Beidou Guide and Best Builds

Beidou is a 4-Star Electro Claymore character, who excels in 2-target fights while being able to provide Electro RES shred and a strong shield with Constellations. Her skill is a parry, which can be great for a lot of mechanics in a pinch. Her burst works really well for off-field DPS, which snapshots on cast, meaning that you want to stack as many ATK % buffs into it. Her only drawback is her Energy requirements are high, meaning she needs a lot of Energy Recharge and an Electro Battery.

This guide will focus on Beidou's best weapons, builds, artifacts, teambuilding and more!

Beidou Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Beidou build guide for Genshin Impact. Beidou is a 4-Star Electro Off-field DPS Character who focuses on dealing damage through her Elemental Burst. She can be built for raw off-field Electro damage or for Aggravate teams. In our guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Beidou, from building the best Artifacts and Weapons to important stat priorities and rotations.

Different Beidou Build Options

Beidou has two main build paths. Her standard Off-field DPS build focuses on raw Electro Burst damage, while her Aggravate build uses the same core stats but gains additional value from Elemental Mastery and Quicken-based teams.

Best Weapons for Beidou

Listed below are Beidou's best weapons for her standard Off-field DPS build. This build focuses on maximizing raw Elemental Burst damage.

A Thousand Blazing Suns

Sunset Reignites the Dawn

Base ATK: 741

CRIT Rate: 11.0%

Gain the "Scorching Brilliance" effect when using an Elemental Skill or Burst: CRIT DMG increased by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% and ATK increased by 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56% for 6s. This effect can trigger once every 10s.
While a "Scorching Brilliance" instance is active, its duration is increased by 2s after Normal or Charged attacks deal Elemental DMG. This effect can trigger once every second, and the max duration increase is 6s.
Additionally, when the equipping character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, "Scorching Brilliance" effects are increased by 75%, and its duration will not count down when the equipping character is off-field.

A Thousand Blazing Suns is one of Beidou's strongest weapons for raw off-field damage, providing excellent offensive stats that increase her Burst damage.
Wolf's Gravestone

Wolfish Tracker

Base ATK: 608

ATK: 49.6%

Increases ATK by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%. On hit, attacks against opponents with less than 30% HP increase all party members' ATK by 40% / 50% / 60% / 70% / 80% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.

Wolf's Gravestone is a powerful option for Beidou due to its high ATK and team buffing passive. Since Beidou's Burst snapshots buffs, ATK increases can provide strong value when applied before using her Burst.
Redhorn Stonethresher

Gokadaiou Otogibanashi

Base ATK: 542

CRIT DMG: 88.2%

DEF is increased by 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56%. Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 40% / 50% / 60% / 70% / 80% of DEF.

Redhorn Stonethresher is a strong CRIT DMG stat stick for Beidou. While its DEF scaling passive is not useful for her, the raw CRIT value makes it a competitive damage option.
Fang of the Mountain King

Turquoise Hunt

Base ATK: 741

CRIT Rate: 11.0%

Gain 1 stack of Canopy's Favor after hitting an opponent with an Elemental Skill. This can be triggered once every 0.5s. After a nearby party member triggers a Burning or Burgeon reaction, the equipping character will gain 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 2s and can be triggered even when the triggering party member is off-field. Canopy's Favor: Elemental Skill and Burst DMG is increased by 10% / 12.5% / 15% / 17.5% / 20% for 6s. Max 6 stacks. Each stack is counted independently.

Fang of the Mountain King can be used as an offensive 5-Star option for Beidou, mainly due to its strong stat value. Its passive may not always be fully utilized, but it remains a usable damage-focused weapon.
The Unforged

Golden Majesty

Base ATK: 608

ATK: 49.6%

Increases Shield Strength by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% / 8% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.

