This Gunslinger build utilizes high critical rate with a balance of Specialty and Swiftness to provide high-damage, rotational gameplay. It has a relatively steep learning curve through its three weapon cycle but in return, rewards with a high-value party utility and high personal damage.

1.

Peacemaker Gunslinger Overview

Gunslinger specializes in mobility and utility through its Handgun skills, while dealing high damage with its Shotgun and Sniper skills, albeit with a hefty animation lock. With a flexible rotation, this build makes Gunslinger a very versatile class overall.

A Peacemaker Gunslinger with a Critical/Swiftness build provides a smooth rotational gameplay that takes muscle memory to learn but specializes in high damage skills between your Shotgun and Rifle skills while maintaining mobility and buffs through Handgun skills.

2.

Gunslinger Strengths and Weaknesses

V Strengths
  • +High Personal Damage
  • +Strong Party Utility (10% critical rate, full uptime)
  • +Versatility
X Weaknesses
  • -Animation Lock on Shotgun/Sniper skills makes it punishing when used at the wrong time
  • -Squishy due to its low health and armor coefficient
3.

Gunslinger Skill Build

Here are three builds, depending on your available skill points.

Your party synergy skill is Spiral Tracker Icon Spiral Tracker with the level 1 Tripod Weakness Exposure Icon Weakness Exposure, which increases the critical rate of your party by 10%. It has 100% uptime and can be maintained easily once you have more skills such as Dexterous Shot Icon Dexterous Shot to improve uptime.

Your high damage skills are spread around Target Down Icon Target Down, Focused Shot Icon Focused Shot, Sharpshooter Icon Sharpshooter, Dual Buckshot Icon Dual Buckshot, followed by Perfect Shot Icon Perfect Shot and Shotgun Rapid Fire Icon Shotgun Rapid Fire. These skills are important to use under the party synergy window and your own to maximize the damage you dealt.

For skill points priority, invest in the following order:

  1. Target Down Icon Target Down
  2. Focused Shot Icon Focused Shot
  3. Sharpshooter Icon Sharpshooter
  4. Dual Buckshot Icon Dual Buckshot
  5. Perfect Shot Icon Perfect Shot
  6. Spiral Tracker Icon Spiral Tracker
  7. Quick Step Icon Quick Step
  8. Shotgun Rapid Fire Icon Shotgun Rapid Fire
  9. Peacekeeper Icon Peacekeeper
  10. Last Request Icon Last Request
  11. Catastrophe Icon Catastrophe
  12. Dexterous Shot Icon Dexterous Shot
3.1.

Gunslinger Skill Rotation

Dexterous Shot Icon Dexterous Shot is used as a mobility skill and backup synergy skill. It can be used in between any of the skills part of the rotation. Peacekeeper Icon Peacekeeper and Last Request Icon Last Request are your counter skills and can be used whenever counter is needed.

4.

Gunslinger Stat Priority

Stat priority is Critical Hit and Swiftness. The combat stats you are looking for are 1200 Crit and 400 Swiftness. The reason for this is the necessity for high critical rate in conjunction with raid buffs, Tripods, and Engravings to ensure that your main damage skills critically hit. Swiftness as secondary is used to smoothen the gameplay of Gunslinger as the class has a lot of animation lock and it is punishing to miss your skills. Specialty is not yet taken as, at current NA/EU item level cap, using Specialty will not really have an impactful effect yet and would compromise your other stats.

4.1.

Gunslinger Pet Selection

Critical should be taken, as it synergizes well with our stat allocation and gearing choices.

5.

Gunslinger Gear Set Options

The Preordained Diligence Set is the default set for Gunslingers to increase critical rate by 25% when fully activated. If one of your party members has the Harsh Oath Set equipped, you would receive an extra 50% critical damage on top of your own 25% critical rate. This normally only happens in organized group setting, so it is just a nice bonus.

5.1.

Gunslinger Gear Tripod Priority

  1. Target Down Icon Target Down: Steady Aim Icon Steady Aim, Large Magazine Icon Large Magazine
  2. Focused Shot Icon Focused Shot: Final Strike Icon Final Strike, Double Tap Icon Double Tap
  3. Sharpshooter Icon Sharpshooter: Special Bullet Icon Special Bullet
  4. Dual Buckshot Icon Dual Buckshot: Final Strike Icon Final Strike, Enhanced Fire Icon Enhanced Fire
  5. Perfect Shot Icon Perfect Shot: Enhanced Shot Icon Enhanced Shot
  6. Shotgun Rapid Fire Icon Shotgun Rapid Fire: Special Bullet Icon Special Bullet, Enhanced Shot Icon Enhanced Shot
  7. Quick Step Icon Quick Step: Life Absorption Icon Life Absorption
5.1.1.

