Pyro Traveler Build Guide, Best Artifacts, Weapons and Talent Priority

The Pyro Traveler has 2 different available builds. The first being as a general support and providing team utility and the second being as a source of Pyro for elemental reactions in mainly Overload and Burgeon teams.

2.

Pyro Traveler's Build Options

Support Build Reaction DPS Build
3.

Support Pyro Traveler Build

BiS Weapon Favonius Sword
Alternative Weapons
  1. Peak Patrol Song
  2. Freedom-Sworn
  3. Sacrificial Sword
Best Artifacts
  1. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City
  2. Tenacity of the Millelith
Main Stats
  • Sand Stats: Energy Recharge
  • Goblet Stats: Pyro DMG
  • Circlet Stats: CRIT Rate / DMG
Substat Priority
  1. Energy Recharge to Requirements
  2. CRIT Rate / DMG
  3. ATK %
  4. DEF % (With Peak Patrol Song)
Talent Priority
  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst

In this support Traveler build, your best weapon is Favonius Sword which provides energy for the team making it the perfect supportive weapon. Outside of Sacrificial Sword, other good options are 5-Star weapons generally best placed on the characters they are designed for.

Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is by far the best artifact set to use in most situations due to the buffs it grants the team however other generalist supportive sets such as Tenacity of the Millelith, Noblesse Oblige and even Instructor can be good depending on the team.

As a Support you want around 210-240% Energy Recharge with the exact amount highly depending on your team. Aside from that, focus on CRIT Rate/DMG to increase your damage.

4.

Reaction Pyro Traveler Build

BiS Weapon Freedom-Sworn
Alternative Weapons
  1. Xiphos' Moonlight
  2. Favonius Sword
  3. Iron Sting
  4. Sacrificial Sword
Best Artifacts
  1. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City
  2. Flower of Paradise Lost
Main Stats
  • Sand Stats: Elemental Mastery / Energy Recharge
  • Goblet Stats: Elemental Mastery
  • Circlet Stats: Elemental Mastery
Substat Priority
  1. Energy Recharge to Requirements
  2. Elemental Mastery
  3. CRIT Rate (with Favonius)
Talent Priority
  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst

In this build the main focus is entirely on Elemental Mastery to increase reaction damage. Freedom-Sworn is your best weapon for this, however as a F2P build option Favonius Sword is still great due to how much it lowers ER requirements.

Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is generally the best artifact set to use in most situations due to the buffs it grants the team however Flower of Paradise Lost is a great second place.

This build needs a lot more Energy Recharge compared to the previous build, often wanting around 240-270 depending on if playing the Traveler in Overload teams or in Burgeon team compositions.

5.

Combos and How to Play Pyro Traveler

The Pyro Traveler as a support is incredibly easy to play. Flowfire Blade is your Elemental Skill and how you apply Pyro while off-field. This skill has 2 variations that both generate the same amount of nightsoul (42):

  • Tap - Periodically deals Pyro to nearby enemies.
  • Hold - Deals Pyro in the form of Coordinated Attacks once every 3s.

Both drain nightsoul over time, whats best can depend but most of the time Hold will be your best option outside of Burgeon.

Outside of that, all you need to worry about is your Elemental Burst Plains Scorcher which deals AoE Pyro DMG but more importantly restores nightsoul. Because of that, you want to burst every rotation alongside your skill before swapping characters.

6.

Pyro Traveler Best Team Comps

The Pyro Traveler can be a great F2P support option for teams that want additional Pyro application for example Burning and Overload teams.

6.1.

Pyro Traveler Support Teams

Main DPS Support Support Support
Varesa Pyro Traveler Chevreuse Iansan
Mualani Pyro Traveler Sucrose Xilonen
Kinich Pyro Traveler Emilie Bennett
Raiden Shogun Pyro Traveler Chevreuse Bennett

Our recommended build is as a support to utilise Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City and their off-field Pyro application. While not exclusively, this often means that the Pyro Traveler is best to support Natlan DPS such as Mualani, Kinich, Varesa and so on.

6.2.

Pyro Traveler Burgeon Teams

Main DPS Support Support Support
Nahida Pyro Traveler Furina Sangonomiya Kokomi

The Pyro Traveler is a great option in Burgeon teams with their slower Pyro application. This involves at least 1 Dendro unit however 2 can also be great for Dendro Resonance, and a Hydro character for bloom cores to generate.

Pyro Traveler Ascension Passives and Materials

Ascension Passive Explanation
True Flame of Incineration

When the Traveler has over 20 Nightsoul points, the attack AoE of the Blazing and Scorching Thresholds from the Elemental Skill Flowfire Blade after they hit opponents is increased.

