Baicang Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Baicang build guide for Neverness to Everness. Baicang is an S-Rank Synthesis Character available in Neverness to Everness who utilizes the Incantation element.

In our Baicang guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of him, from building the best gear and weapons, to important skill priorities and combos.

Baicang's Best Arcs

Camellia Society M1
ATK - 666
CRIT Rate - 12%

Silent Garden

Increases CRIT DMG by 12% for 5s when the wearer's HP is reduced without taking damage, up to 4 stacks. Unlocks Arc: Silent Garden.
Consumes 5% of current HP and randomly performs one of the following attacks (CD 25s) in Arc: Silent Garden:
Harsh Rebuke: Rains merciless rebukes like leaves in a storm, dealing 5 instances of Incantation DMG of 24% ATK.
Incessant Nagging: Pierces targets with sharp, cutting words like thorns, dealing 6 instances of Incantation DMG of 18% ATK ; the final instance deals double damage.
Camellia Society is Baicang's signature and best Arc choice, providing a very high base Attack and a decent amount of CRIT Rate, as well as a strong Arc Effect that he can take full advantage of. The Arc Effect provides a high CRIT DMG bonus as long as the character loses HP without taking actual damage, which synergizes perfectly with his kit as he drains his own HP while playing. Additionally, as an Attack-scaling character he works well the Silent Garden Arc effect that provide Incantation damage based on his own Attack.
Fluff of Ferocity M1
ATK - 512
ATK - 27.5%

Knight's Candy

Increases wearer's CRIT DMG by 4% for 10s after landing a critical hit, up to 10 stacks. Resets the duration when triggered again.
Fluff of Ferocity is another great S-rank for Baicang. While the base attack is lower than Camellia Society, this Arc provides an additional Attack % increase in it's substat that Camellia Society does not have. The Arc Effect also provides a large CRIT DMG increase. The main downside to this weapon is that the Arc Effect is dependent on Baicang being able to CRIT consistently to build the buff. Without any built-in CRIT Rate as part of his kit or the Arc itself, it can be difficult to build enough CRIT Rate to consistently maintain the maximum buff stacks and reliably refresh its duration.
A Time Will Come M5
ATK - 475
CRIT Rate - 20%

Tidal Ascension

Grants the wearer 10% ATK, 10% DEF, and 10% HP when the team has at least 3 different Esper Types.
A Time Will Come is a good A-rank option, providing both a high base Attack and a CRIT Rate substat, boosting his personal damage. The Arc Effect grants Baicang increased survivability, which can be particularly helpful because of the HP-Drain of his kit. However, the reliance on having 3 different Esper types on the team does limit his team building slightly.

Best Console Setups for Baicang

Baicang's Console bonus is an 8% CRIT Rate bonus for every Type III Module

2-piece: Epic (2): Incantation DMG +10%.
4-piece: Legendary (4): Increases wearer's ATK by 6% when a nearby enemy takes Incantation DMG from the Team, up to 6 stacks. Each stack lasts 10s. Effect remains active when the character is off-field.
Crimson: Twin Butterflies is the best Cartridge for Baicang, as it provides an increase to both his Incantation DMG damage as well as an Attack increase. It is recommended to build for the full set Effect, as he is an Attack-scaling Esper that can take full advantage of the effects. When built for the full set effect, you can add an an additional 2 Type III Modules and 1 Type II, giving a total of 32% increased CRIT rate with his Console bonus. 4-piece: Legendary (4): Increases wearer's ATK by 6% when a nearby enemy takes Incantation DMG from the Team, up to 6 stacks. Each stack lasts 10s. Effect remains active when the character is off-field.

Baicang's Stat Priority

Cartridge Mainstat Priority: CRIT > Incantation DMG > ATK
Substat Priority: CRIT > ATK% > Universal DMG % > ATK

Baicang is an attack scaling Esper that, thanks to his Console bonus's CRIT Rate increase, should be built with high CRIT DMG and additional CRIT Rate, in addition to increasing his attack.

Baicang's Skill Priority

Skill > Ultimate > Basic Attack > Support Skill

Baicang should prioritize his Ultimate as that increases the Power Word damage he triggers with his Ultimate. His Skill should be leveled as his 2nd main source of damage. Following that his Basic Attack is better to prioritize over his Support Skill.

Baicang's Awakening Priority

If you have one or multiple copies of a character, you will be able to select Awakenings of your choosing. The following is a recommendation for Baicang's Awakening unlock order. Remember that you can switch them at any time to try out different ones, or tailor your choices for a specific fight or situation.

Awakening Unlock Order Explanation
Yo, Captain!
(A1)
His A1 is the first recommended Awakening, increasing his Skill damage during his Ultimate and reducing his Skill's cooldown.
White Aspect
(A6)
The second Awakening recommended is his A6 as it increases his CRIT Rate during his Ultimate, making it easier to CRIT consistently for better damage.
Soul Caller
(A2)
Soul Caller is his third recommend Awakening. While the ATK increase is quite potent, you'd want to grab those other two Awakenings first as the crit rate will further amplify his damage and his A1 makes it easier to maintain the buff.
In Honor of Moonlight
(A5)
The next recommended Awakening for Baicang is his A5, as it extends his Ultimate, helping him do more Power Word damage and giving him more opportunities to self-heal. This works well with the reduced skill cooldown of his A1.
Curses Spoken Into Being
(A3)
His third recommend Awakening. It increases Baicang's limit for Power Word to 4, further raising the potential damage he can do during his Ultimate.
Or Perhaps Blessings
(A4)
Baicang's last recommended Awakening is his A4. It provides him with additional self-healing during his Ultimate, and allows you to focus on generating the other Power Words besides Bless for better Damage during the Ultimate. However it does not benefit his damage as much as other Awakenings, especially if you are adept at dodging and parrying enemies very well.

How to Play Baicang

Baicang is an on-field DPS who generates Power Words with his Basic Attack, Skill, and Support Skill. He then uses his Ultimate to trigger the Power Words for large bursts of damage.

Once the game has launched, and we had an opportunity to play around with all the characters, we will be updating this section with more specific rotational advice and how to set up specific combos for Esper Cycles or burst windows!
