Midrange Malygos Druid Karazhan Standard

After some time, I really wanted to play this deck, as it seems the only deck which could be close to MR Shaman. I am using Xixo's version, found in tempostorm. 

I am terrible!!!

MR Shaman and Zoos all over the place and it could be normal that I lose to them, but warriors, rogues, mages ... 

Now it does feel like every single player who has random 30 cards can beat me with it.

Anyone here knows what to do with this deck and explain it to me?

It's a surprisingly difficult deck to play for something that is so powerful. Value is key, especially with Fandral. Knowing when to drop him, baiting removal prior to doing so, can be a huge swing for you. If you manage to get a Fandral/Nourish turn, you're in a very good spot.

It's also extremely important to assess when the right time is to use removal. With so many spells, you'd expect to be able to just remove as you wish. Mana efficiency is super important and you need to make sure you're pushing into your combo ASAP. I'm not surprised you lose to Warrior at all, though.

Can you throw up a replay of a normal game for you?

Regarding Control warriors, you need to recognise your win condition. You do not win against cw with the Malygos combo, you win through minion pressure. This is maybe the only matchup where you will find yourself using Raven Idol for a minion.

For sure, but it is undoubtedly one of the harder matchups for the deck. Warrior was by far my weakest win rate when climbing with this deck the last 2 seasons. In the video you linked, it's also fair to say that it's an exceptional example - he drew incredibly well that game, with tons of early card draw, healing, removal, the only big minions that can't be removed easily - if that happened every game it would be very easy to beat Warrior. The dead cards in the matchup didn't appear in his hand at all.

Indeed, i didn't say that the matchup is easy, i just pointed out that if you have a chance at all to win, you have to do it thought minion pressure. Even though he drew well in the video, it showcases the minion pressure strategy pretty well imo.

Fair enough, that's true, it does show a good gameplan to follow.

@FanOfValeeraIn the first game you could have guessed from Loot Hoarder that the paladin was control. That means you could have hero powered to clear the Loot Hoarder instead of innervating Emperor Thaurissan to discount only 3 card, only one of which was a combo piece. Sadly I did not see what you were offered in the discover from Raven Idol. Do you think you could recall what you were offered? Using Moonfire to clear is extremely inefficient - you could have left the Bluegill Warrior on board for one more turn to clear him with hero power the following turn. Agin, on the second Raven Idol I did not see the selection. If you were offered Moonfire or Living Roots you missed lethal by using Moonfire earlier.

In the second game you could have played Fandral Staghelm and used Living Roots on the totem. This way you would have gained some board. Swipe on Acidic Swamp Ooze and hero power on Wrath of Air Totem would have been possibly better. From then, the game would have looked much differently. 

What this means is: be more greedy about you combo. Try to get board presence against decks that have to deal with you minions.

Game 1:

  • Why pass Turn 1? You have two viable plays, both of which work. Paladin has plenty of early minions to trade into, regardless of the style being played. Loot Hoarder (as he played), Bluegill, the 2/1 shield minion, Argent Squire, etc. You could have used either Raven Idol or Living Roots. I would have summoned 2 1/1s.
  • Innervate Thaurssian didn't change anything for you. You still played Nourish on turn 5 and basically wasted 1 mana on that turn. I would have, at that point, played Innervate -> Nourish -> Raven Idol.
  • Vs. Paladin, you know that their main board clear vs. big mobs is Equality + Cons. Clearing the Acolyte wasn't necessary, given that you knew a board clear needed to happen in the future (Arcane in hand).
  • I would have simply left the Acolyte alone, forced him to clear his own card and used Feral to heal. This is especially important since you knew you were facing the Murloc combo, so you needed to bring yourself out of combo range.

Game 2:

  • As positiv says, that clear with Swipe simply wasn't necessary. Staghelm into roots would have been much better. 

General Points:

  • You are way too happy to use Moonfire to clear. I understand that sometimes it is required, yes, but to clear 3 damage off the board? Definitely not.

