Below, we detail which items and stats you should prioritise for your Cleave Warlock and Mercenary in Diablo 2.

1.

FCR Damage Build

This is a standard high Damage build for the Cleave Warlock that uses 75 Faster Cast Rate to jump quickly between enemies.

High Attack Speed Weapon bases are preferrred for this build. While you can use slower bases like Thunder Mauls (even with high IAS they are still slow), it is recommended to use weapons like Phase Blades for a much better experience.

2.

Defensive Build

This is a defensive Warlock build, helpful for Hardcore characters.

3.

Budget Build Items

This is a variety of cheap gear sets to get you started.

Note: Having a source of Cannot Be Frozen is extremely important on this build.

4.

Mercenary

You can either hire a Defensive (Holy Freeze) or Offensive (Might) Desert Guard Mercenary in Act 2, Nightmare difficulty, depending on whether you want to slow monsters for added safety or improve the overall damage of your Mercenary. Note that Holy Freeze may shatter monsters on death, thus reducing the number of corpses available to you. As such, Might Desert Guards are typically preferred.

4.1.

Mercenary Gear

4.1.1.

Optimal Mercenary Gear

This is one of the best Mercenary gear setups across many characters, including the Warlock.

4.1.2.

Budget Mercenary Gear

This is a cheap gear set to get your Mercenary some easy Damage and Survivability.
