Below, we detail which items and stats you should prioritize for your Echoing Strike Warlock and Mercenary in Diablo 2.

1.

Echoing Strike Notes

Please be aware that Echoing Strike uses Faster Cast Rate and not Increased Attack Speed! This means you will want to focus on gear like Arachnid Mesh instead of Goldwrap to speed up your attacks.

Additionally, weapons for Echoing Strike do NOT use durability so finding good Ethereal weapons is helpful for getting that additional damage

Echoing Strike does not work with:

  • On Strike
  • On Attack
  • Crushing Blow
  • Open Wounds
  • Knockback
  • Added damage from Grief
  • Monster Flee/Blind

Echoing Strike does work with:

  • Deadly Strike
  • Critical Strike
  • Prevent Monster Heal
  • Life/Mana Leech

4.

Budget Build Items

This is a variety of cheap gear sets to get you started.

Note: Having 1 source of Cannot Be Frozen is extremely important on this build.

5.

Mercenary

You can either hire a Defensive (Holy Freeze) or Offensive (Might) Desert Guard Mercenary in Act 2, Nightmare difficulty, depending on whether you want to slow monsters for added safety or improve the overall damage of your Mercenary. Note that Holy Freeze may shatter monsters on death, thus reducing the number of corpses available to you. As such, Might Desert Guards are typically preferred.