      Blizzard have announced that the next update will contain big changes to the way Arena works.
      The newly announced changes will come into force at the same time as the nerfs to Small-Time Buccaneer and Spirit Claws, which we discussed previously.
      The most important change will be that Arena will change from Wild format to Standard. This will help to keep Arena feeling fresh, as well as make sure that card synergies can be drafted more easily.
      Changes have also been made to the distribution of cards. Common and Basic cards will show up less often, and the frequency of spells and class cards being offered has been raised. The full discussion can be found in the announcement link above, but the main reasoning is to allow players to have more opportunities to outdraft and outplay their opponents, rather than just playing the game on curve.
      This philosophy will have some implications in Standard too. If Blizzard are actively trying to reduce the impact of playing on curve in Arena, this could mean that they will carry over the same thoughts into constructed play. I feel that moving away from the style, unaffectionately known as Curvestone, would be good for the game. The changes will almost certainly be welcomed in the Arena community, and it is good to see Blizzard making them now, rather than waiting for the next set to launch.

      <Turkeyism> is a (7/7M EN) (2/3M ToV) (3/10M NH) weekend raiding guild on Stormrage US. Our guild was originally formed in early 2013 as a 10man Heroic raid team with the goal to have fun and get as far as possible. After having defeated Heroic Garrosh in Siege of Ogrimmar and ending the Mists of Pandaria expansion ranked 19th on Stormrage, our team decided to push forward into Warlords of Draenor. With the introduction of Mythic in 6.0, our team set out to expand our roster, overcome new challenges, and defeat the final boss on Mythic, all while maintaining a fun atmosphere to raid in. We finished Warlords of Draenor ranking 14th on Stormrage and managed to get 27 of our raiders the Felsteel Annihilator mount from Mythic Archimonde. We are now currently raiding Mythic Nighthold and looking for additional players (870 ilvl+) who seek a challenge and want to have fun.
      Raid Times:
      Friday: 7:30pm – 11:30pm EST
      Saturday: 7:30pm – 11:30pm EST
      <Turkeyism> is a weekend raiding guild that raids two nights a week from 7:30 – 11:30pm EST on Friday and Saturdays.

      Paladin (Holy/ret)
      Druid (Balance)
      Priests (Shadow)

      Warlocks (Affliction/Demonology)

      Guild Expectations:
      So as a guild there are a few things we expect our raiders and recruits to do/know.
      First, we expect our raiders/recruits to know their class fairly well. They should also have a good grasp of the encounters by either having first-hand experience, or by watching tutorials and kill videos online. Knowledge is power as the saying goes.
      Second, we expect players who wish to be part of the core raid team to understand that attendance and showing up on time to raid is important to the success of the guild. We understand when real life issues come up, however it isn’t fair to the other 19 players who showed up if you continuously miss raid because of “reasons”. This is why we want to make sure that our raiders/recruits understand that by joining our raid team, you are making a commitment to the rest of the group to show up every week. Ultimately, we are all individuals working together towards a common goal and our success or failure as a group depends upon people committing to the team.
      Third, we expect our raiders/recruits to be able to take criticism from others. If we notice that you could improve in any manner, we won’t hesitate to point it out. We won't ever attack others for making mistakes, but we will politely let them know of their blunders and how they could improve.
      Fourth, raiders/recruits should be willing to sit out for certain encounters. We know it isn’t the most fun thing to have to sit out on a boss fight, especially if there is loot or if you’ve worked hard getting to that encounter. However, not all fights are created equal and sometimes we have to ask players to sit out in order to have the best group composition to complete the encounter. Your willingness to sit out won’t be forgotten and we try to make sure that everyone gets a chance to kill the boss and get loot.
      Fifth, all recruits are expected to present WarcraftLogs in their applications. This will give us an idea of how you handle mechanics and how well you performed. We understand that your time is valuable and so is ours. By looking at your WarcraftLogs we can get an idea if you can perform within the required range were looking for before bringing you in to raid with us.
      Finally, our guild is made up of players in their early 20’s/mid-30’s and our chat can sometimes get spicy and very adult oriented. We can sometimes talk about off the wall stuff, some of which can get very “Rated R” very fast.