Embers Unspent

After the current active character inside a Blazing Threshold or Scorching Threshold triggers Burning, Vaporize, Melt, Overloaded, Burgeon, a Pyro Swirl or a Pyro Crystallize reaction, the Traveler will regain 5 Energy. This can occur once every 12s. Additionally, when a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, the Traveler will regain 4 Energy.

Pyro Traveler gains ATK % as they levels giving them a total of 24% ATK % at level 90.

The total cost to upgrade all ascensions is:

Source Quantity
Mora 420,000 Mora
Ascension Material
Local Specialty 168x Windwheel Aster
Enhancement Material
  • 18x Damaged Mask
  • 30x Stained Mask
  • 36x Ominous Mask

Pyro Traveler's Talents

Type Talent Name Brief Explanation
Normal Foreign Blaze

Normal Attack

Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.

Charged Attack

Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Plunging Attack

Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Elemental Skill Flowfire Blade

Wields a searing flame that can incinerate the very earth. Has different effects when Tapped or Held.

Tap

Call forth flames in a raging blaze. When used, the Traveler gains 42 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state, summoning a Blazing Threshold that follows the current active character. When the Blazing Threshold gets close to opponents, it will deal Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG to nearby opponents at intervals.

Hold

Unleash fire in a composed manner, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Pyro DMG to nearby opponents. When used, the Traveler gains 42 Nightsoul points and enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state, summoning a Scorching Threshold that follows the current active character.

When the current active character within a Scorching Threshold deals DMG to opponents, the Threshold will launch a Coordinated Attack that deals Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG based on the Traveler's ATK. This effect can occur once every 3s.

Nightsoul's Blessing: Traveler

Continuously consumes Nightsoul points. The Traveler's Nightsoul's Blessing state lasts 12s at maximum, and when their Nightsoul points are exhausted, or if the skill is used again, this state will end.

Blazing and Scorching Thresholds will disappear once the Traveler's Nightsoul's Blessing state ends, and only 1 Blazing or Scorching Threshold summoned by the Traveler themselves can exist at any one time.

Elemental Burst Plains Scorcher

Condense the flames into a mark, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Pyro DMG to opponents up ahead. Within the next 4s, the Traveler restores 7 Nightsoul points per second.

The Pyro Traveler's Talent materials works differently compared to both other characters in Genshin as well as other Elements that the Traveler has that you can build. Unlike previous Traveler builds, Pyro Traveler uses an unlockable item called The Cornerstone of Stars and Flames which can be obtained from Archon Quests, World Quests and Tribal Chronicles. These are used after Talent Level 6.

The total costs to level a single talent to level 10 is:

Source Quantity
Mora 1,625,500 Mora
Special Material 1x Crown of Insight
Unique Material 4x The Cornerstone of Stars and Flames
Domain Material
  • 3x Teachings of Contention
  • 6x Guide to Contention
  • 6x Philosophies of Contention
  • 4x Guide to Conflict
  • 20x Philosophies of Conflict
  • 11x Guide to Kindling
  • 12x Philosophies of Kindling
Enhancement Material
  • 6x Sentry's Wooden Whistle
  • 22x Warrior's Metal Whistle
  • 31x Saurian-Crowned Warrior's Golden Whistle
7.3.

Pyro Traveler's Constellations

Pyro Traveler's Constellations work differently to other characters. Firstly, the Traveler has a set of constellations from the Archon Quest to be used exclusively on a weekly boss battle and have no benefits in normal combat. Secondly, Pyro Traveler's Constellations are obtained with Blazing Flint Ore's from Trial Reputation in Natlan. This means if you are just starting now, it will take a while before you can unlock these constellations.

# Name Explanation
C1 Starfire's Flowing Light

While Blazing Threshold or Scorching Threshold are active, the current active character deals 6% increased DMG. If said character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, they will deal an additional 9% DMG.

C2 Ever-Lit Candle

Within 12s of using the Elemental Skill Flowfire Blade, after nearby party members trigger Burning, Vaporize, Melt, Overloaded, Burgeon, a Pyro Swirl or a Pyro Crystallize reaction on an opponent, the Traveler will regain 14 Nightsoul points. Each use of Flowfire Blade will restore at most 28 Nightsoul points in this way.

C3 Relayed Beacon Increases the Level of Flowfire Blade by 3.
C4 Ravaging Flame

After using the Elemental Burst Plains Scorcher, the Traveler gains 20% Pyro DMG Bonus for 9s.

C5 The Fire Inextinguishable Increases the Level of Plains Scorcher by 3.
C6 The Sacred Flame Imperishable

While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, the Traveler's Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG that cannot be overridden, and the CRIT DMG of these attacks is increased by 40%.
