Ember's Best Essences
Essences are one of the repeatedly farmable ways to further boost the damage of your Ember. Which area and essence you will want to farm will depend on the weapon you are playing, as not all Essences are compatible with every weapon. Essences will increase the stats of your weapon, as well as enhance the passive effect it provides.
- Thunderberge: Strength, HP Boost, and Medicant, farmable in Power Plateau, Wuling City, Qingbo Stockade, and Sword Vault Dale.
- Phantom Pain: Strength, Arts Intensity Boost, and Suppression, farmable in The Hub, Origin Lodespring, Qingbo Stockade, and Test Area.
- Sundered Prince: Strength, Critical Rate, and Crusher, farmable in Power Plateau and Wuling City.
- OBJ Heavy Burden: Strength, HP Boost, and Efficacy, farmable in Originium Lodespring, and Sword Vault Dale.
- Industry 0.1: Strength, Attack, and Suppression, farmable in The Hub and Originium Science Park.
Essences can be further upgraded through a system called Etching which will be a long-term investment due to how much Sanity it takes to fully max out a weapon. You may therefore want to farm and Etch Essences for a signature weapon already if you plan on getting it in the near-future, even if you do not have the weapon yet. A simple +1/+1/+1 Essence for a temporary weapon like OBJ Heavy Burden will be good enough until you can get your hands on Ember's Thunderberge.

Ember's Skill Priority
Ember functions as more of a sideline Operator than an Active Operator, so try to prioritize her combo skill first, which triggers whenever your Controlled Operator gets hit. This causes her to not only deal damage, but also knocks down the target and applies some HP Treatment immediately after getting hit. Her Ultimate is also quite important to level up, as it grants the whole team a Shield based on her Max HP.
If you plan on playing Ember as your Controlled Operator, leveling up her skill is also worth it, as you now have much better control on when to use her skill right before getting hit. Doing so when she is just a supporting Operator is very difficult, so only level the skill if you intend to play around this counter mechanic.
How to Play Ember
Ember's playstyle is on the sideline. As an Active Character, Ember boasts some of the slowest Attack Speed in the game, which makes it difficult to even perform Final Strikes without getting interrupted. Most of her use-cases will be to hit her Combo Skill upon taking damage, getting an SP-free Vulnerable stack applied, and using her Ultimate on cooldown.
