Welcome to our Zhao team composition guide for Zenless Zone Zero. In this guide, we will explore the best teams to build for Zhao, including recommended Agents, character synergies, and Bangboo to help Zhao reach her full potential.
Best Pairings and Synergies With Zhao
As a Defense Agent with a range of supportive utility, she functions mainly as an off-field buffer, and fits in a very large selection of teams.
Zhao is the best support for Ye Shunguang as she is currently the only one who can activate Ether Veil for her. On top of that, they synergize very well and Zhao will provide a solid set of buffs.
Most Anomaly Agents such as Miyabi and Alice can take full advantage of all of Zhao's buffs. On top of that, Anomaly Agents also benefit from her additional ability DMG bonus.
Zhao also grants all of her buffs to attack agents. Ellen and Soldier 0 Anby are two good examples that synergize well with Zhao.
Despite Zhao's additional ability not triggering with Rupture agents, Yidhari still takes perfect advantage of all the other buffs from Zhao.
Bangboo in Zhao's Teams
Zhao's best Bangboo should be 
Birkblick, which is the Krampus specific Bangboo,
but you would have to get it up to Level 3 (so multiple copies of it) in order to require only 1
Krampus Agent in your squad. If you play Zhao with Ye Shunguang, Sprout
is your best option as it is her dedicated Bangboo.
