Gear Progression Guide for DoH and DoL in FFXIV Dawntrail Patch 7.3
This guide provides information on how to progress at level 100 in DoH and DoL classes so that you can grab the best gear at level 100 in Dawntrail.
Crafting and Gathering Endgame Gearing Guide
This guide is focused on helping players catch up on their crafting and gathering gear for endgame content of Final Fantasy XIV as a fresh new level 100 player so that they can get to the latest endgame gear.
When is New Crafting & Gathering Gear Added in Dawntrail?
It is useful to know when new gear is added and therefore when you would upgrade your current gear. The following is based on trends with the last few expansions:
- 7.1 - Crafted left side gear
- 7.2 - Scrip gear
- 7.3 - Crafted full set (Final set for Dawntrail)
- 7.4 - Scrip gear
- 7.5 - Nothing
Scrip gear generally acts as "Catch-up" gear or for budgeted sets and is added along raid while crafted gear is added before raid giving you time to stockpile materia and meld the gear before it is needed.
How to Catch Up to the Current DoH DoL Endgame Gear
Listed below is an overview of how exactly you can catch up to the current DoH DoL endgame from a fresh level 100 player:
- Use level 90 gear to farm Orange Scrips Gear.
- Use Orange Scrip Gear to craft i750 Crafted Gear.
- Meld i750 Gear.
- Enjoy new gear.

Crafting Gear Progression
To start off upgrading your gear we need to establish a baseline. You want at least Lv90 Scrip gear however anything higher works too! For example the gearset below from our leveling guide if you have come from that page.
This is the gear we will then use to craft our i690 accessories so that we have the starts to farm Orange Scrips consistently.
Crafting i690 Gear
To begin, you want to craft the i690 accessories and nothing else. This is because you need the accessories for the stats to be able to craft the current i750 endgame meldset so you may as well start with them as they also increase your stats for scrip farming. The left side will not be needed as we can instead use scrip. There is no scrip right side making these accessories mandatory.
As these crafts are Lv100, they all require 3 HQ materials using the recommended gearset. If you have higher stats you can use less HQ materials but make sure to check in trial synth first.
Stat Requirements: 3782/X/543 + HQ Tsai tou Vounou and HQ
Cunning Craftsman's Draught (642 CP After Buffs)
Because you cannot 0-100 the lv100 crafts, the control requirements depend on how many HQ materials you use which will be common for endgame. I recommend using trial synth or a simulator to check how many you may need but the amount of HQ materials required depends on the item and youe stats.
Once completed, equip your new accessories and you should have the following meldset:
Obtaining Orange Scrip Gear
Once you have the set above, we need to farm Orange Scrips for that gear! The Orange Scrip gear is only a left side + offhand but will be the starting foundations for our real endgame set.
Use the below rotation to easily farm Orange Scrips. The best Orange Scrip
craft to farm is Rarefied Tacos de Carne Asada due to having incredibly
easy HQ pre-crafts which you generally want.
The below macro requires all HQ materials:
Stat Requirements:3820/3174/500 + NQ Tsai tou Vounou (562 CP After Buffs) +2 HQ Materials
Click Here for a 0 HQ Material Rotation!
If you do not have any HQ materials you can use the following rotation:
Stat Requirements:3820/3498/526 + HQ Rroneek Steak (618 CP After Buffs)
Once enough scrips have been farmed to make 10,100 Orange Scrips for everything on all classes, or 3,100 for a single class you then want to meld it according to the set below.
This is also our current endgame budget set and capable of crafting everything in the game currently. If you simply wanted a budget meld set, you do not need to upgrade your gear further until patch 7.4's scrip gear. If you want to use the new best i750 crafted meldsets, this gear is then used to craft those.
Crafting i750 Endgame Gear
Now you have your Orange Scrip gear, you now have the stats to be able to craft the current endgame gear which is i750. This requires 3 different macros for different materials and items, one for making the i740 materials, one for the i750 materials and then one to make the i750 gear.
Because of this, each has been placed inside a dropdown to avoid confusion with different macros.
i740 35 Durability Macro
This is a 3-Star macro for the 35 Durability crafts for i740 materials. To even hit the minimum stats to begin the craft, food does need to be used.
Stat Requirements: 5257/4650/616 + Ceviche HQ. 712 CP Required After Buffs.
i750 35 Durability Macro
Listed below is our low-star making the new 35 durability intermediate materials (Craftsman's Tri-solution & Desert Lapis). For materials for older intermediate materials. Please check out the other dropdown above.
Stat Requirements: 5256/4650/609 + Ceviche HQ. 705 CP Required After Buffs.
i750 70 Durability Macro to make the gear
Stat Requirements: 5181/X/615 + Ceviche HQ +
Cunning Craftsman's Tisane HQ. 738 CP Required After Buffs.
This rotations requires 6667 Starting quality with the Budget set (4667 control) this is worth:
- Chest/Legs: 8 i740/750 Materials
- Head/Gloves/Feet/Tools: 6 i740/750 Materials
- Accessories: 4 i740/750 Materials
What's Next?
Congratulations! You are now caught up to the crafting endgame. The main decision now is what meldset to go with depending on your goals and what you want to use crafting for. Check out our meld guide below for the best endgame meldsets.
Gathering Gear Progression
Gathering classes should have at least the following gear as a minimum to be able to start catching up to the current endgame. This is simply Lv90 scrip gear however stats higher than this is fine too.
From here, all we need to do is farm Orange Scrips! Your stats from Lv90 Scrip Gear is more than enough to do this. Use this teamcraft alarm list of Orange Scrip nodes.
Orange Scrip Farming Rotation
Use the following rotation to get the most out of your Orange Scrip Nodes:
Once you have enough Orange Scrips to be able to wear gear, aim for the following meldset. This gives you enough perception to be able to gather the current materials for i750 gathering gear.
You can now use this gear to gather everything currently in the game!
What's Next?
Once you have your full set of Orange Scrip gear, you have 2 choices:
- Keep using the scrip gear. This is good enough for endgame and then upgrade to the next Scrip set in patch 7.4.
- Gather materials to craft the i750 craftable gear for gathering and meld it. This is recommended if you plan to gather often or do the hardest Cosmic Exploration missions.