The Unforged is a strong ATK-focused option, especially when Beidou is protected by a shield. It provides high ATK value, which can increase the damage of her snapshotting Elemental Burst.
Verdict

Many Oaths of Dawn and Dusk

Base ATK: 674

CRIT Rate: 22.1%

Increases ATK by 20%. When party members obtain Elemental Shards from Crystallize or trigger Lunar-Crystallize reactions, the equipping character will gain 1 Seal, increasing Elemental Skill DMG by 18%. The Seal lasts for 15s, and the equipper may have up to 2 Seals at once. All of the equipper's Seals will disappear 0.2s after their Elemental Skill deals DMG. Up to 1 Seal may be obtained every second through the Lunar-Crystallize reaction.

Verdict is a strong offensive stat stick for Beidou, providing CRIT Rate and high base stats. While the passive is not always fully optimized for her, the weapon still performs well for Burst damage.
Beacon of the Reed Sea

Desert Watch

Base ATK: 608

CRIT Rate: 33.1%

After the character's Elemental Skill hits an opponent, their ATK will be increased by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% for 8s. After the character takes DMG, their ATK will be increased by 20% / 25% / 30% / 35% / 40% for 8s. The 2 aforementioned effects can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. Additionally, when not protected by a shield, the character's Max HP will be increased by 32% / 40% / 48% / 56% / 64%.

Beacon of the Reed Sea is a strong CRIT Rate weapon for Beidou. Its offensive stats are valuable for both raw DPS and Aggravate builds, making it a flexible choice.
Serpent Spine

Wavesplitter

Base ATK: 510

CRIT Rate: 27.6%

Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 6% / 7% / 8% / 9% / 10% more DMG and take 3% / 2.7% / 2.4% / 2.2% / 2% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.

Serpent Spine is one of Beidou's best 4-Star options, especially if it is pre-stacked before combat. Since Beidou is usually off-field or protected, she can maintain stacks more easily than many on-field characters.
Akuoumaru

Watatsumi Wavewalker

Base ATK: 510

ATK: 41.3%

For every point of the entire party's combined maximum Energy capacity, the Elemental Burst DMG of the character equipping this weapon is increased by 0.12% / 0.15% / 0.18% / 0.21% / 0.24%. A maximum of 40% / 50% / 60% / 70% / 80% increased Elemental Burst DMG can be achieved this way.

Akuoumaru can be strong for Beidou because her damage is heavily focused on her Elemental Burst. Its value depends on your team's total Energy cost.
"Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword"

Melussistance!

Base ATK: 565

Energy Recharge: 30.6%

ATK increased by 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%. That's not all! The support from all Melusines you've helped in Merusea Village fills you with strength! Based on the number of them you've helped, your ATK is increased by up to an additional 12% / 15% / 18% / 21% / 24%.

Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword is a strong event weapon option, providing Energy Recharge and ATK. Make sure to complete the relevant Melusine world quests to fully benefit from its passive effect.

Listed below are Beidou's best weapons for her Aggravate DPS build. This build still values CRIT, ATK, and Energy Recharge, but Elemental Mastery can gain more value due to Aggravate reactions.

Beacon of the Reed Sea is Beidou's best Aggravate-focused weapon thanks to its strong CRIT Rate value and flexible offensive stats.

Verdict is a strong offensive option for Aggravate Beidou, mainly due to its CRIT Rate and strong base stats. Even when its passive is not fully optimized, it remains competitive.

Additionally, when the equipping character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, "Scorching Brilliance" effects are increased by 75%, and its duration will not count down when the equipping character is off-field.

A Thousand Blazing Suns is a strong offensive option for Beidou, providing high stat value and strong damage potential.
Redhorn Stonethresher

Gokadaiou Otogibanashi

Base ATK: 542

CRIT DMG: 88.2%

DEF is increased by 28% / 35% / 42% / 49% / 56%. Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 40% / 50% / 60% / 70% / 80% of DEF.

Tidal Shadow R5

White Cruising Wave

After the wielder is healed, ATK will be increased by 24% / 30% / 36% / 42% / 48% for 8s. This can be triggered even when the character is not on the field.

