboo that go with other team members,
or more supportive Bangboo such as Snap.
Seed Team Comps and Synergy
Seed's best teams primarily revolve around having another Attack Agent in the Squad. This is an important requirement, as otherwise you lose a lot of damage.
Seed's Best Teams
Seed | Attack Agent | Support | Bangboo |
---|---|---|---|
Seed | Orphie & Magus | Astra Yao | Mercury |
Orphie & Magus is the best Attack Agent you can pair with Seed. She does the most damage as Seed's Vanguard, and grants another buff to Seed as well. Astra Yao or Trigger are the two best options as support or stun for the third slot.
Alternative Seed Teams
Seed | Attack Agent | Support | Bangboo |
---|---|---|---|
Seed | Soldier 0 - Anby | Trigger | Mercury |
Seed | Billy Kid | Astra Yao | Snap |
Seed | Anton Ivanov | Astra Yao | Snap |
Seed | Nekomiya Mana | Astra Yao | Snap |
Seed | Asaba Harumasa | Astra Yao | Snap |
You can mostly use any Attack Agent that you want, as long as they can be swapped in to use an Ex Special when needed. Your last slot will either be Astra Yao or Trigger. Qingyi can be another option is your Astra or Trigger are already busy, and Nicole Demara is always a great free-to-play support if needed!

Core Passive: Flower Chain Protocol |
The Attack teammate with the highest Base ATK is considered Seed's Vanguard. When the Vanguard unleashes an EX Special Attack, Seed gains Onslaught status, increasing Seed's ATK by 100 and CRIT DMG by 15%. When Seed unleashes an EX Special Attack, the Vanguard gains Direct Strike status, increasing the Vanguard's ATK by 100 and CRIT DMG by 15%. When Direct Strike and Onslaught are both active, Seed and the Vanguard simultaneously gain Besiege status, increasing DMG dealt by 12.5%. Onslaught, Direct Strike, and Besiege buffs can all take effect when the character is the current active character. When switching to inactive, the buffs remain until the character goes off-field or 3s after the switch. When the character returns to being the active character, the buffs re-activate. Upon entering the battlefield, Seed immediately gains Onslaught status and Besiege status, while the Vanguard immediately gains Direct Strike status and Besiege status. Direct Strike and Onslaught status last for 40s, and repeated triggers refresh the duration. When the Vanguard consumes Energy as the active character or when Seed consumes Energy, for every 1 point of Energy consumed, Seed recovers 0.5 points of Steel Charge. |
Additional Ability: Surprise Strike |
When another Attack Character is in your squad: When Seed deals DMG as the active character, restore 2 Energy to the Vanguard. This effect can trigger once every 1s. Seed's Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Slaughter, Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall, and Ultimate: Clockwork Garden - Bloom! deal 30% increased DMG and ignore 25% of enemy Electric RES. |
Seed's Mindscapes
Seed's first Mindscape is a nice quality-of-life addition as it reduced the Steel Charge needed to 100, and grant additional Steel Charge directly when Seed enters the battlefield. This way you can directly do her enhanced Basic Attack at the start. The max you should go is M2. The rest of her Mindscapes are okay, but not that worth the investment, especially since her W-Engine is kind of required.
# | Mindscape | Description |
---|---|---|
M1 | "Hibernation Period" | When Seed's Steel Charge reaches 100, Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall can be activated and total Steel Charge consumption is reduced to 100; Gain an additional 40/20 Steel Charge when entering the battlefield/using Ultimate; Increases Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Downfall CRIT DMG by 30%. |
M2 | "Light Absorption Technique" | When Besiege is active for an Agent, that Agent's DMG ignores 20% of DEF; When activating EX Special Attack: Raining Iron Petals, after consuming a total of 60 Energy, you can continue consuming Energy to extend the duration of the skill until the button is released or a total of 120 Energy is consumed; For every 5 Energy consumed by EX Special Attack: Raining Iron Petals, the following Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Slaughter's DMG increases by 5%. |
M3 | "A Story of Sprouting" | Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2. |
M4 | "Fragrant Tune" | When Seed's Besiege buff is active, Decibel Generation Rate increases by 10%, and Ultimate DMG increases by 20%. |
M5 | "Time to Bloom" | Basic Attack, Dodge, Assist, Special Attack, and Chain Attack Lv. +2 |
M6 | "Theory of the Heart" |
Seed's CRIT DMG increases by 50%. When using Basic Attack: Falling Petals - Slaughter, fires 3 additional laser beams, each dealing 165% of ATK as DMG. This effect can trigger once every 3s. |