Other Useful Gunslinger Gear Tripods

Your main damage skills are Target Down Icon Target Down, Focused Shot Icon Focused Shot, Sharpshooter Icon Sharpshooter, and Dual Buckshot Icon Dual Buckshot, so Tripods for these skills are priority. The Tripods listed above provide you with the most damage gain, while Perfect Shot Icon Perfect Shot Enhanced Shot Icon Enhanced Shot Tripod, Shotgun Rapid Fire Icon Shotgun Rapid Fire, and Special Bullet Icon Special Bullet are your secondary priority for Tripods as they provide a good damage boost, but fall under your secondary damage skills.

6.

Gunslinger Engravings

Grudge Icon Grudge because it is the Engraving that gives you the most damage without any condition. It does have a drawback of taking 20% more damage, which is alleviated by learning boss patterns.

Peacemaker Icon Peacemaker can be kept at level 1. You may focus on other Engravings first after getting this Engraving to level 1 as it already provides you with most of its benefits.

Keen Blunt Weapon Icon Keen Blunt Weapon is second priority because it provides conditional high damage gain through high critical rate. Since Gunslinger has a naturally high critical rate, they synergize well with this Engraving.

Hit Master Icon Hit Master is a good Engraving to increase damage from skills that has no front/back attack properties. Gunslingers uses Tripods that remove these properties, so they receive full benefit from this Engraving.

6.1.

Alternative Gunslinger Engravings

Cursed Doll Icon Cursed Doll is a good alternative to Keen Blunt Weapon Icon Keen Blunt Weapon and Hit Master Icon Hit Master as it provides similar bonus albeit with a reduced healing received as a drawback.

Adrenaline Icon Adrenaline is a good alternative Engraving that allows you to be more flexible with your stats. Be careful with stacking too much critical rate as it has diminishing return and will result in a worse option compared to other Engravings above.

7.

Gunslinger Runes

Below is the listed priority for placing Runes on skills. Note the quality of the Rune, as it may be important to prioritize certain grades of Runes onto certain skills based on usage.

Epic Galewind Icon Galewinds are the primary Runes for Gunslinger due to their hefty animation lock on their main damage skills. Using these Runes will minimize animation lock and smooth the rotation and positioning of Gunslinger while also allowing more flexibility in burst windows.

7.1.

Alternative Gunslinger Runes

Other Rune choices are Bleed Icon Bleed on Spiral Tracker Icon Spiral Tracker, Rage Icon Rage on Dexterous Shot Icon Dexterous Shot, and an Epic Quick Recharge Icon Quick Recharge on Quick Step Icon Quick Step.

8.

Gunslinger Card Set Selection

The best DPS card set is Light of Salvation Icon Light of Salvation with 18 awakening, but it requires a hefty time investment. For the time being, Lostwind Cliff Icon Lostwind Cliff with 12 awakening will be your choice.

9.

Gunslinger Tips

Party synergy skills are crucial for your party and yourself to output the highest amount of damage you can. Always remember to refresh your party buffs whenever you can with Spiral Tracker Icon Spiral Tracker and Dexterous Shot Icon Dexterous Shot.

Gunslinger has hefty cooldowns on their main shotgun and rifle skills, but in return, they are relatively free-form and can adjust their cooldowns between each burst window due to their multiple main damage skills. To track each of these cooldowns more easily, you can look at your identity bar under the weapon icons to see whether your skills are on cooldown or not. The blue light under the shotgun weapon icon indicates which shotgun skills are off-cooldown, while the purple light under the rifle weapon icon indicates which rifle skills are off-cooldown.

Try to develop a good muscle memory when playing Gunslinger as it is a relatively high APM class. I recommend to always reset your rotation into Handgun stance as it provides the most flexibility and mobility. Enter Shotgun/Rifle stance and take a few seconds to use your damage skills and reset back into handgun stance to develop muscle memory that will help you in the long run.
