Gear Progression Guide for DoH and DoL in FFXIV Dawntrail Patch 7.4
This guide provides information on how to progress at level 100 in DoH and DoL classes so that you can grab the best gear at level 100 in Dawntrail.
Crafting and Gathering Endgame Gearing Guide
This guide is focused on helping players catch up on their crafting and gathering gear for endgame content of Final Fantasy XIV as a fresh new level 100 player so that they can get to the latest endgame gear.
When is New Crafting & Gathering Gear Added in Dawntrail?
It is useful to know when new gear is added and therefore when you would upgrade your current gear. The following is based on trends with the last few expansions:
- 7.1 - Crafted left side gear
- 7.2 - Scrip gear
- 7.3 - Crafted full set (Final set for Dawntrail)
- 7.4 - Scrip gear
- 7.5 - Nothing
Scrip gear generally acts as "Catch-up" gear or for budgeted sets and is added along raid while crafted gear is added before raid giving you time to stockpile materia and meld the gear before it is needed.
How to Catch Up to the Current DoH DoL Endgame Gear
Listed below is an overview of how exactly you can catch up to the current DoH DoL endgame from a fresh level 100 player:
- Use level 90 gear to farm Orange Scrips Gear.
- Optional: Use Orange Scrip Gear to craft i750 Crafted Gear and Meld i750 Gear.
- Enjoy new gear.

Click the buttons below to see how best to catch up to the current endgame on Crafting or Gathering classes!
Crafting Gear Progression
To start off upgrading your gear we need to establish a baseline. You want at least Lv90 Scrip gear however anything higher works too! For example the gearset below from our leveling guide if you have come from that page.
Obtaining Orange Scrip Gear
Once you have the set above, we need to farm Orange Scrips for i750 gear! This is a full set and can be used for everything in the game making it either the perfect stopping point in general, or a good set to craft i750 crafted gear with.
Use the below rotation to easily farm Orange Scrips. The best Orange Scrip
craft to farm is
Rarefied Tacos de Carne Asada due to having incredibly
easy HQ pre-crafts which you generally want.
The below macro requires all HQ materials:
Stat Requirements:3782/3395/542, foodless +2 HQ Materials
Click Here for a 0 HQ Material Rotation!
If you do not have any HQ materials you can use the following rotation to hit Tier 2 collectability but not Tier 3:
Stat Requirements:3785/3438/543 + HQ
Rroneek Steak (635 CP After Buffs)
Once enough scrips have been farmed to make 11,400 Orange Scrips for everything on all classes, or 4,440 for a single class you then want to meld it according to the set below.
This is also our current endgame budget set and capable of crafting everything in the game currently so would be our recommended option for a player coming into the DoH DoL endgame so late into the expansion.
What's Next?
Congratulations! You are now caught up to the crafting endgame. You can now craft anything available in the game, some things to check out would be the Cosmic Tool relics, crafting current endgame gear using our provided rotations or if you find that your crafting could do with faster macros, our endgame melds guide for i750 crafted meldsets.
Gathering Gear Progression
Gathering classes should have at least the following gear as a minimum to be able to start catching up to the current endgame. This is simply Lv90 scrip gear however stats higher than this is fine too.
From here, all we need to do is farm Orange Scrips! Your stats from Lv90 Scrip Gear is more than enough to do this. Use this teamcraft alarm list of Orange Scrip nodes.
Orange Scrip Farming Rotation
Use the following rotation to get the most out of your Orange Scrip Nodes:
Once you have enough Orange Scrips to be able to wear gear, aim for the following meldset. This gives you enough perception to be able to gather everything in the game.
What's Next?
Once you have your full set of Orange Scrip gear, you have 2 choices:
- Keep using the scrip gear. This is good enough for endgame and can gather everything you need for crafting.
- Gather materials to craft the i750 craftable gear for gathering and meld it. This is recommended if you plan to gather extremely often or do the hardest Cosmic Exploration missions.