Best Artifacts for Beidou

Emblem of Severed Fate

Emblem of Severed Fate

2-Piece Set: Energy Recharge +20%

4-Piece Set: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.

Emblem of Severed Fate is Beidou's best artifact set in most teams. Her Elemental Burst costs 80 Energy and makes up the majority of her damage, so the Energy Recharge and Burst DMG bonuses from this set are extremely valuable.
Noblesse Oblige / Thundering Fury

Noblesse Oblige

2-Piece Set: Elemental Burst DMG +20%

4-Piece Set: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.

A 2-piece Noblesse Oblige and 2-piece Thundering Fury setup is a strong alternative for increasing Beidou's Elemental Burst and Electro damage. This is a good option if you do not have a complete Emblem of Severed Fate set.
2-piece ATK % Set Combinations

Gladiator's Finale

2-Piece Set: ATK +18%.

4-Piece Set: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

Any combination of 2-piece Electro DMG, Burst DMG, or 18% ATK sets can work on Beidou. Sets such as Gladiator's Finale can be paired with Noblesse Oblige or Thundering Fury when you need a flexible alternative.

Beidou's Stat Priority

Sands of Eon: ATK % / Energy Recharge
Goblet of Eonothem: Electro DMG
Circlet of Logos: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Substats: Comfortable Energy Recharge > CRIT Rate/DMG > ATK % > EM

Beidou's most important stat is enough Energy Recharge to use her Elemental Burst consistently. After reaching comfortable Energy Recharge, she should focus on CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK%. Elemental Mastery gains additional value in Aggravate teams, but it is generally not prioritized over CRIT or Energy Recharge.

Beidou's Burst can snapshot ATK buffs, meaning buffs applied before casting her Burst will remain for the duration. This makes ATK buffs stronger depending on the team setup.

Recommended Stats for Beidou

Build recommendations assume Beidou is played with a second Electro character such as Fischl. If you are not using another Electro battery, her Energy Recharge requirements will be higher.

ATK: 1,600-2,000
CRIT Rate: 60-75%
CRIT DMG: 120-180%
ER: 170-220%
EM: 0-150

Beidou's Talent Priority

Talent Priority: Stormbreaker > Tidecaller >>> Oceanborne

Beidou's Elemental Burst is her most important talent because it provides the majority of her off-field damage. Her Elemental Skill should be leveled next, especially if you use her parry regularly. Her Normal Attacks can be ignored in most off-field builds.

How to Play Beidou

Beidou is mainly played as an off-field DPS who deals damage through her Elemental Burst, Stormbreaker. While her Burst is active, Normal and Charged Attacks from the active character trigger chain lightning that can bounce between nearby enemies.

Beidou is especially strong in two-target situations because her Burst can bounce between enemies repeatedly. However, her damage becomes much weaker in pure single-target encounters where the chain lightning cannot bounce.

Her Elemental Skill, Tidecaller, functions as a parry. Holding the Skill allows Beidou to absorb incoming attacks before releasing a powerful Electro strike. If she parries at the right time, her 1st Ascension Passive, Retribution, allows her to instantly gain the maximum damage bonus.

In most rotations, Beidou should use her Skill to generate Energy, cast her Burst, and then swap to an on-field character who can trigger her chain lightning consistently with Normal or Charged Attacks.

Beidou's Best Constellations

Best Constellations: C1, C2 and C6

Beidou's most valuable constellations are C1 Sea Beast's Scourge, C2 Upon the Turbulent Sea, the Thunder Arises, and C6 Bane of Evil. C1 provides a shield after using her Burst, adding extra defensive utility. C2 greatly improves her chain lightning by allowing it to jump additional times, making it one of her strongest damage increases. C6 reduces nearby enemy Electro RES during her Burst, further increasing her damage and supporting Electro teammates.
