Welcome to our Phoenix build guide for Zenless Zone Zero. Phoenix is a powerful S-Rank Fire Anomaly DPS Agent who mostly deals damage through her Ablooms, while also increasing squad members' Anomaly DMG with her unique team-wide Anomaly CRITs. In our guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Phoenix, from building the best Drive Discs, W-Engines, and important stat priorities.

Phoenix's Best W-Engines

Listed below are Phoenix's best W-Engines. While W-Engines are listed in a priority order, what's best to build on your Phoenix can vary based on your exact team composition and play style.

Plume of Rebirth

Hatching Day
The equipper's Anomaly Proficiency increases by 90/99/108/117/126. When Anomaly DMG dealt by any squad member to an enemy triggers a critical hit, the equipper's Fire DMG increases by 40/44/48/52/56% for 20s. Repeated triggers reset the duration.

Angel in the Shell

Energetic Strike
Increases the equipper's Anomaly Proficiency by 90/103/117/130/144. When the equipper is an Ether character, and comes on-field or uses a Special Attack or EX Special Attack, they gain a buff: DMG dealt to enemies afflicted with Attribute Anomalies increases by 20/23/26/29/32%, and all Attribute Anomaly DMG and Disorder DMG they trigger increases by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16%, lasting 15s. Repeated triggers reset the duration, and the effect is removed when switching off-field.

Weeping Gemini

Lingering Cries
Whenever a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy, the equipper gains a buff that increases Anomaly Proficiency by 30/34/38/42/48, stacking up to 4 times. This effect expires when the target recovers from Stun or is defeated. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.

Best Drive Discs for Phoenix

Phoenix has many Drive Disc options, as she will want to run different sets depending on the circumstances.

Freedom Blues

2-Piece Set: Anomaly Proficiency +30
4-Piece Set: When an EX Special Attack hits an enemy, reduce the target's Anomaly Buildup RES to the equipper's Attribute by 20% for 8s. This effect does not stack with others of the same attribute.

Chaos Jazz

2-Piece Set: Anomaly Proficiency +30
4-Piece Set: Fire DMG and Electric DMG increases by 15%. While off-field, EX Special Attack and Assist Attack DMG increases by 20%. When switching on-field, this buff continues for 5s, and this continuation effect can trigger once every 7.5s.

Phoenix's Stat Priority

As an Anomaly Agent, Phoenix does not need CRIT stats and instead focuses on building Anomaly Proficiency and Attack to maximize her Ablooms and Attribute Anomaly DMG. Anomaly Proficiency is her most important stat, followed closely by ATK %.

She additionally needs to prioritize Anomaly Mastery. Thankfully, this is a very easy stat to build, as you only need a 2-Piece Phaethon's Melody, an Anomaly Mastery Main stat on Slot 6, and a W-Engine with the Anomaly Mastery main stat. It should be noted W-Engines like Practiced Perfection will not contribute to this, as they provide combat Anomaly Mastery; these don't affect her Anomaly CRIT Rate.

Phoenix's Skill Priority

Phoenix's DMG comes through her Attribute Anomaly DMG, Disorder DMG (or Vortex in Velina teams), and most importantly her Ablooms. As such, her Core Skill is the most important to level, since her Ablooms directly scale with Core Skill's level and nothing else.

Otherwise, leveling up the rest of Phoenix's skills is optional, as they do not increase Anomaly buildup. The only achievable gain is a bit of additional Daze.

How to Play Phoenix

Phoenix is an Main DPS Anomaly Agent, she will want to take up the vast majority of the field time wanting to activate as many Burn Anomaly procs and Ablooms as possible. She provides a 40% CRIT DMG buff to the teams Anomaly procs, this includes things like Vortex, her own Burns and even Remielle Dan and her Luminize.

Certain Skills are considered Combustion Attacks, these will generate Pyre which caps at 120, when Phoenix has 100 Pyre she can spend it to cast her Enhanced Basic attack Basic Attack: Purifying Flame. Which will activate a large Abloom, dealing the vast majority of her damage.

When Phoenix uses her ultimate Ultimate: Perpetual Resurrection, she can instantly press her Basic Attack button to activate Soul-Searching Blaze this also procs a large Abloom which. Her Ablooms are generally most of her personal damage.

Phoenix is an incredible driver for teams including either of Velina or Remielle Dan, preferably both. Not only does she increase both of their damage significantly with her CRIT benefits but has amazing Anomaly Build-up rate, which is beneficial both of these Agents as they both want to have as many Anomalies activations as possible.

Phoenix's Best Mindscapes

Phoenix's M1 Lingering Pain and Thrilling Procession is her best Mindscape, it increases the CRIT DMG she provides from 40% to 65% it also increases her Pyre generation allowing for more Ablooms. It's both a great team increase and a good Quality of Life increase.

The only other Mindscape worth mentioning is Curiosity Won't Kill the Cat it increases her Burn duration by 2s which leads to increased Vortex damage inside Velina teams.
