Seth Lowell Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Seth Lowell build guide for Zenless Zone Zero. Seth Lowell is an A-Rank Electric Defense Agent who provides Anomaly buffs and shields for one squad member, and can reduce an enemy's Anomaly Buildup Resistance. In our guide, we will cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Seth Lowell, from building the best Drive Discs and W-Engines to important stat priorities and combos.

Seth Lowell's Best W-Engines

Listed below are Seth Lowell's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, the best option for your Seth Lowell can vary slightly depending on your team composition.

Peacekeeper - Specialized
Standard Blocking Technique
While Shielded, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.4/0.46/0.52/0.58/0.64/s. The Anomaly Buildup of EX Special Attacks and Assist Follow-Ups increase by 36/40/45/50/55%.
Seth Lowell's signature W-Engine is his best choice. This W-Engine has 25% ATK and 624 Base ATK, both ideal stats for Seth. It also increases his Energy Regen while shielded, and increases the Anomaly Buildup of EX Special Attacks and Assist Follow-Ups by 36%, making it the best W-Engine for Seth by far.
Tusks of Fury
Invincible Rider
The Shield value provided by the equipper increases by 30/38/46/52/60%. When any squad member triggers Interrupt or Perfect Dodge, all squad members' DMG increases by 18/22.5/27/31.5/36% and Daze dealt increases by 12/15/18/21/24% for 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Caesar King's signature W-Engine is an alternative if you are okay with giving up some ATK on Seth in exchange for additional DMG and Daze for the whole squad.
Spring Embrace
Hot Spring Soup
Reduces DMG taken by 7.5/8.5/9.5/10.5/12%. When attacked, the equipper's Energy Generation Rate increases by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s. When the equipper switches off-field, this buff will be transferred to the new on-field character with its duration refreshed. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Tremor Trigram Vessel
Meridian Mapping
The equipper's EX Special Attack and Ultimate DMG increases by 25/28.7/32.5/36.2/40%. Whenever any squad member takes DMG or recovers HP, the equipper gains 2/2.3/2.6/2.9/3.2 Energy. This effect can trigger once every 5s.
Bunny Band
Pet the Bunny
Increases Max HP by 8/9.2/10.4/11.6/12.8%. Increases the equipper's ATK by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% when they are shielded.

Best Drive Discs for Seth Lowell

Bunny in Wonderland
2-Piece Set: HP +10%
4-Piece Set: [Defense] When equipped by a character: When the equipper activates an [EX Special Attack] or any squad member activates a [Defensive Assist] or [Evasive Assist], DMG dealt by all squad members increases by 6%, stacking up to 3 times and lasting 25s. Stacks decay one layer at a time. Duration is refreshed when gaining or losing stacks. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Bunny in Wonderland is one of the best options for Defense Agents like Seth. While he does not necessarily need the HP% from the 2-piece, this set will provide the whole squad with a 6% DMG increase that can stack up to 3 times.

2-Piece Recommendations include:

  • Astral Voice
  • Proto Punk
  • Swing Jazz
Astral Voice is the most recommended 2-piece option for Seth's build because of the additional ATK buff, but you can also use Proto Punk for the Shield effect bonus, or Swing Jazz for additional Energy Regen.
Astral Voice
2-Piece Set: ATK +10%
4-Piece Set: Whenever any squad member enters the field using a Quick Assist, all squad members gain 1 stack of Astral, up to a maximum of 3 stacks, and lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Each stack of Astral increases the DMG dealt by the character entering the field using a Quick Assist by 8%. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Astral Voice is another very good option if you do not want to farm for Bunny in Wonderland. It provides ATK and buffs all squad members with increased DMG.

2-Piece Recommendations include:

  • Hormone Punk
  • Swing Jazz
  • Proto Punk
Hormone Punk is a good 2-piece option for Seth's build because of the additional ATK buff as well, but you can also use Proto Punk for the Shield effect bonus, or Swing Jazz for additional Energy Regen.
Proto Punk
2-Piece Set: Increases Shield effect by 15%.
4-Piece Set: When any squad member triggers a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist, all squad members deal 15% increased DMG, lasting 10s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
Seth Lowell can be built with Proto Punk as this set is specifically made for shielders. It increases his shield's effect by 15% and provides the whole squad with increased DMG. However, it does require you to often trigger Defensive or Evasive assists.

2-Piece Recommendations include:

  • Swing Jazz
  • Hormone Punk
  • Astral Voice
These options are all very good 2-piece choices for Seth Lowell's build.

Seth Lowell's Stat Priority

Disc 4: ATK %
Disc 5: ATK % / Electric DMG %
Disc 6: ATK % / Energy Regen
Substats: ATK % > Anomaly Proficiency > ATK > PEN

When building Seth Lowell, ATK is the most important stat to focus on because his Shield scales with his ATK. The more ATK you build on Seth, the higher the Anomaly Proficiency buff his shield provides to his teammate will be.

Seth Lowell's Skill Priority

Skill Priority: > > > > >

Seth Lowell's most important skills to level are his Core Skill, Assist, and Special.

How to Play Seth Lowell

Seth Lowell is a defensive support who specializes in shielding allies and increasing Anomaly damage. His gameplay revolves around building Resolve through EX Special Attack, Chain Attack, or Ultimate, then consuming it with his enhanced Basic Attack to trigger Quick Assist and bring a teammate back on-field.

When Seth uses his enhanced Basic Attack, he applies a Shield of Firm Resolve to the incoming ally, increasing their Anomaly Proficiency and improving their damage potential.

When his Additional Ability is active, Seth can also reduce enemies' Anomaly Buildup RES, allowing the team to trigger status effects more quickly as well.

Seth is most effective when played in short rotations: generate Resolve, use his enhanced Basic Attack to hand off to the main DPS, then swap out while maintaining shield uptime.

  • Swap Seth in
  • Use EX Special → gain 75% Resolve + self-shield
  • Hold Basic
  • Finisher triggers Quick Assist → sends your DPS in
  • DPS benefits from:
    • Shield
    • Anomaly buffs
    • Possible RES shred
  • Repeat to refresh buffs regularly

Seth Lowell's Best Mindscapes

Seth's first Mindscape is definitely worth getting as it increases the efficiency of the Shield he provides, as well as a boost to the Anomaly Proficiency provided by his Core Passive. His M2 is interesting if you are looking for more Electric Anomaly Buildup, and his M6 is interesting if you manage to get it, as it provides guaranteed CRIT Rate and increased CRIT DMG, but it is not absolutely needed.
