Fire Warlock Build for Diablo 2 Resurrected

Last updated on Feb 14, 2026 at 16:00 by MrLlamaSC

The Fire Warlock is a Ranged Caster that takes advantage of three very powerful Fire skills. Ring of Fire, Flame Wave, and Apocalypse all have large Area of Effect Fire Damage making the Chaos tree one of the best leveling trees for the Warlock.

Introduction

The Fire Warlock is one of the fastest and easiest builds for the Warlock in Diablo 2 Resurrected: Reign of the Warlock. Although a little bit mana intensive, most of the skills are simple to use and pack a large punch.

Fire Warlock Skill Build

The following section shows the core skills for the Fire Warlock. For a detailed breakdown of all core and optional skills as well as the recommended order for allocating skill points, refer to the Skills page of this guide.

  1. 20 Points to Ring of Fire – One of the 3 main Skills for this build.
  2. 20 Points to Flame Wave – One of the 3 main Skills for this build.
  3. 20 Points to Apocalypse – One of the 3 main Skills for this build.
  4. 1 Point to Levitation Mastery – Lowers Weapon Requirements. Maybe a 1 pt wonder
  5. 1 or 20 Points to Summon Tainted – Useful for consume to increase Fire Damage or add 20 points for powerful Summons.
  6. 1 or 20 Soft Points to Demonic Mastery – Increase number of Tainteds and boost them.
  7. Remaining Points to Consume – Used to Consume Tainted for added Fire Damage.
  8. 1 point to Bind Demon – Grab a powerful summon with Conviction or just a big tank.
  9. 1 Point to Death:Sigil – Potentially useful for extra explosions
  10. 1 Point to Lethargy:Sigil – Slow mobs to keep them within range of Fire skills since they take a little bit of time to setup.

Fire is very straight forward, simply place points down the left side of the Chaos tree and every time you unlock a new Fire Skill, begin placing points into the new Skill. Make sure to get a Leaf Runeword in a staff at level 19 for an extra power up.

Fire Warlock Breakpoints

In Diablo 2, stats that affect action speed (known as frames) for attacking, casting, blocking, and recovering from a hit can almost never be taken literally. For example, gaining 10% Increased Attack Speed from an item will not necessarily translate into 10% faster attacks. To achieve faster actions, certain breakpoints must be reached, which vary for every class. The tables below list how much of a given stat is required to actually improve the action speed of the class for the stated action.

6.1.

Faster Hit Recovery Breakpoints

Fire Warlock Mercenary

You can either hire a Defensive (Holy Freeze) or Offensive (Might) Desert Guard Mercenary in Act 2, Nightmare difficulty, depending on whether you want to slow monsters for added safety or improve the overall damage of your Mercenary.
