Magic Warlock Build for Diablo 2 Resurrected

Last updated Today at 16:00 by MrLlamaSC

The Magic Warlock is a Ranger Caster with a variety of powerful Damage over Time Magic spells. Because there's a lack of Magic Immunities in the game, this is one of the strongest Warlock builds for completing the game solo.

1.

Introduction

The Magic Warlock uses Damage over Time Magic damage to lock up and suffocate his enemies. Being a caster build this is another powerful Warlock setup that plays pretty easily and should not have issues with many immunities. Definitely one of the best Warlock starter builds.

Warlock Magic Skill Build

The following section shows the core skills for the Magic Warlock. Since this class is new the current optimal Skill choices are not yet discovered, but below are a list of the useful skills for this Magic build style.

  1. Miasma Bolt - A main skill of the build.
  2. Miasma Chain - A main skill of the build.
  3. Enhanced Entropy - A main Passive skill of the build.
  4. Abyss - A main skill of the build.
  5. Levitation Mastery - Lowers Weapon Requirements. Good for 1 point.
  6. Summon Defiler - Useful for Binding Souls and Consuming for extra Magic Damage
  7. Consume - Devour a Defiler for extra Magic Damage

Magic is one of the best damage types in the game, and the Warlock gets extra special fun with it as the spells have a Damage over Time effect. This is a great starter build and the focus should be on getting to Miasma Chain and using that as a main skill while Abyss can be used on large packs.

Magic Warlock Breakpoints

In Diablo 2, stats that affect action speed (known as frames) for attacking, casting, blocking, and recovering from a hit can almost never be taken literally. For example, gaining 10% Increased Attack Speed from an item will not necessarily translate into 10% faster attacks. To achieve faster actions, certain breakpoints must be reached, which vary for every class. The tables below list how much of a given stat is required to actually improve the action speed of the class for the stated action.

6.1.

Faster Hit Recovery Breakpoints

Faster Hit Recovery required to reach frame 0% 5% 10% 16% 26% 39% 56% 86% 152%

Magic Warlock Mercenary

You can either hire a Defensive (Holy Freeze) or Offensive (Might) Desert Guard Mercenary in Act 2, Nightmare difficulty, depending on whether you want to slow monsters for added safety or improve the overall damage of your Mercenary.
